<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>The only cap benefit it has for the Wild is we lose Kulikov's cap hit. There is no benefit for us to take on any LTIR. We could achieve the same result by trading Kulikov for future considerations.</div></div>
I think the thing that everyone forgets is that the Bolts traded for Seabrook in the offseason when you can be over the cap by 10% also Johnson had a 5 million dollar cap hit and Seabrook was 6.875 so it was almost a wash there. The only time the Bolts gained from this trade was AFTER the first game of this past season because before they could put Seabrook on LTIR they had to be cap compliant BEFORE they could move Seabrook to LTIR. If I remember correctly they were short player/players the first game because Seabrook was still on the active roster the first game this past season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JayTea</b></div><div>And that's just it: <strong>A</strong> piece. Not all of our top prospects and a few roster players like Sabres fans think. I could see something like Fiala, Khovanov or Khusnutdinov, a couple 1st round picks, Rask for cap, and some other random pick/prospect. Guerin (or any other GM) aren't giving up things they'll need to contend to get Eichel, such as potential production on ELCs from guys like Rossi or Boldy (if Fiala is in the deal). If Buffalo moves Eichel, they're admitting the rebuild failed and starting over.</div></div>
That move may be coming soon the Sabres are getting run today again by the Islanders.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Reinhart isn't a center.
I think the idea of trading for Eichel would be to get him to play <em>with</em> Kaprizov. I'm fine with the idea of including Fiala even if it stings, we have a glut of winger prospects and Fiala is about to get paid. If Fiala is in the package for Eichel, I'd imagine Rossi and Boldy would likely be off the table.</div></div>
Ok was not sure about Reinhart as a center but makes sense. Interesting the only question is how much better does that make us with Eichel but without Fiala? Not saying Fiala is anywhere near Eichel but maybe we do have the wing prospects to replace Fiala.

Yea but I have a feeling that the Rask/Dubby situation will be easier to take care of than Zucc and call me crazy but I would not mind keeping Zucc for another year in hopes that in his second year here he can develop chemistry with someone.

Why do you think the Wild/Fans on here would be so quick to trade Staal?? I get it if the above happens and we can bring in two younger centers but Staal was still productive this year and has been since he came here? I know he does not have many years left but I think there are other more pressing issues than getting rid of Staal.

That being said, I really don't like your trades Dumba is worth far more than Johnson and Point is a star, Brodin isn't</div></div>
That's fine but I did say more could be added by both sides to make the trade more even just not sure what exactly that would be.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>I mean you just said it yourself: they are screwed with cap. So IF we want to trade them a Brodin, Dumba, or hell even a Zucker or Foligno, there's no way they can afford to take those players without giving us a player with a higher cap. They literally cannot make a trade where they give us straight picks and prospects for Brodin/Dumba/Zucker/Foligno since they don't have the cap space to make it happen. That's why they are such bad trading partners for us because we need picks and prospects (or at least a young NHL player that would have a low cap hit like Cirelli) if we trade any of those guys, not your Gourde/Killorn/Johnson/Palats of the world.</div></div>
Why do you think Tyler Johnson is not a fit here?? They need D-men to help fill out there roster but in order to do that they need to give up Fowards on the current roster to a make it work.

Get some righties on the wing.</div></div>

Hartman however...</div></div>
I think Hartman is going to replace JT Brown maybe even by training camp if the Wild don't trade him before. Either way I don't think there is anyway Brown comes back after this year.

Trade with Van
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Zucker is a lot better than you think. Here's a quote from The Athletic that really puts things into perspective
"Zucker, one of the Wild’s fastest players, ranks tied for 47th in the NHL the past three seasons with 76 goals and tied for 34th with 60 even-strength goals."
Not just among wingers, but <em>47th in the NHL over 3 seasons</em> in goals and <em>34th in the NHL</em> for even-strength goals. That's top-line forward production. He's not a superstar or anything, but he's a really solid winger and way better than people give him credit for IMO.</div></div>
Look I get it Zucker is better than Avg but maybe it's just the idea that he is from the old guard and I just want a change because this team has not done much with him and the guys that have been traded.

I'm fine with moving Zucker for a young right shot player, but I wouldn't be happy if it were for Virtanen and Gaudette.
Edit: Also, our owner doesn't want a rebuild (which is what waiting for the Parise and Suter contracts to run out would be). He wants to try and win every year since playoff revenue puts money in his pockets</div></div>
I know but he is an Idiot who can't see the forest for the trees this Wild Team is not going to do much in the West the way it is now. If they do make the playoffs they will be done in the first or second round as usual.

What am I missing why would we not do this trade (besides the cap issues)?? We get younger and right shots and Zucker is still part of the old guard that were supposed to take this team to the next level and they did not that's why they are gone. I say get as young as we can around Parise and Suter while we wait for there contracts to run out and at this point I think that change just for the sake of change maybe the best route at this point for this team.
