Description
Weird idea to turn a very good 2-way Center into a winger but I think he deserves to play with high end line mates and last year numbers were just proof that he needs that, this gives two very good first lines and a solid 3rd, the 4th could change because I think Bracco will push up the lineup quite quickly, trades seem reasonable to me but LMK if you think I should add a pick here or there

Do the leafs gotta add a mid round or something for the retention? Cause the deal is 3 years of bad contract for 1 year of worse contract but does is the value even with retention? LMK

Not bad! I think LAK would need to retain more than 1M on that Carter-Marleau trade, considering you're paying for a guy for 3 years who might end up being 4th line talent.

I would push for Brett Pesce instead of Adam Larsson, personally. Solid two-way defenseman that costs marginally less than Larsson for a longer amount of time, and Pesce is younger and heavier.

I'm not sure that if Kadri is being played on the wing that Hyman still sees top 6 minutes, but the lines look okay. I'd personally put Petan as the 4C and resign Ennis to play 3rd or 4th line minutes, I like him with Moore.

I'm not sure that Sandin and Liljegren and Bracco are ready for the big league, but of course they're gonna get a look.

The biggest ish for me is Sparks as a backup goalie tbh. When he's in net, you really can lose to anyone.

Oh! The Canucks seem to be the front runner in the Nikita Zaitsev sweepstakes. Probably would get somewhere between a low 3rd or a few picks back for him. Maybe we could get Troy Stecher if we throw in a little somethin somethin

Pesce is also a good option though no one agrees on a price for him and I figured Larsson would be cheaper to acquire, Johnsson and Hyman could swap spots to make a shut down 3rd line of Hyman-Carter-Moore/Mikheyev
Sandin and Liljegren could be swapped out for Rosén and Holl so they will have to fight for those spots, but I’d bet they will be better than Rosén and Holl
And yeah I’m assuming sparks gets another shot after his leave of absence to “find his game” otherwise Woll could fight for that spot
And I’d like to see him on VAN as I cheer for them too and I think Z will get it together

For what Kapanen projects to be, and for CAR's overabundance of RD, I think Kapanen and a 4th for Pesce is probably good enough.

If you get marginal savings on Larsson to Pesce, more retained on Carter, and a slight pay reduction to Johnsson means you could afford someone like McElhinney for a 2 year 1.3-1.5M deal
