Don't see this working for Philly, I' viewing it as Laughton for the 1st, 3rd for taking on Murray. It's been reported that a late first for Laughton was turned down.

You're right Marner could get a bigger return, but why would they give up two good assets that combined make roughly $2 million less dollars than Marner and a 1st? They would more likely than not have to retain on Marner it wouldn't be easy to move nearly $11 million laughton and TK individually are easier to move contract wise with out having to retain when they likely are going to use one spot on Hayes. I'd rather use the cap space to gain assets by taking on bad contracts than to pay for Marner, retain to move him and get a slightly better return.

Holes in FACandidates
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Exactly the same thought as above....
With Couts, Frost and Cates down the middle there is a hole at 4C, somebody who can step up if Coots can;t do it, Frost doesn;t deliver or Cates has to move to LW. Kampf, with good speed and defense would be my preference, but Ultimately a guy who is solid both ways, even a 1 year UFA.
(Don;t make me say it, but a Jeff Carter)</div></div>
Only if Carter comes with a second round pick for our good friend Future considerations lol

If TK goes, then obv slot Tippett at 1RW and Foerster at 2RW
That Farabee Frost Foerster line could be stud like - the dynamic of all 3 players I think is a home run, loved what i saw out of it for that small sample size.
Also taking a page out of Seattles book with continuously rolling solid lines instead of having a 4th line of checkers energy guys, i think a Brink or an Allison on the 4th line RW w/ Desnoyers as C of course, would be huge.</div></div>
Only worry about a 1st line of Cam-Coots-TK is the two players not having played in at least a year getting those minutes. I mean I guess with could help in the race for Celebrini. A TK-Coots-Tippett could just be so fun to watch. I could also definitely get behind a Farabee-Frost-Foerester line to good playmakers to let foerester rip it.

Hopefully Desnoyers is going to slot in that 4C spot. If TK is still here I guess they could move him to LW and have a middle 6 RW of Foerster and Brink or Atkinson

Could still be considered a 2nd line winger at only 24 I think, if given the right opportunity on the right team, 1st and 2nd round picks like I said. Eichel level trade.
You gotta remember that it was known that Eichel wanted to leave to everyone at the time also, and that was the best offer from a team he wanted to play on probably.</div></div>
Exactly, it was known Eichel wanted out and he was injured with a neck injury that they surgery he wanted had never been performed on an NHL player. He was always going to get less than market value. I'm confused by the comparison between Hyman and Yamamoto are you just trying to show they have similar numbers? I think the big difference in opinion is value of Yamamoto. That said I know Holloway you said is needed would TK 50% retained for Holloway, 1st, 2nd, 2nd Ceci do it? I'm not against Bourgault but feel like it would follow the structure you said earlier.

Buffalo got an a level prospect, a good second liner, a 1st and a 2nd. Eichel probably should have gotten more but Buffalo was in no position to ask for anything more as Eichel wasn't going to get the surgery they wanted and would still be sitting on LTIR if they didn't take the best offer they got.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OilednGreasy</b></div><div>Oilers aren't adding anything to move Yamamoto. If no teams want him he can be waived to cost $1,950,000, and if teams still don't want him after he could then be sent down at any point of the season without going through waivers the Oilers can buy him out for $433,334 next season and $533,334 in 24/25. Yamamoto is not near as bad as people are trying to make him out to be too. Oilers fans and media love to chase players out of town, see: Jordan Eberle.
Oilers need to be better defensively. Edmonton's best offence in the league doesn't really need Konecny, but I could see it as Philly wants to do him a solid while he's in his prime and they're rebuilding with the understanding that they want him back when he's a UFA. This is if TK thinks he's got a chance to win in EDM. The Oilers will not be able to sign him, Draisaitl's contract is up at the same time.
It's been reported that the Flyers head european scout from Sweden may like Broberg, but...
I believe the best Philly could hope for from the Oilers after retaining 1/2 of TK's contract is receiving Broberg or Bourgault, Yamamoto, 1st and a 2nd in return. Holloway is needed now and I think unavailable.</div></div>
I don't think he's a bad player just not worth the money. In this you're replacing Yamamoto's money for 400k more and more production. Adding TK next Mcdavid or Draisaitl I could easily see him being an 85+ point guy. I don't think it's about doing the player a solid I think there's a fit in EDM for a scoring winger with speed and tenacity. Would I hate the trade being around Broberg? No but I think a winger makes more sense in return. Even if Yamamoto make it though waivers that's still money and a contract spot that could be put to use elsewhere.

I just went to the NHL website that had him listed at a .906. I really don't think he's going to be moved, would definitely be a though pill to swallow which is why I don't think he will be unless its a massive haul which is very unlikely

seeking a goalie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>I think OP has it so that the Cap can work. The main pieces for Philly are the 3 extremely young and high quality prospects/picks.
I think it's a massive overpay for a .904 career average goalie. That's 3 first round level pieces and a really serviceable top-6 player for someone who hasn't lived up to expectations, regardless of how bad the defense was in front of him. Korpisalo last year had a worse defense in front of him and put up a 0.913. Even if there is a 2nd coming back, it's still pushed a year down the road.
No thanks for LA.</div></div>
I get it's for cap purposes but that doesn't mean it make's sense to take the contract. Like you said in your other comment we already have a Kupari type prospect in Desnoyers and whenever Gauthier is ready and is playing center we have Cates to slot into that role. Kaliyev is someone who I've like and wish the flyers took in that draft so he's of interest. In this scenario while Arvidsson has value he would be viewed as a cap dump cause of length of contract.
As far as Hart goes, his career save percentage is as low as it is because of one abysmal season weighing it down. It's also not as bad as you have it sure it's not much better but .906 is what it is. He was top 15 in GSAx this season while playing 55 games behind a terrible defense, 16 more games played than Korpi. Another factor in expecting a larger return is that goalies that are 24 and have 200 games played don't exist, most are just starting to play at his age. If he's on a remotely solid defensive team no doubt in my mind he's a top tier goalie.
