A little surprised they went back to the Samsonov-Vanacek duo. But they do have a ton of potential. This is a good prove it deal

The fact that he's staying and the value he's brought to this franchise over the years automatically makes it a good signing.

Great prospect for the caps. With 16 points in 14 AHL games this season, I'm hoping he's NHL ready next season. Super interesting player. And interesting name too lol.

Personally that’s not enough for me to want to get rid of Kuzy. We have no need for Chiarot. If it was a decent forward or RHD prospect and a first, I’d do that

(WSH/NJD) - Siegenthaler for 3rd round pick
A guaranteed 3rd round pick for a former 2nd round pick who still has the potential to be an adequate replacement for the defencemen on New Jersey's left side that will soon be departing.
Siegenthaler goes to a team that actually wants him on the premise he can be a good, serviceable LD down the stretch and into next season.
The price for him was neither a cheap bargain nor outlandishly expensive by any stretch of the imagination.
I voted fair deal :)

Washington declines ... Amirov had an average at best year in the KHL and scored 0 points in 9 playoffs games. Capitals would need more or a better player like Robertson + to get Vrana. you got 15oa and a prospect for Kappy and Vrana is a better player...

WHAT!?!?! wtf would you trade Fehérváry to dump Panik? he currently would be the 3rd best defenseman on this team..... that's insane i would never in100000 years do that. Forsberg 2.0 type trade. that kid is going to be a top pairing D man as early as next year for the capitals.... top 4 guaranteed.
sorry ilove Fehérváry. kid is a stud

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheFlamingC</b></div><div>Ok, that's a fair point. I just think they have a hard decision as both lines had similar production. He also bring the best out in Zary, who is one of the weaker players on the roster, whereas McMichael and Cozens can easily pull their own weight. Who's you 3C if you do that? Mercer? Looks like they were experimenting Krebs and Perfetti on the wing so I imagine it'd be Mercer. No way it's Suzuki.</div></div>
I imagine Newhook would be the 3C. Mercer is likely gonna be on the right wing on either the 3rd or 4th line. I would like the bottom 6 to be Perfetti-Newhook-Quinn Pelletier-Krebs-Mercer or something, with that 4th line as a dedicated shutdown line.

I think his realistic ceiling is bottom pair NHL. The odds of a 24 y.o. becoming a $4.5M D are extremely slim, especially w/ no offensive upside.

The Caps will easily deny the offer. The Leafs need Wilson more than the Capitals need Nylander, hence why we need to add sweeteners to the deal.

WASH WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>theBeer_Leaguer</b></div><div>Some things I'll argue you on:
Samsonov already began skating three weeks ago and is back to practicing, the team knows the degree of the injury, in that he is 100% and it's healed already.
Kuznetsov had 52 points in 63 games in a down year. Unless he gets injured, I don't see how he could ever get less than 50 points, given he always plays on the first PP and plays with Ovi half the time. If the season is limited to 60ish games, maybe in the 50s.
Ovi is one season off of yet another 50+ goal pace (if a full season had happened), and you predict a potential 18 goal season? I don't think he's really a wildcard, maybe he regresses a BIT in goals, but you think he'll go from 48 to potentially not even 20?
I don't know where you are getting that Orlov is a liability... he isn't at all
I'm not even going to bother arguing about your Wilson comment... I understand hatred for Wilson as a player given his history but if you deny his skill and power forward ability in the top 6 you obviously don't know enough about hockey
One year of age does not bring this team from first in their division to missing the playoffs lol. Multiple years away from that imo. Now if you were to say 'if this team doesn't get younger than in 2/3 years they will be a bottom 10 team' I might agree with that statement more</div></div>
Caps are loaded up front. I'm not a big fan of the bottom 6. Carlson is a beast, Dillon is decent, Orlov is average but after that?? It's tough.Ovechkin is not gonna score 18 goals in 60 games. He's going to score more. As a penguin fan, I hate Wilson to the core. Can't stand him at all. But he's a impact player for Washington. He makes big hits happen in a big game when needed I guess. I think the Caps are just like the Penguins but a year late. This is a huge year for the Capitals. If they don't win this year, then there will be tough decisions made for sure Imo. Oshie will probably be gone. Couple other guys too. We've seen it with PGH. Fleury, Kessel, Hagelin, Hornqvist, Murray, and Schultz are gone. Others as well. Core ages after winning. Just the way it goes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyTownUSA69</b></div><div>Nope, top 6 or bottom 6. Middle 6 makes no sense to me?? The 1st two lines are your strong lines. Interchangeable. Guenzel/Crosby/Kapanen, Zucker/Malkin/Rust.
All play about equal minutes and are inter changeable . On any team. The 1st and 2nd line. Or top 6. And top 6 forwards!! Not a top 6 winger?? There would only be 4 wingers. So what is a middle 6 winger?? It’s top 6 or bottom 6 my man. Played hockey into High School. Never heard of middle 6 in my life.
Your 1st line isn’t like your starting line. Your top 6 forwards are. Sometimes your second line takes the opening face-off. Just cause Geno Malkin is on the 2nd line does it make Kapanen who is on the 1st line better?? Just like Hertl being on SJS 2nd line. Top 6 forwards all play about the same number of minutes. A 2nd line forward could be on the 1st PP unit and a 1st line forward could not be.</div></div>
You seriously couldn't figure out what middle 6 meant, or you just love to argue?
