I think the St.Louis trade offers a reasonable place to start looking as what a Marchand trade may look like. The 39 year-old returned a 1st and a 2nd with a cap dump (Ryan Callahan) going back to the Lightning at the 2014 deadline. In the four and a half seasons leading up to him being traded, Marty went 351GP - 131G - 257A - 388P (1.105p/gp).

Marchand's past four seasons of work give us 272GP - 125G - 211A - 336P (1.235p/gp). He's five years younger, produces more, and likely won't require a cap dump as the Bruins should most definitely have the cap space to afford a full retention on Marchand. Two first round picks is going to be the absolute minimum you would see in return for Marchand and at a certain point there's an argument to be made in favour of cost benefit in giving up high-end prospects in exchange of those high picks. Argue his health all you want, he's going to get all the time in the world to recover fully as the Bruins at large appear committed to not contending next season.

If they move him at the upcoming deadline or the 2023 draft, the price tag goes up due to the term associated with a full season or playoffs plus full season of Marchy.

I don't know which team is going to pull the trigger. I don't know which prospects are going to be involved. All I know is that the return will be substantial based on precedence.
