Daniel Carr also lead the AHL once
I like Jarvis and I do think he will be a very good player. But AHL success doesn’t guarantee anything

It's not like a 13th OA pick is guaranteed not to bust or anything. It'd be foolish to trade a star player for a single prospect. That's a huge amount of risk for NSH, and while Jarvis looks very promising the odds of him maybe being as good as Forsberg someday are quite slim. That's not a knock against Jarvis - that's just because of the unpredictability of prospects in general.</div></div>
The ol “this prospect will definitely be better than that already proven NHLer and I know this for fact”

You don't need to worry because the Preds would not accept this.

NCAA player swap before they become free agents this summer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>If one were to make a simple assessment based on a handful of games' stats, sure.
But some NHL clubs hire scouts.
Farrance has played 10 games this year (16 pts).
Over the NCAA careers, Farrance has 88 pts in 112 gp (0.79 ppg)
Thompson has 93 pts in 100 gp (0.93 ppg).
And Farrance said last year, when he announced a return for senior season, that he would go to free agency after.
Thompson has not said this (and could return for another year at Providence).
I assure you both are legit NHL prospects and could be in NHL as early as this season.</div></div>
Do you have a link where that was said?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SevenLeg</b></div><div>It's totally understandable if he doesn't trade him. It's just a source that I trust on Twitter that said Bergevin has called on Forsberg.
As for the trade, I'd say that more or less 3 1st round picks is pretty good futures, especially for a player one year removed from UFA who can't come with extension.</div></div>
Yeah Poile said he’s fielded calls on Forsberg for sure. And again I don’t think it’s a bad trade (honestly I would have to look into the prospects as I admittedly don’t know much about other teams prospect pools if they aren’t the huge names) but I just don’t think it hits the “absolute slam dunk” poile is looking for. He likely tries to resign him next year and if he can’t get a deal, he flips him at next years deadline.
Which sucks because then the Preds get less assets for a true rental.

Not knocking your deal but Poile has pretty much said he’s not trading Forsberg unless there is a deal he can’t pass up. It would have to be a slam dunk win for him in the long run. This deal isn’t that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>josi4norris</b></div><div>I agree that Saros is off to a rough start this year (which happens every year with him for some reason), but is this season the only one that matters? Because if we look at the past couple of seasons, it's a different story when comparing the two. He's also a bit cheaper than Freddy. Not saying the Leafs take this, but I don't know that the Preds love it either.</div></div>
He used one stat (that played in his favor) and the fact that I misspelled a name to try to prove his point. That’s the type of person you can’t argue with. If I cared (I don’t) I could pull a ton of stats and then just present the ones that make my case. Either way the “who is better debate” is still opinion at the end of the day.

Nashville likely trades no players to the leafs this year. I think Ekholm goes to Philly and Arvidsson goes to Boston. Then Granlund, Cousins and Richardson would be the only other players traded and they will be scattered. (Gran the most likely of any of them to be a leaf). I just like messing around on here. It’s supposed to be for fun but some people just take it way too seriously. Turns out non of us are GMs

There shouldn't be a doubt who is the better goalie there.</div></div>
It is opinion. That’s why i said “opinion”. Again, figured that explained it but apparently not. Imagine not taking into consideration the different caliber in teams these goalies play for. It’s ALMOST like you don’t understand hockey.

In a vacuum, the value probably isn't that bad, but I don't think there is any feasibility here.</div></div>
100% this trade never happens. But I appreciate you see the value is, at the least, close. I do think Ekholm plays top 4 minutes on that team and I think putting Fil and Gran with Mathews, Tavares, Nylander and Marner the best top 6 in the league. Even better than Tampa (although they are ridiculously stacked too)

Preds would be better off splitting them all up into different trades and pulling in more assets

Leafs - Win Now Trade with VGS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justin2_m</b></div><div>There's about a 6 year age difference between the players being traded (Fleury - 36, Anderson - 31; Marchessault - 30, Nylander - 24). Instead of Vegas having 2 starting goalies, you shift to having a starter and a solid backup. They move that cap upfront into a player who will continually improve over the next few years, especially with the help of Vegas' exceptional training facilities. You also upgrade a late 2nd round pick to a late 1st which just acts as the cherry on top. It's also a cap neutral trade which means neither team gains or loses any cap space.</div></div>
They move from an early 2nd to a late 1st. A wash. They move from a very good goalie to a not very good goalie. And they move from a goal scorer to a slightly better goal scorer. They are slightly better later but not any better today. They are in win now mode. Makes no sense.

I would take it. Make the 2nd in 2022 conditional if the Leafs make the finals in either year, it becomes at 1st and it would be an instant yes.
