Also Leafs say no. I like Wilson and what he brings and he is the type of player I would want on the Leafs but not for the only Leafs player that actually shows up when it counts in the playoffs.
Only two players that are moving if I were GM are 16, 91.</div></div>
He will be re-signed. I agree, Toronto shouldn’t move Nylander

I'm guessing Wilson will resign in Washington.

Brian Burke Returns
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>A GM has to work at his job. Burke doesn't work his NHL jobs, he worries about his image to the media. He a great talker but a poor doer. No way any team should employ him at an executive level in the NHL. Besides a don't think teams want to take on his "dining" expenses he would have. In Toronto, he surrounded himself with minions who main job was sit around the dining table and tell Burke how smart he was.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmlfan93</b></div><div>Brain Burke would not make this trade he'd bring in someone like Matt Dumba. Truculent is the word he uses, and Keller is many great things but he's not that! Burke would actually be a great fit for this team. He's a better GM when he has the team and only need to push them over the top. Not so good when starting from nothing!</div></div>
honestly i was just joking around about the fourth line i put together here

Thinking Big
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmlfan93</b></div><div>Leafs gotta hope that with AZI news today may cause some of the NCAA players to play out there college term in order to free themselves to sign where they want and away from that mess. IE Logan Cooley and former teammate of Knies. Maybe there is a future (wishful thinking) where he signs with the Leafs because of that connection. It would be a steal kind of like Fox going to NYR. (After refusing to sign with Cgy or Car.) Or more recently Vessey signing with NYR instead of Buffalo who drafted him.
Either way getting talented young players is a pipe dream without giving something of value in return. Also Byfield doesn't fill the need Toronto has atm, and neither of the two players going to LA fill their need. They would need a Nylander or someone who could put the puck into the net.
Dudas contract talks might be stalling a few things on resigning players, but you are are ultimately right. All news coming out suggest ROR wants to test the FA market, <strong>so makes me believe he thinks he's worth north of 4m/yr</strong>.
Hoping the Leafs bring back at least Schenn, and Acciari.</div></div>
He absolutely is, EW projects he will get 5.5M on a 3 year deal

Kerfoot to Vegas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Janasazi</b></div><div>As a Leafs fan, I would be concerned if we trade Kerfoot.
To me, Kerfoot is an insurance policy in the #2 center spot if something were to happen to Matthews or Tavares.
Without Kerfoot, our #2 center if our stars got injured would be Kampf and I would not be okay with that.</div></div>
You telling me a Nylander couldn’t play C? A top 4 of:
Ritchie Matthews Marner
Bunting Nylander Kase
That couldn’t work, please. Keeping Kerfoot and his 3.5 mil AAV just in case an injury happens is stupid. The fact is he has been here for 2 years and the Leafs still don’t know what he is, a C or LW. Even more so if they plan on using him on the 4th line.
The fact he hasn’t been able to solidify his role on this roster makes him expendable

Everyone is trading the wrong guy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmlfan93</b></div><div>Btw you should read what I said...a player like Tom Wilson not meaning exactly Tom Wilson (we don't need Kardi 2.0) We need a Gary Roberts 2.0 tbh, but he was a special breed which I doubt we will ever see again.</div></div>
I agree with the philosophy of this team though. Skill, possesion, but with players that will bite back. They just didn't execute the style of play. The Avs are executing that style of play over the Knights that play that heavy style of game. It's the best style for modern NHL teams and for the direction of the game.

Kings side of the Mathews trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmlfan93</b></div><div>What the leafs need is someone like Doughty! (Might need to start cheering for Col) Can dream on what the Leafs should have been!</div></div>
Yeah you need those “mean” mentality from the defense. In 2012 kings had a young Doughty but they also had Greene Mitchell. Along with scuderi. I saw no toughness from the D. Or any leaf for that matter.

Dubas and Keefe fired Marner traded
Dubas should not be fired. He did everything he could and the team let him down
I think he is gonna get 1 more chance. But this time one of the 3 young stars is gone. (Mathews, Marner, Nylander, heck maybe even Rielly)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmlfan93</b></div><div>Let's break down the deal since its such a poor attempt at a trade idea.
If we go 1-1 for each player in the deal
Ullmark for Anderson is pretty much straight up 1-1 since Buffalo ownership would probably like the idea of saving real money (Anderson only owed 1 million of his 5m cap hit)
1st rounder for Taylor Hall is a gross over payment for someone who has 8million cap hit and has 2(or is it 3gs now) Basically paying for what he might do with good players around him.
and Now the part I'm taking most Sabre fans have issue with. Dahlin is not worth more than Morgan Rielly. (You might ask why even make the trade!) In order to open up cap space to do other things we need to part ways with a defensemen and to me Rielly gets you the most.
So if the deal was Robertson and Rielly for Dahlin I think Sabre fans shouldn't be so quick to dismiss this trade as it gives you another asset to trade that is probably worth more since he has 2 yrs left and is a PROVEN 70pt defender. (As nice as it is to be in the honeymoon phase with a player it's been 3 years and Dahlin is trending downwards in player progress regardless if it's team management messing that up or the player it doesn't mean that it will start trending upwards any time soon. I would sell high on everyone on the Sabres roster at this point cause your team is in for a long and rough road ahead and it won't lead to current players being any more valuable.
This deal benefits both teams, and maybe picks going back to the Leafs is a bit much, but the factor mid range picks for a team that has no scouts do you no good, and it help with the over payment with robertson being in the deal with the 1st.</div></div>
Here's the deal.
I am a Sabres fan.
When I see Dahlin in a trade I normally close the post.
Then I looked again.
I think we are on the same page of the program.
Hall > 1st
Ullmark > Anderson
Dahlin < Reilly + Robertson
Let's see how many goals the team can score once a new coach allows the players to showcase their skills. Hall among many others has been dragged down by Krueger.
I think Ullmark could sign with Buffalo and Ullmark has out performed Anderson for the last 2 seasons.
I liked Morgan Reilly from the first time I saw him pull one of his spin-o-rammers Buffalo.
Since Reilly is signed for one more year I do not make the trade.
If I knew Reilly could be locked up for the next 8 years, I make this trade in a heart beat.
You made an interesting post that made me think a lot.
