Ridiculous.</div></div>
though process is he is worth a 3rd if he had a lower cap hit. Blackhawks have cap space and $ but lack a full line up of nhl players.
also i think 10+ 1st and 2nd round picks in next 3 years so lower picks will be squeezed out anyways.

savoie for a steady RHD and a mid 1st isnt bad. sadly looks least ready of the 3x 1st rounders for that draft

Schneider on his ELC is more important to the Rangers, the solution is moving Trouba next offseason.</div></div>
It won't happen just like he won't be on elc next year either. Is the value fairly even tho yes

In like 6 years after fox and truba are gone? Also this is a mid season rental trade hints the title.

not going to far back into the past but dury traded a 1st, 3rd and 2 prime age players for Tarasenko and a 3rd pair dman.
i would argue that Schneider would not fetch a 1st and 3 other pieces. tho defantaly still a solid player just doesnt have the high offensive skill level.
(i should add that buffalo should just want solid shut down guy to pair with there high skill dmen)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>Not about to disagree with your Okoposo assessment. But, as a 4th line guy, he did just fine last year. Having a vet presence on the ice will not be a bad thing. I would say it's why Johnson was signed in the back end, where they were certainly better options, but, there is something to be said about the veteran calm.
Again, I agree with you on Kulich and Rousek. And they very well may make the team.out if camp. But I see Oloffson as a known entity - his strengths and flaws. He is a 20 goal scorer..... and if moved up the lineup, maybe hits 30. Adding in the fun fact that Mittlestadt was top 5 in the NHL last year in primary assists over 60 minutes (right?), it could be an offensive boost if that trend continues. For me there is no doubt Kulich and Rousek are going to be NHLers, I just debate if this is the year..... 24-25, is what I am thinking.
Have to keep in mind, the Atlantic changed dramatically for 23-24. The Leafs are the Leafs (noting I am not a fan of what they did), the Panthers I think bounced back as a regular season force. Tampa and Boston took big steps back - which opens up playoff possibilities for the Sens, Detroit and yes.... Buffalo.
Starting the kids seeing that possibility is risky in the sense of they are rookies making rookie mistakes - which would be highlighted by just how young this team is. Oloffson is just the entity you know what you're getting. And something tells me that if it looks like the Sabres miss going into the deadline, Oloffson then gets more than he does in the offseason.</div></div>
Kind of a big thing with adams & donny was that they said we arnt arnt going to stick with the statis qoe we are going to give the young players a chance to grow into there position.
other than the massive return from philly thats why risto was even avalabel.
olo can score goals thats his forte, kulich can too either are fine but kulich is getting known for playing better in d zone. olo was also benched at end of the year for d zone lapses

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>With Quinn being out for the year, I simply don't see Olofsson moving at this point. Play Okposo as well, and let Rousek and Kulich get big minutes in Rochester; and both would be first call ups as well. Adam's has this team in a spot where there is no need to rush development.
I am also luke warm on moving Jokiharju. He has game, and both Clifton and Johnson allow him to be put in a position to excel. Granted, he is running out of runway in Buffalo, but I think seeing what he has to start the season is worth it. For the first time as a Sabre, he will be fighting for icetime. Maybe the push he needs, or could be the push out. Just wouldn't be hasty.</div></div>
okpo can't keep up anymore its very obvious when he is trying to get into an odd man rush.
rousk and kulich had great years in ahl and are ready for nhl according to adams
i like olo but kulich has a more complete game already than olo, may not have the same scoring touch initially but too good for ahl at this point.
(was also something in the news about olo expecting to be traded this offseason tho was before quinn injury)
Jok was not brought in by Adams so i kind of expect his prefrence to be the 3 rhd he brought in going forward.

small price to pay for not going 0-82 for being over the cap with a short handed roster.
5 players to sign to fill out roster and over that cap already.
in all seriousness its probably going to cost a 1st for next season. leafs dumped the same cap hit to Carolina not to long ago for a 1st rounder.

i would say he currently has some value in bottom 6. but guys that play hard nose bottom 6 min wear down faster. its just hard to justify the length of contract at that cost.
Toronto gave Canes a 1st for 1 year at 6m$ to marleau not to long ago. Goodrow has 14.5m$ish left on his contract.
side note no team wants to help out rangers and give fair deal if they are struggling to get under cap. vultures

He'll buyout Goodrow before it gets to that point. You have a better chance of offer-sheeting K'Andre Miller. 3 years 4 mil for Lafreniere gets matched anyway. You're looking north of 6 on a 1 year deal. That's a 1st and 3rd. Maybe even then the Rangers match, hard to say</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyIsMyPassion61</b></div><div>Chris Drury would easily match that offer sheet on Alexis Lafreniere, He'd move Barclay Goodrow if need be. Even if he has to pay a little to cut him loose.</div></div>

Trade him would cost more then a 2nd. possible a first+ because of that length of contract and lack of production.

You don't know a player is going to get offer sheeted it's pretty rare.
I would imagine dury would let teams know he would prefer a trade for a 2nd round pick so it doesn't look as bad. Maybe a couple random prospects swap as well.
