Description

Panarin is not a guaranteed with quenville signing in Florida but i feel NYR wont miss up on this great FA market this year and will sign one of 4 possible players in Panarin, Duchene, Skinner,Nyquist. The reason the return is not as much as carolina hopes it would've been is because fox is going to walk from them but nyr are giving up some assets now to get him a year early "if the rumors are true". NYR have a defensive problem currently and the only trade target i can see happening is trouba currently but with his contract demands to be seen he is a risky acquisition. I think shestyorkin will remain in the ahl most of the season then be brought up to the nhl around january after he has adapted to the north american ice. I think NYR will be fighting for a wild card spot as early as next year but not be great. Im expecting to finish in the 10-16 range. This team is too good to finish bottom 10 but as it is stacked with young players it is hard to predict correctly with so many unseen variables.

I do not think that the Rangers will trade for Fox particularly if Yzerman takes over. They are focused on developing and rebuilding and while I can see them taking a run at some top free agents they might be happy to sit back and wait.
