End of Rebuild Commences
Not bad, think you've gone a bit cheap on the Seeler, Walker, Atkinson returns for PHI though.
Allison is pretty much done, and with hathaway and deslauriers, hes redundant.
Hanifan and Lindholm would be two good UFA aims.
I think you've got too many shooters on top line, but like that 3rd line and 4th line works but I think a young speedy/offensive player takes deslauriers spot, moving him to 13th (Tuomaala is 3rd in rookie scoring in AHL, desnoyers throws the body alot, maybe one of them).
Dont like the defense though, too top heavy and 2nd pairing is too young. I'd go:
Sanheim-Drysdale
Hanifan-York
Andrae or another young guy-Ristolinen
Zamula as 7th

Pretender to contender
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>I think he has the potential to be a top 4 pairing dman in this league and he showed flashes towards the end of the year last year and a little in the playoffs. I think he is going to build on that moving forward. I honestly don't see it in Attard or Andrae, so my faith is a bit less than yours.
Regarding the young center, I completely agree, but we're not getting a young center in that ilk in a trade around Sean Walker, that's just not going to happen.</div></div>
I don't disagree, I think he is a 4 at best. But he will be 25 in 2 months, he will need a new contract after the season and he has yet to play even 70 games in a season even though this is his 3rd season in the league. I think our top 3 are solid going forward. I believe Bonk becomes that number 4 in let's say 2 years. Then you have Zamula, Attard, Ginning, Andrae and Grans for 2 bottom pair spots. Defenseman take time, I would rather let some of those guys develop. I also am almost certain that we take a defenseman in the first this year. I do agree that you probably aren't getting a young center for Walker, but you could get a draft pick that would allow you to trade for or draft that player.

From my understanding the Flyers are still planning to rebuild, so I don't know why they would give a first to get rid of a tank commander like Petersen.

why would the flyers do this? They give up Desnoyers who could potentially play 4c or winger in the NHL and is still young, a 1st, and their best tough player for two aging vets? All to dump a goalie who's contract is up next year?

Wow this might be the worst trade proposal I've seen yet. The Flyers aren't trading future assets for a backup goalie. Our President of hockey ops has mentioned that the teams goal is to have 3 1st round picks going into the 2024 draft. We are REBUILDING, get it through your thick skulls. We are rumored to be willing to move Walker, Laughton, Seeler and others. What part of that makes you think we would want an old ineffective winger and a goalie the Habs no longer want. You would have to give us a 1st to take those two, not the other way around.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>Taking back campbell is probably going to be a requirement to even propose a trade for him. The cap goes up 4 mil next year and our retentions will be ending after next year, as will our buyouts. Without the Hart extension also, we should have plenty of cap space for Draisaitl. You wouldn't pay a top 5 player in the league that much? He'd be 29 when we acquire him and 30 when the contract would go into effect - he 100% has 4-5 years left at this level you'd think, no? I think it's 100% worth it.</div></div>
He is still top 5 player in the world, I think Edmonton would ask for Andrae, Brink, or Forester instead of Attard. Just my opinion.

I would disagree with the way he's been playing but sure; Flyer could fit some salary on a 1 yr basis.

Need a 1C
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>This is interesting because it's basically a net 0 change in terms of firsts, and G's contract expires when Michkov comes over and hopefully Frost or Cates or whoever has finally solidified the 3C spot, and with the cap hit gone, we should be in the market for a true 1C since we don't have one in the pipeline, nor would we draft anyone next year or the year after who could fit that role. It would be a nice stop gap for the next year and a half, and wouldn't it be something if G returns and leads us to a little playoff success before he retires a Flyer, as it should have been the whole time. If we had the talent on the wings from 2016-2020 as we do now, he would still be here.</div></div>
G is honestly the perfect person we need as our 1C (which is ironic). Fanbase would accept it because hes a legend and the team would appreciate the support front office would show them. FLA 1st is expendable especially if we do acquire a 1st for Walker. Works for me.

I think Norris is the right player for the team but at the wrong price, even with the cap going up. I like the Brodie signing and I actually think Tipp gets at least 5mil.

This would be dumb to do. Andre needs to play to develop either he fully plays and gets real minutes or send him down. Using him in situations that are favorable to him won’t help him fully develop.

Few Ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sk540</b></div><div>Explain why. IMO it makes perfect sense.</div></div>
I agree the CGY deal makes alot of sense and gives them a good base of 3 dmen, all 28 yrs old or less, long term to either add vets or kids to, and allows them some stability to work on their forwards. The 2nd rounder, if thats what PHI adds would either be CBJ (high in the round) or the compensatory pick PHI gets (Jay OBrien). Maybe Hanifan gets a 1st and 2nd and a good midlevel prospect (ala Orlov) at TDL, but that doesn;t help for 2-3 years, while you're waiting for those guys to arrive, while guys like Kadri, Huberdeau, Wolf, Coronato are just waiting? and it still leaves CGY defense with just Rasmus and Weegar?
If Im CGY I do this deal, re-sign Zadorov in off season, (or Kylington in his make or break year, so maybe he plays well and you re-sign him and let Zadorov walk), but thats a solid defense with Weegar, Rasmus, Sanheim and Zadorov and bring up a kid or 2 next year and add a solid vet, and thats CGY defense looking pretty solid for the next 3 years with a fairly reasonable cap structure spread through the defense.
PHI is banking on Hanifan re-signing reasonably and CGY is banking on Sanheim rounding back into form
So it solves alot of worries on the defense AND it acquires a player who wants to be there.

Bran is an awesome D who just hasn't found the right fit here. Joseph is a reclamation project, and maybe a change of scenery will be nice for him. Sokolov is a well-liked teammate, who works extremely hard, a bit rough on the skating, but can fill out out the fourth line until/if you can find a right fit for him. The draft picks also help, while not robbing our cupboards. This way we can sign Pinto to a minimum one year deal.
Hopefully this sounds reasonable.</div></div>

Yes,
the BUF trade is an overpay from an earlier thread is definitely one PHI would take, maybe take out the 2nd.
The Hanifan trade, if PHI adds a 2nd instead of a 4th, would work (PHI will get a 2nd for Jay OBrien compensation, so they'll have 2) maybe. Hanifan would be a good add, and PHI would resign him.
The Mantha deal is superfluous and doesn;t really benefit either side.
However without that Mantha deal, you'd have 11mil in free cap, so could take a salary dump and also get a UFA - RD if need be, (Matt Dumba for 5mil)

Moot point anyway, Sens won't have much cap space after signing Pinto. They need a defensive 2-way forward more than anything</div></div>
TK to the Sens is pretty much a no go on this site. Sens fans say every top prospect is unavailable and every Sens team trade has them giving up TK for Joseph and chicken tender it seems lol.
