I think that Mittlestadt and reinhart plus a first isnt bad but then your taking a cap dum adding 2 frst round picks on that and tage who has value and could end up being decent, pilut who looks to be a pretty good FA pick up for BUF and Ristolianen who is a good defender no matter what people say and if given a btter role could probley play much better.... i would say no deal</div></div>

Well, you're certainly not going to get the best player to lace up skates in the past 20 years with an underpayment. The point is to pay a lot to get him. With any trade involving Connor McDavid, the team acquiring 97, wins the trade IMO. Maybe I did go a little high, but the point is to make EDM say yes. Maybe I can take out Tage and a first. Or maybe take out Tage and Pilut and leave the firsts. Most every AGM where one acquires McDavid is an underpay. Most every AGM where one acts as Oilers GM trades away McDavid with an overpay in return. As a Sabres fan, I want to see how far I can push, how much I can give up and not feel terrible. It's easy to trade Sobotka and Scandella for a 2C in AGM, It's harder to trade away 3 of your past 5 first round picks. I certainly understand where you guys are coming from and fully expected fellow Sabre fans to quickly call this an overpay.
