i figured colton + 4th is the offset for those 2, so if you add a third to that would it be enough? i can't think lorentz for meyers is ridiculous both bottom tier nhlers on expiring contracts

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MartysBetter29</b></div><div>Respectfully, I haven’t heard a single report anywhere outside of random TBL fans on CapFriendly that would suggest NJ would remotely consider trading Bahl for Colton. Not knocking you at all Zibby, just seeing it spoken about like fact on this thread in addition to others.
The Colton being moved stuff has a little bit of smoke, Friedman has openly wondered if TBL is going to trade him. He is also on THW trade list (less significant). Not much but its something I guess. The NJ connection comes from one real throwaway tidbit in an interview with Ryan Novozinsky (NJ.com) where Colton said last summer that he grew up a Devils fan and it would be cool to wear the jersey one day. Again, not much, but “something”?
“Bahl for Colton” on the other hand is basically made up out of thin air haha. If anyone has an actual report with that information please pass along. Bahl was deployed as a top 4 defenseman for NJ during most of the playoff run this year. He will be on a cheap deal with team control the next few years. With Ryan Graves and Damon Severson leaving, NJ’s D core is looking extremely young and non-physical. When one of Luke Hughes, Dougie Hamilton, and Simon Nemec are on the ice for pretty much every minute of every game, a presence like Bahl is very necessary. Not to mention NJ has nothinggg coming down the pipeline with left handed D. Could NJ use a player like Colton on a third line? Sure. Would it be a fun story? Absolutely. But they NEED Kevin Bahl. It is a non starter.
Totally understand why Tampa fans would want him, just like I can understand why they dont have interest in a lot of the players us Devils fans mock in Colton trades like Boqvist, Sharangovich, picks. Thats all fine, thats what we do around here, share our opinions and yell at eachother about how wrong they are lol. Just want to clarify that the “Colton starts with Bahl” thing is very much a fan opinion, not an actual report, cause I’ve seen it presented like its a fact recently.</div></div>

Stamkos plays on the right when he isn't with Kucherov or on the pp. If Bahl is replaced because NJ won't add him kill the deal. Jeannot wants more ... 1.5 min. Barbashev isn't signing that cheap. He after the playoffs he just had will be asking the 6 range low 4 doesn't get close.</div></div>
With the flat cap and him clearly caring about winning (in my opinion the x-factor on Vegas) you think he’ll ask for 6? That’s only being signed by teams that aren’t competing for a cup… if that’s the case then keep the money and put ABB in the top 6.. tampa has never and should never oversign players in JBB regime.

Completely get your point.. it it makes all the sense in the world.. I do think that Tampa will try to go for a two for one with Colton and thought the 2 players on NJ make the most sense for that team.. I’ve thrown other ideas out there with SJ and Chicago and Tampa fans for some reason hold Colton to this ridiculous level that as a fan of 20 years just doesn’t understand and so I thought maybe I was missing something on his value, so if his value really is that high then those are the wishlist players I would want.. don’t care about his hometown honestly.. I really like bahl and McLeod… if his value is more a 2/3 line player leaning towards 3rd line and McLeod has to be part of the trade.. is there a second player to add to the trade?

It’s not letting him go if you trade him for value.. those 2 were UFA, not RFA.. big difference.. I believe you can fill 2 or three holes with Colton… because his statistics offensively are good but his 2 hundred foot game keeps him from being top six.. cirelli can’t cover for both stamkos and Colton in the regular season..

Prior year Joseph and Katchouk/Raddysh. Give him Stamkos and Cirelli and 16-19mpg he puts up 30-35g55-65pts</div></div>
I don’t understand your crazy love for Colton.. everyone’s post you throw around these same statistics but you never mention how bad his compete level is five on five or his defensive game and why he can’t be on a line with stamkos and cirelli because he’s not responsible in d zone to be.. that’s why hagel works with point and kuch, he doesn’t cheat for offense.. I hate to be the one to break this, but unless Colton takes a huge discounts, Tampa cannot afford to resign him so you have to look for good fits under the cap.. most likely Ufa expiring contracts on rebuild teams, since he’s an rfa… and to provide perspective if they were going to resign Colton, it would probably already be done.. they had cirelli sergy and cerny All resigned before their final year..

i think his value is the highest it'll ever be because he has one last year on a cheap deal and then an RFA, so if they are committing to the rebuild, get as many picks and prospects as you can for him imo

I can’t see how TBL is a fit tho, Danny would be crucified if he trades our best piece for a 1st round pick that is 4 drafts away (2026). The only way I see him taking a 1st that far away is if there is another 1st that is 2023. Danny said somewhere that he envisions the Flyers coming out of their rebuild in either the 2025-2026 season or 2026-2027 season which would mean that the player they draft wouldn’t even be in the NHL until 2027 at the absolute earliest if he is a stud. I don’t see Danny waiting that long for a player traded for TK and I think Flyers fans, myself included, would go crazy on him for it.</div></div>

why bring colton back to be bottom 6
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LordStanlersCup</b></div><div>I think hagel is like a gourde or coleman, a very hard forechecker and playoff essential but the market price for these types of players seems to be around 5 mil AAV. As for his production he was on a line with Kucherov and Point and just about anybody could hit those numbers on that line. If hagel was able to score on all of those breakaways he gets and control more zone entries then I would be willing to give him 6-7.</div></div>
i don't disagree that he plays like gourde, but i do think with better hands, i would say he is only 24 and i think Gourde was 29 when his deal kicked in, also the cap is supposed to go up and that would mean contracts go up.
I would say it would be inaccurate to say that when he plays with kuch and pointer he's just a player. he does the things they don't do, such as forecheck and go into the corners relentlessly. I think he is a much better fit on that line than stamkos or others are. they are not easy to play with either.
to finish off i can't say how much of a disrespect it is to compare him to coleman especially after this season. if you watched coleman this year, he was a shell of his former self.

why bring colton back to be bottom 6
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LordStanlersCup</b></div><div>Hartman got carried by Kaprizov, he would have nowhere near the production here he had in minnesota and foligno is too much of a cap hit, we might get close to getting killorn for that considering he would take a discount and considering taxes. I honestly am not too big on hagel, I love his forecheck but would not give him more than 5 mil AAV, he could be a very valuable trade asset. You also have to take into account that the salary cap could be going up by 4 mil in the 24-25 season and possibly another 4 mil the following season</div></div>
you are very incorrect on your analysis of hartman (respectfully) as a very important sample size- hartman was 2 goals and 3 assists and a plus 3 in this years playoffs.. kaprizov had one goal and was a -3 in this years playoffs
hartman is a setup man that drives play and has great skating
i truly don't think killorn is going to take anything less than 4 even with a "discount" and taxes coming into play otherwise it would already have been signed by both sides
now lets talk about hagel, I would need more examples or information to know why you don't think he's work are contract in the 6-7 range as most are projecting? his age is perfect, his stats and analytics are good. he skates well, can play any situation. maybe his size is the problem?
