I think Edmonton should definitely consider moving a 1st for help now. I don't think Debrusk is worth it though.
Maybe for a 2nd + prospect

Big Off Season
I do think the Oilers are going to be active in free agency, but those deals for Coleman, Larsson, RNH, are not gonna get it done.
Edmonton isn't the most attractive destination so you're gonna have to be amongst the highest bid.
At least 4x4 for Coleman
Larsson will get 4-5m x 4 years
RNH gets 6-7m

Tough sell getting Foligno to sign with Buffalo.
I think its either CLB or Toronto

2021-22
My feedback would be:
1) Hyman will get a lot more than 4x4. Think closer to 5M x 5 or 6 years, give or take.
2) Agree on Foligno. Likely gonna need to get closer to 3m x 2 to get him to sign. Columbus will offer him a deal to come back and they have $.
3) Jumbo is done after this year.
4) I like Bogo, but the way he has played this year he will find a team where he is basically guaranteed a 3rd pairing spot. He won't sign to be a 7th D

Offers on Rielly
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>Toronto fans need someone to hate and it's always going to be a skilled player who doesn't hit a tonne.
Rielly isn't a franchise d man or stud number 1.
But he is more than a top 4 here's an undisputed first pairing defenseman and would be the number 1 defenseman on many teams.
First off he's a minute eater. That's a skill.
Offensively he's one of the best in the league. He's 9th in points by a dman the least 3 years
And it's but just being a pp qb he's 4th in even strength pts
He can play in all situations. He's a smooth skater who can play all situations. And until this year he's done it with either scrubs or a very old Haibsey
Is he a stud defensively? No. But he's not bad or a liability.</div></div>
Relax dude. I'm not hating on Rielly.
He is a good player, but he is coming to the end of his deal and with the emergence of Sandin it looks unlikely we are going to offer him 7+ mill on a long term deal.
He has had a pretty rough year defensively though. I would say he is a bit of a liability.

Offers on Rielly
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marnerizov</b></div><div>I think a lot of people on here wouldn't offer a lot for Rielly. Some probably wouldn't even want him and that's fair. Rielly has been underwhelming, to say the least.
But in reality, I think Rielly could probably bring in a first, a roster player and a prospect (probably a B- or A- depending on the quality of the pick)
I know that price seems steep and a lot of people may not agree but, realistic, this type of offer is what Morgan Rielly is capable of bringing in. Especially if there's interest from a few teams.</div></div>
I definitely think there is a market for him. Top 4 offensive D that can play big minutes. I agree he could get a first + a player. Something like that.

Not sure where you get .660 at any point, but you're right that they have improved and look promising going forward

I think Buffalo is going to be looking for higher quality assets.
Steel, Tracey, Mahura are all kinda 2nd or 3rd tier pieces.
I'd want at least one piece that is higher quality.

Legit offer for Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TrueCanuck</b></div><div>The deal doesn't have to be cap in, cap out in the off-season. Teams are allowed to go 10% over the upper limit of the cap in the off-season. Vegas could make a deal for Eichel without Tuch, and then make a deal with another team sometime in the off-season to be cap compliant. As long as they're under the cap by the first game of the regular season, they're fine.
Buffalo won't retain. You can argue there aren't many teams that can afford his cap hit, sure. To which Buffalo comes back with there aren't any players at all like Eichel that are available. Doesn't matter about his cap hit, if you want a player like him then you make the cap work yourself. That's not Buffalo's problem. In a pandemic world where it's a flat cap and money doesn't flow as easy, teams aren't gonna be retaining as much and especially not for that length. You want Eichel, you know what you're getting in cap so you make it work or you don't get him.
With how disgruntled Eichel is, everyone basically knows how it's coming to an end. It will lower the price and if it comes to 1 of Krebs or Glass, Vegas will say they can have Glas but not Krebs. Vegas is doing just fine without Eichel, they don't need to give up a cost controlled A prospect for a guy that they're already winning without. That being said, Glass is a good consolation player and better all around than Krebs. And don't scoff at Hague being included in my idea. He's already capable of playing top 4 minutes at such a young age, and he's a big body that's only getting better. He's been raves about for his leadership ability too. I'd argue he's Vegas' best young player anyways so they're giving up they're best prospect/young player already.</div></div>
And you very well might be right about that, but Vegas could say the same thing. Don't want to retain to get this package? Ok cool. Have fun trading Eichel for Chytil, Kakko, and a 1st.
Maybe its not 2mill either, could be less, but Buffalo has pretty low leverage considering the player they are trading.
And yes I agree, doesn't necessarily have to be money in money out. Tuch I just thought was good because he adds value to the trade and subtracts cap, but if you could trade Rielly Smith to someone else that might be better.
Ultimately I agree with you, but I don't think its out of the question

Legit offer for Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HOCKEYBOY448</b></div><div>Maybe, guess we’ll have to wait and see cause it seems like the writing is on the wall for Eichel and the Sabres now.</div></div>
Thats kinda why I don't think retention is out of the question. Of course Sabres would rather not retain $, but I think their goal is going to be to get the most quality assets possible rather than worry about salary when they aren't even in contention or close to the cap for 3+ years.
The big stress point though is that he kinda HAS to be traded

Legit offer for Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TrueCanuck</b></div><div>Buffalo won't be retaining on Eichel. The talks stop there if it's even brought up. But I think Glass as a natural centre would be the centre piece in a deal. Vegas is high on Krebs, I doubt they include him in the deal. I also don't think they would include Tuch because he played with Eichel in his draft year for the USNDP and went from a third line, mid round prospect to a top line, first round pick. Vegas would likely wanna try that again.
I'd centre the deal around Glass, Hague, and a 2022 1st to start. Then go from there</div></div>
Hard to make the salary come even close to working without Tuch.
Vegas likes Krebs sure, but if they are making a push for Jack Eichel you have to make sacrifices.
I personally don't think they hang up the phone on retention. There aren't enough teams who can take on 10 million that easily. The offer is 5 legit assets for one so the retention seems reasonable to me

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Capitalfail67</b></div><div>now do you believe Matthews would be a 50g 90+point guy playing in AZ or does he directly benefit from the players surrounding him... like playing with Marner</div></div>
Of course Marner helps, two good players that have chemistry/synergy and make each other better, but if you watch Matthews, you realize that he scores with whoever he plays with and in so many different ways. He is also and underrated playmaker and his assist totals are severely deflated because his linemates don't score at a high clip.
Even in Arizona, I would wager Matthews is still an 85-100 point guy playing with Keller, Garland, etc...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan416</b></div><div>No chance Joe isn’t in the lineup, especially opening night of the playoffs. My guess would be:
Hyman Matthews Marner
Foligno Tavares Marner
