Sure. Add a 3rd and probably CHI accepts. But you'd probably be better off finding a team that is actually interested in JP or just let him walk. Most teams won't be interested in giving up assets for him with the QO he is due. So, I can't really see anyone trading for his rights.

think you forgot to sign Puljujarvi? and if EDM trades him, it'll be for a roster player and not just a pick imo

Good luck with that.
With dubois, wheeler and likely schiefele on the move thats a TON of scoring removed from the lineup.

I think the ducks would prefer Broberg or Holloway, but Savoie is at least interesting. That’s a package I feel like ANA would have to at least consider

He'd deinifetly say no to this given that since coming back he's been elite defensively producing at a 0.5/GP and that's while being statistically unlucky. Unless Holland gets a deal that improves the team/knock his socks off, he's staying in yeg. I think Yamo has a bigger shot of leaving cause of value and org needs.</div></div>
I'm fully aware of Holland not being interested in moving Puljujarvi like 2 years ago. Time has past and things have changed, he could definitely be moved for what would be an underwhelming package in mine and your eyes.
I agree that he's underrated and SHOULD fetch more than this. But if Holland doesn't want to pay Pool Juice what he wants I could definitely see something along these lines getting it done

70 million is the headline and not even the gross amount... To get to a realistic net number to compare to your 600-700k you have to minus escrow, minus taxes, minus expenses and then after that there is the big minus... divorce.
LTIRetire would be more likely than retire if you can get the league and doctors to sign off on that

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jjkhairaELTE99</b></div><div>I mean Puckpedia are the experts relating to cap-specific and contract-specific situations. Nhl teams even use the site. I'd take their expert analysis of all things CBA over a guy that did a quick google search of the CBA and a tsn article on a forum post. In terms of cap recapture penalities, the cost part of recapture always goes back to the team that originally signed the deal. See Vancouver alla luongo as an example. I don't claim to be a CBA expert, I just trust the information provided by the experts on that matter.</div></div>
Oh Gosh Dang. Puckpedia is right. I had this super long write up about Luongo being the perfect example and when I went to do the math...Illustration #4 is exactly what Puckpedia is using.
The summary being...since Keith was traded when his salary was ALREADY LOWER than his cap hit then per the letter of the CBA, they don't have and have never had a cap advantage. They have a cap loss that needs to be recouped.

I don't think Petrov and Savoie are B prospects. Each would command a 1st round pick if traded today. I agree Holloway and Broberg aren't going anywhere - Holland already refused to include Broberg in a Chychrun trade, no way he's going to give up a better prospect like Holloway. Even Bourgault is an overpay IMO - look what Mercer has done in the NHL this year. Would you trade him + 1st + Samorukov + Smith for Chychrun?

It's a lot to gamble on a guy who is 26 and has had just 1 great year in the KHL so far. Panarin was 23 when he signed and coming off a 1.15 P/GP campaign. At the same age, Kuzmenko was 0.67 P/GP - not even in the same stratosphere.
Gusev is a much closer comp - he was 1.15 P/GP as a 25-year-old and 1.32 P/GP as a 26-year-old, at which point he signed as a UFA for $4.5M x 2. It turned out to be a disaster.

I mean if risto can get for a mid 1st the oil can definitely get a 2nd rounder without retaining</div></div>
Risto and Barrie are so different.
Barrie is a 3rd pair PP specialist that can’t defend.
Risto is a physical top4 pair that can bring a little offence.
But I understand not wanting to swap an overpaid RHD for an overpaid winger.
Just think Hoffman could be a good fit with your forwards group and you could take a less costly more stay at home option for your 3rd pair behind Bouch and Ceci. Thanks for the input!

Realistic Ideal Offseason
I wouldn't mind getting Foegele but not for a 3rd, I'd consider a 4th maximum.
Warren is very good defensively and is a great PK-player who is a scoring threat. He has a great Giveaway/Takeaway ratio and hitting and shotblocking is good and he has good stats 5-on-5. His rather low scoring looks to be due to him not getting any PP-time.
He'd be a perfect replacement for Adam Erne for Detroit.

The Oilers confidently decline.
Playing Devils advocate here: even if Comtois projects as a more prolific scorer, there is so much value on Holloway costing less than a million towards the cap. The Oilers are stretched <em>thin</em> next season thanks to Holland's handiwork this past summer.
Personally, I think Holloway ends up a better player than Comtois.

Maybe, hard to say. I think Flowers at this point wants to win or stay in Chicago; if his family loves Chicago and his kids are making friends, I don't see him going anywhere but hard to know what's happening in his personal life.

The BHagel is worth giving up lots for with a contract like that. Its quite a bit for EDM to give up but not pieces that would hurt them down the road too much. If CHI accepts, it might be a tough pill to swallow especially if Fleury walks away but you for sure have hagel for a couple more years. YES for EDM, CHI though, unless someone is offering a 1st, 3rd and a Lavoie type prospect for the BHagel, CHI might do this, but if they can get that for BHagel then they may as well do that and get another 1st for retaining MAF and taking an expiring contract. So I think No for CHI. Might be able to get 2 1st would be why
