It’s pretty absurd to use Tanner Pearson as the comp for a Laughton contract. Pearson signed his extension coming off of a 24g/44p season where he skated over 16mins a game on a dominant line. Laughton is a 4C that can skate up the lineup in a pinch but tops out as a bottom-six forward. He will not sniff 4 years or 3million per.

Try something closer to 2 years and 3 million total and if that isn’t working send him a qualifying offer for next season. I don’t think you have to worry about an offer sheet.

Laughton would get like 2 mil for 2-3 years. Why get rid of Gudas? he has been solid for us the past year, and shown he can play great on the 3rd pairing. Myers wont get his money anyway, he hasnt shown that much at the NHL level, so he still has to prove he can play in the NHL level. If you want to promote an AHL RHD that would be friedman, and I would take Gudas os Friedman right now.

I would trade Ghost for Drouin 1 for 1, so we can get a 2C, let Patrick fill that role when he matures, but stick him on 3C right now, Laughton is a great 4th C and if people get injured, is a good 3C. I see talbot getting 2 mil instead of 1.5 mil, and id rather get Spurgeon, Trouba, or PK over EK at the moment with his injuries over the last year.
