Huh? We go from 7 to 4 and get Kerfoot? Avs lose three spots and a player? I hope I’m seeing things.

Its Colorados actual pick. #16 they own Ottawas pick #4. This scenario says they pick 4 and 7 and Sabres pick 16 and get Kerfoot.

Doesnt have to be Colorado tho. Any team that would want to trade up. What would the Sabres want to get out of 7?

I don't think Buffalo sells his choices

I actually like the idea of trading up. The picks 3 to 15 are uncertain, so let the other GM's sort of clear the field. A fair trade with MTL would be MTL 2019 first, MTL 2019 2nd, CBJ 2019 2nd and MTL 2019 3rd. Buffalo still has 2 firsts but adds 2 seconds and a third. That is a slight over pay, but if MTL approached the Sabres, maybe even more could be extorted.
