<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>-I haven't seen anything from Klingberg that would make me think he's worth a 1st round pick, even retained down to $3.5M. For an offensive RHD, he's barely outscored the guy the Isles would be trading away at 5v5 (Klingberg is 6-10-16 at ES; Mayfield is 5-9-14.) And if the Isles were looking for a PP QB, I don't know why they'd target a guy with 4 PP points in 45 GP despite getting 2:11 of power play time every night. I think the price is extraordinary for his production, and I also think the fit is awful - Klingberg hasn't shown that you should put him on PP1 over Noah Dobson this year, and being one of the top D on a team that is on pace to be the worst defensive team of the cap era doesn't make me feel too great about bringing him in, much less giving up a future 1st rounder &amp; a very strong defensive Dman in Mayfield.

-I think you gotta go full 50% on Henrique's retention to get the '23 1st; I wonder if Carolina is the best fit for Rico. I think there's something to build on here.

-Kulikov &amp; Grant trades are probably close to fair value (I'd peg those guys at 4th &amp; 5th round picks in a trade, respectively) and I'd say we probably don't know exactly where either one is going yet - both of these guys are decent enough to be able to slide in on probably a half-dozen contenders. I'd use my last retention slot on getting Kulikov down to $1.1M and open up his market a little more, but that's just me.</div></div>

Klingberg was put in a bad spot in Anaheim. The blueline is the worst we've seen in years and Klingberg was just trying to do too much and getting exposed. He was protected in DAL and NYI seems to have a D that could do the same for him, and let him do his thing without feeling like he has to do too much. That said, you arent wrong either, hes certainly only hurt his trade value. In the past month though hes been able to simplify his game and has been much improved.

Henrique gets a bad rap, and I dont know why. Hes been one of our most solid and trustworthy guys for years now. Hes not flashy but hes a top 6 that can play down the middle or the wing. With CAR being down Patches, I figured it wasnt a bad spot for him. Not a 1-for-1 replacement but he adds value and leadership. Anaheim should be willing to eat more salary if they need to.

You are probably right for Kulikov and Grant, but my asking price starts at 3rd/4th rounders and see where the market takes you.
