It was excruciatingly winnable tho and we blew it.

Its because he is bad 5 of 6 years in the playoffs. To steal a basketball term, he can be played off the court. For a player as good as him, taking up a critical amount of space - that is a huge issue

Kevin pappetti tweet says it all lul</div></div>
Yes were going to pick individual plays, because Mitch is on the wrong end of a ton of them and isnt providing any meaningful value.
He is a liability

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oneX</b></div><div>Fine is not good enough. If the Leafs want to have tangible playoff success, Marner has to be way better than fine.
When you make 10-11 sheets a year, that comes with added responsibilities, added pressures and yeah he's going to get critiqued moreso than the non core players.
He pits the media and fans as if what people say control his play. Go out and play, show why you're a top player in this league WHEN IT MATTERS.
Matthews really brought it in way last night that I haven't seen before and it refreshing to see. Good on him!</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>I know people using stats to attack Marner dont
The moment we see Ilya Lybushkin second in XGF shoot em into the sun
Marner's been fine this series. He's taking on the defensive assignments, he's been fine, dont be silly
If he was taking stupid penalties all through both game 1 and 2 fine but he's not.
Once Willy comes back everyone should start clicking as then the responsibility will lessen
As for the whole trade thing. Just wait for JT to go. There's the cap space. Marner comes back 1.1m raise and the remaining 9.9m can be used on a 2c and other area's</div></div>
Yeah, have you guys seen <a href="https://twitter.com/J_Swish24/status/1782576656403906813?t=GfYgFq2RPIvojMCVlYUKfg&s=19" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">this</a> ****?
This isnt a stats issue. This is outright a Marner issue

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NorthernLeafsFan05</b></div><div>Blaming Marner for that Pastrnak goal is crazy, that lands on Benoits shoulders.
Marner is a great player whose given a short leash. He's either forced to be Matthews' personal assistant or carry the load of Tavares and Knies. Under another coaches system, Marner would pot 40 goals.
If we were to trade him (which would be a huge mistake), I actually don't hate Random2152 's idea. I'd love to get Doan out of Arizona / Utah, big fan of that kid. I think Crouse would be an unmitigated disaster under Keefe though, he seems to struggle with players like that. Unless you are a low maintenance speedy 2 way winger, you won't find success under Keefe. He completely fails to utilize those wildcard players to their strengths. The only teams that make sense for Marner IMO are New Jersey and Utah. Again though, I'd be crushed to see him dealt</div></div>
Seems like a Trev kind of trade. 2 big local kids, a good young prospect whos also thr Son of our AGM - the possibility of an all Arizona line.

He'd be a rental because the only people in the world who think paying Marner 11 mill per is a good idea are TOR fans.
While the return there might not be McDavid, don't act like another teams guys as if they have no value.
Nothing here to make AZ bite on that. Marner most likely walks at the end of the year, and AZ gets nothing out of it. They aren't pressed in a closing window or something to get caught on the wrong side of that bad trade.</div></div>
The fact you keep saying Arizona really proves that you might not have your finger on the pulse here

CAR apparently is eyeing a Necas trade and Pesce on this team would have been very interesting
You then go trade the other guy for a more pick based haul to set up for later and with the remaining cap space keep Domi, Bertuzzi, etc</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Saskleaf</b></div><div>I’m only just tuning into the game but I literally didn’t even notice him in game 1. It just makes too much sense, trading him will free up enough cap space to land a couple top 4 d men and a starting goalie.</div></div>
Send him to Utah along with Kampf for local boys Crouse, McBain, and Doan. With Mitch's contract up I doubt we could get more

We needed to trade Mitch last summer. Hes doing it again. Hes compeltely lost out there. No mans land for both goals against. Done nothing of value in either game.

Also a former London Knight. I vaguely remember watching him back in his draft year, pretty physical guy. I like it a lot</div></div>
