Toews has one of the worst contracts in the league considering he just had his best ever year and it wasn't as good as Scheifele's. Kane is an upgrade on Wheeler, but the latter is coming off back to back 91 point seasons, which Kane himself has only ever topped twice (including last year, and both were 100+ point seasons), so I'm still not sure that much more money for less term is worth it for that swap either. Big Buff for two years on a bad contract is much better than Seabrook on another one for five more.

The WPG trio has a combined line 2018-2019 line of 62-44-206 with Buff missing half the season (a combined point per game pace). The CHI trio is 84-135-219 with a combined 5 games missed (a combined 0.91 points per game) and for that you're paying $3,900,000 a year more for the next two years and $21,300,000 overall.

Toews and Kane have the name recognition and love, and that's the only reason that Chicago could get away with not sending over a pick or a prospect to thank WPG for saving the team millions a year while getting a little younger (since Scheifele is only 26 and Buff comes off the books 3 years sooner than Seabrook) and without having to sacrifice anything significant in production.</div></div>

Yeah I'm aware that it doesn't make financial sense for Winnipeg. There is a lot of talk on here about Winnipeg's leadership issues, so I figured I'd base an AGM on what would the Jets look like if you switched out Winnipeg's big 3 with Chicago's big 3. Just for fun, nothing serious. Most things you see on here are ridiculous so I thought I'd be try my hand at it.
