Tampa Bay Lightning signed Kevin Shattenkirk (1 Year / $1,750,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeastModeUnknown</b></div><div>Point will sign for 9 plus that leaves 1.3 yes. Vasi increases by 6 Million next year. Which means you have no cap whatsoever. Miller deal didn't help them get out of the hole.</div></div>
if Point signs for 9 that leaves us with $5 million next year lmfao are you even paying attention at all? you clearly aren't all that intelligent so no need to keep talking with ya, peace

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeastModeUnknown</b></div><div>You seem to forget that Vasilevskiy's contract moves up by 6 Million Next year, you still have to re-sign Sergachev and Cernak next season, Cirelli needs to also be re-signed. So please sign Point for that much and give up everyone else who comes around.</div></div>
i didn't forget anything lmfao they can sign all of those guys, just gotta move out that Killorn contract since his NTC becomes an M-NTC, and boom you've got 8-9 million to work with before the cap rises. not worried in the slightest bud

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMarch</b></div><div>I think "fans" need to realize that the cap isn't going to go up much (if at all) next year due to the contract negotiations. Everyone thought the cap would be $83mm this year, and it's $81.5mm. Everyone will be lucky if it breaks $83mm next year (I actually expect it to go to $82mm because of the lockout possibility).
That being said, the moves listed here are reasonable, though I think someone like Johnson would get moved before Joseph, mainly because of potential return, salary, and age. Next year, the average age of the team will be close to 30, and you could start to see older players being moved out as the Stanley Cup window starts to shut, and it refreshed for younger talent. Johnson would fit perfectly on a contending team as a middle 6 C.</div></div>
also, if you're insinuating that I'm not a fan because I was optimistic about the cap rising then holy **** you're dense

No-Trade Clauses my friend, both Palat and Johnson have them, and there's no way they're waiving them

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>johnston3504</b></div><div>ya but the same could be said for marner and tavares but players agents dont seem to be looking at it that way.</div></div>
Marner seems to be a huge exception to this because he was his team's leading scorer while two guys he outplayed (in his/his agents eyes) made $11+ million. Point has been very vocal about caring more about winning than money and wanting to work out a deal to stay in Tampa, so I fully expect $9m to be where he lands

okay well if that's the case then I'd trade the last season of Paquette and Coburn's contracts to offset that $1m lost and sub in ELC guys

Also you need 23 players to start the season so I dont know if you are assuming Sergy or Cernak are gonna be signed after Oct 1st or it was just a mistake.</div></div>
can't trade Palat because of the full NTC, and no he ain't waiving it. Cernak deserves more money, hence the 2 year bridge deal to help him get paid once Palat and Johnson are offloaded through trades/expansion draft. and you need 21 if I'm not mistaken and I just forgot to put Gemel Smith on the active roster lol

you mean "at most" lol, he's got three more years of RFA status, which are less expensive. no chance he gets more than them, especially when the argument could be made that he was partially a product of kucherov this season

cap space, with McDonagh and Hedman on the books forever and Cernak and Sergachev needing contracts (they're not trading them as much as people like to believe they will), they can't afford another big name guy like that in the d-core
