Price is not getting any younger, so there are two roads we can go down. We spend to the cap (which seems to be something current management is unwilling to do) and put a team together to take advantage of Price before it is too late. The time is now to get serious about winning. Time to have some fun. Top end forward needed, along with a top pairing LD.

Trade with Ottawa, unload bad signing of Alzner. Send good prospects in Evans and Lindgren both NHL ready, and a 5th round pick in 2020. In return Montreal gets a 2020 6th round pick and Duclair, hopefully a year in Laval and he can figure out to be a pro......jury is still out on that.
Trade with Philadelphia, bring in a top pairing LD to play along side of Weber, Shayne Gostibehere is expendable in Philly as they are loaded on LD. In return Philly gets a top end prospect in Suzuki, a usable player in Peca and a 2019 2nd round pick (Columbus) and a 2020 4th round pick (Winnipeg). This maybe a slight over pay but to get what you want you need to pay.
Trade with Minnesota or any team that you can move Shaw for a couple picks.
Trade with Colorado or any team that you can move Weise and Hudon for a bag of pucks!
