God I hope the Canes pass I don’t want anything to do with that contract that’s 1.5 mill too much for 5 years longer than it should be.
And you’re right the difference isn't 2 2nds, it’s way more! Granlund is offensivly what you guys hoped JK would be! And not a 4th line overpaid problem.

Also this is terrible for the Sharks.
Emberson was fantastic when healthy. Pohlkamp is a very solid RHD prospect + Blackwood and a 2nd makes no sense. I like Rodrigues but they could easily get a player of his quality (or much better) in Free Agency.
I'd consider Blackwood with no retention 1 for 1 for him, anything more is crazy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glarson17</b></div><div>I tend to agree with that, however I’ve heard multiple scouting reports say he still has stuff to work on in his overall game. If the sharks get Celebrini, I think it’s fine that smith goes back and is the guy at BC being 1C. I know college players can be tough to handle, see Cutter Gautier, so if there’s a similar situation just sign him.</div></div>
Honestly it comes down to what both players want! If they want to go back to college for a year let them if both want To come over, remind them it’s not a guaranty they make the roster and could end up starting the season in the AHL! if they still want to sign, sign them. In the end it’s very important to treat them like adults let them have a say and be honest and open, lies deceit and forcing them one way or another could destroy the relationship with the club and I don’t want that!

You are probably right! I just wanted to throw a trade out there and see reactions. That pick never moves so it's very much a hypothetical. I'm rooting for you guys to get that pick and not Chicago. I just can't stand they get everything after the bull**** that happened there.

What in the world is the incentive here for SJ. Wahlstrom is straight up bad, as is Pageau who's on a terrible contract.
Granlund has had an unbelievable year on the worst team I've ever seen and is a leader for the young guys on that team. He's easily worth a high 2nd/late 1st.

Sharks probably leverage this deal for something better from someone else, even if it's just a sooner 3rd than 3 drafts from now.
