(CAR/MIN) - Rask for Niederreiter
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bluetomorrow83</b></div><div>Rask has been Lucic level slump thats why people see it as one sided Rask might break out at somepoint but has been poor over the last 2 years</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyplayer1</b></div><div>Agreed, and Rask is younger and is being paid less. Even if you include this year the difference is only .5 PPG vs .56 PPG since 2015-16. Niederreiter has also played on a playoff team while Rask has played on a bottom feeder.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>I don't see this trade as lopsided as others.
Over the last 3 years...
Nino - 227 GP / 63G / 69A / 0.58 PGP
Rask - 233 GP / 51G / 73A / 0.53 PGP
Production is roughly the same. Rask plays a premium position and is solid in the dot at a career 51.1% FO win. I'd say it's a pretty even deal.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetman</b></div><div>Minny may be thinking of trading Staal and Coyle....If they do, they will need a centerman. This is the only reason I can think of why they did it. They do save on cap as well....</div></div>

I just wanted to point one thing out. People were saying risk was garbage before this trade and he was overplayed but now this one for one has happened people are saying Minnesota won which makes no sense because they lost a goal scorer and got back a good defensive player and they honestly don’t need defensive forwards. Besides who honestly though task was a good player before this

5 STARS! In my threads, i signed him to the Dell contract of 1.9 millionm and i thought that may have been a bit low. So this is obviously quite team friendy. Great for the team

Probably not, considering the quantity of goalies heading to free agency this offseason. Still though, I'm surprised he didn't at least test the waters.

Maybe as a goalie, but I think the physical aspect would just be to tough for a women to handle. Against other women its one thing, to have a guy like Ovie of Buff coming down on you is a whole different story.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DragonRaptorHybrid</b></div><div>surprised Larkin only got 5 years; for what appears to be their franchise 1C, he shoulda gotten at least 6.</div></div>
He probably wanted shorter term for two reasons:
1. To cash in on a big contract by the end of this one.
2. If Detroit is a still a wreck he can pull a JT and jump ship to a contender.

After spending $24M on Jay Beagle and Antoine Roussel alone, it’s safe to say the Vancouver Canucks were, once again, the clear winners of the offseason
I mean, really. I thought they couldn’t outdo last year’s $20.5M on Gagner + MDZ + Nilsson, and of course, the previous seasons beloved $36M on Loui Eriksson

(WSH / COL) - 2018 2nd round pick for Grubauer, Orpik
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyplayer1</b></div><div>Does anyone know if Orpik is allowed to sign with Washington after his buyout? I know a player cant sign with his buyout team, but is there a time stipulation for resigning with a previous team? Like "a player who is bought out cannot sign with a team in which he has played for within one calendar year" or something along those lines. I really don't want to go read the CBA for this.
If not then this could be great for Washington to sign him to a very team friendly deal with bonuses if he was interested. They could potentially come back with the same defense next year.</div></div>
I believe he can sign with the Capitals.

People who use that Doguie has been traded twice narrative aren't supplying context for why he was traded. Boston was not going to pay him what he wanted, so they moved him. Same thing happened to Saad (mostly because they couldn't afford to pay him that).

This is a blockbuster, I'd the Hurricanes win but if you compare the pieces.
Hanifin is a solid 3 and is only 21, Hamilton is 24 and is a solid 2 but has now been traded twice.
Lindholm is a good 2nd liner, Ferland is also a 2nd liner but has had only one year of 2nd line production so far.
Fox is here to make the deal sweeter for Carolina so overall Carolina wins

I agree. Peter Chiarelli has a knack for finding bad apples and trading them away for great returns. First Tyler Seguin and then Taylor Hall. While those guys are busy hogging the spotlight, let's praise the true team players in Loui Eriksson and Adam Larsson and what great seasons they're having.

Not sure anyone is really "*****ing" about this trade. Lets be honest, the entire Bruins fanbase is hated on here because of a single poster and its a big reason I try to stay out of the forums. Every trade the B's made this TDL, they got fleeced by other fans. Boston could have acquired Crosby & Geno for a hockey net and people around here would still say Boston got fleeced.

He really had no where to go. He'd been passed by guy like DeBrusk, Heinen, Schaller and Kuraly that he couldn't get TOI. BOS held onto him as long as they could to see if he could turn things around, but it just didn't happen. He got a few chance to make an impression and just didn't. If FLA can allow him to get back to just focusing on scoring then he should give them a nice boost. He's also an RFA at the end of the year so I'm sure Boston wasn't going to bring him back.
