Rangers decide not to buyout Staal, Smith or Shattenkirk and do not sign Panarin or Duchene.

They make a hockey trade with Winnipeg for Ehlers for Skjei who would slot in as LHD2 behind Morrissey and save $750K on the cap.

Recent reports have Buffalo bring interested in Vesey and buying out Sobotka. Instead of buying out Sobotka, Buffalo sends him and the #31 pick for Vesey, Pionk and one of the Rangers second round picks.

The Philly trade might be wishful thinking on my behalf. They have a lot of young blueline talent so would a first round pick and young prospect be enough for him?

The last trade could be either Strome or Namesnikov for draft picks as either move would still work with the cap.
