<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>Then why is Rielly more relied on then any of those guys and Toronto still has 100+ points and is a playoff team?
Especially at even strength... Rielly's production at EV is the same as Adam Fox (38 points in 72 games) while playing more and getting harder minutes... (20:38 minutes a night at EV, 5th in the NHL and 2nd among playoff defensemen), so why aren't you discrediting them?
And Lindholm, Ekholm and Forsling aren't even the best defensemen on their own team!
So, Rielly is significantly better offensively, a much better playoff performer, plays more and is depended on more than those 3...</div></div>
If you wanna talk about 5v5 production Ekholm had more points than Rielly and Forsling had the same amount (36 for Ekholm, 30 for Forsling and Rielly) with Ekholm and Forsling both having more primary 5v5 points also (27 for Ekholm, 22 for Forsling, 20 for Rielly). They also played a similar amount of minutes at 5v5 (1345.5 for Ekholm, 1352 for Forsling, 1369 for Rielly)
Forsling, Ekholm, and Lindholm are also relied on to play on the PK. Forsling is far and away Florida’s #1 PK dman, and had the 2nd most PK minutes among dmen this season. Lindholm is Boston’s #2 PK dman, and Ekholm is Edmonton’s #3

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>Lindholm has under 30 points... And Rielly has 14 more points than Ekholm in 9 less games after his playoffs in 22-23
Forsling's also under 40 points...
Rielly's better than all 3 for sure...</div></div>
Lindholm did also put up 53 points last season while finishing 4th in Norris voting. But I’m also taking more than just their offense into account. All 3 of those guys are also very good defensively while Rielly is bad defensively. The gap between them and Rielly offensively is smaller than the gap between them and Rielly defensively
You can argue Rielly (or Hanifin) over Forsling or Lindholm but I’m taking those Lindholm and Forsling personally

Although he wouldn't be high on the top 10, I think he is in the conversation. Obviously his offensive game outweighs his defensive prowess, but he was top 10 in defensive scoring this year and he's honestly been really good for the Habs.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>Even you have to have Rielly in the top 10 over Ekholm and Forsling...
Rielly has more points than both, in less games played, playing 24 minutes a night on a consistent basis
Also swap Nylander and Marner... From a Leafs fan, Reinhart's been better than both but 16 has been way worse than 88 this year</div></div>
Forsling and Ekholm are both elite defensively while being able to put up 40-45 points. Both super underrated imo
If it was only based on this year I’d probably have Nylander above Marner but I’m also taking past play into consideration

Armia at 1.75M would have some value. He’s a good defensive and PK bottom 6 winger and played at a 20 goal 30 point pace this year
Then again you also called Monahan a cap dump and said he wouldn’t make Winnipeg’s lineup before they traded a 1st for him so not surprised you’re saying this

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AlTintin1122</b></div><div>ADB trade is the best comparable. Except Brady has more term.
So start with a top 6-7 pick , a 2nd rounder and a young player</div></div>
I’d say ADB was better than Brady though which could cancel out at least some of the value of the extra term
But a top 6/7 pick, a 2nd, and a young player is quite a bit less than Lekkerimaki + Willander + a 1st like you suggested as an offer from the Canucks

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AlTintin1122</b></div><div>Nah the biggest difference is the circumstances . Eichel trade is absolutely not a comparable. The Sens do not move Brady unless they get a piece with top line or top pair RD potential. Pieces like Mercer are not that</div></div>
1 for 1 trades like that rarely happen. One comparable for that would be Hall to NJ which was straight up for Adam Larsson. Although there is Chiarelli tax on that one
There’s no great comparable for a Brady trade under current circumstances though. Eichel, Hall to NJ, and ADB to Ottawa are probably the best comparables out there that I can think of. I could easily be forgetting others though

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheBoyDuddus</b></div><div>This made up scenario everyone is exploring revolves around the idea of teams going to Ottawa and asking for Brady. Brady's not asking for a trade. Eichel trade cant be used as a comparable at all, he not only asked for a trade but forced his way to Vegas while going rogue and against team doctors (good for him, it worked) for a largely unproven surgery that couldve left him paralyzed......
Willander, Lekkerimaki and a late 1st would be a legitimate offer. Hronek and Demko is just being greedy. But if teams dont want to move Dobson, Faber or Nemec then why would Ottawa be motivated to move Brady? You have to give to get or Ottawa just hangs the phone up.</div></div>
If the Canucks were to trade two very good-elite prospects in Lekkerimaki and Willander PLUS a 1st it would be to acquire a superstar player

Yes a team would have to overpay to get him, but what that Sens can told me earlier was absurd
I’ve also seen Sens fans ask for a package starting with Dobson, Faber, or Nemec which is pretty ridiculous
The Eichel deal is probably the best comparable imo. Some differences there (Eichel is a C and a better player, but also needed neck surgery. Ignoring the trade request as I assume the only way Brady gets moved is if he asks for a trade)

I had a Sens fan earlier tell me it would cost the Canucks Demko + Hronek + Lekkerimaki + Willander + a 1st
Sens fans seem to think Brady is a superstar who’s a top 10 player in the league when in reality he’s a good but not elite 1st liner who’s a fringe PPG guy and bad defensively. He’d get a very good return in a trade yes but not as much as some Sens fans are demanding

He’s probably gonna finish top 3 for the Vezina this year and has been great-elite as a starter apart from the 15 games he played injured at the start of last year
If you think Demko is an average goalie that’s like saying Brady is an average-below average LW
