Yep you are correct. This was based on their morning skate but Cooper being Cooper changed it up. They did end up going with 11/7.

Latest Brayden Point Rumor
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Wonder if he would go to Detroit Yzerman and all being both</div></div>
I could see a lot of trades between JBB and Yzerman. (Just like TBL and NYR have done.) They have a great relationship. They aren't gonna screw each other over. Both can help each other. DET is where TBL was a few years ago. TBL is in "win now" mode. So different goals right now for each team so why not make deals where both teams win the trade. Also, it's very low risk for Yzerman to pick up players he knows very well. Lastly, Tampa players would probably waive NTC's knowing it's Yzerman and Yzerman will have DET competitive soon enough.

Completely agreed. I would guess that (b/c of fl tax breaks) that would value Marner at $9M-$9.5M based on Point's deal. That would be great for TOR :)

Colburn resigned and meaning
Look I know as Lightning fans, we want to see them go out and get an awesome defenseman BUT JBB may not. We have to manage the cap this yr and especially next year. Vinik expects to contend for the cup every year so you have to keep a long term view always going. Just look at how good our top 4 is already. I would pair them like this:
Heddy - Serg
McD - Cernak
Cobby - Rutta
Also, keep in mind, Foote is not ready yet but he is really close. He had a slow start last year (his 1st pro year) but towards the 2nd 1/2 of the season, really started to get it and picked it up. Probably needs about another good 1/2 a season with top line minutes (and power play time) in Syracuse before moving him up. So we could see him up in the NHL with us after Christmas. Maybe sooner if someone gets hurt or if he is tearing it up down there.
With Foote in:
Heddy - Cernak
McD - Foote (Mcd can help Foote's rookie year like he did Cernak)
Serg - Cobby/Rutta
Healthy scratch Cobby/Rutta
That's my take. Go Bolts!

Bringing in dat Swagger son
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zwui21</b></div><div>Oh I fully agree on Point being the real deal for years to come, if there was no salary cap to manage I'd sign him for the rest of his career hahaha. Jokes aside I could also see him being signed to a 5 years, 8M AAV deal. Fair contract that, as you said, locks him up until Stammer contract is over. To be honest what i don't see is Tampa signing him max term, the cap hit would probably be too high. In my opinion both 3 or 5 years make the most sense.
I can see your "swagger" argument, but in my opinion after this year's debacle, the boys need an important addition to the roster. Doesn't matter if it's swagger or flow. To bring the guys back boosted morally and physically, excited about what's next and in order to wash away that failure feeling asap.
I cannot deny that I've been dreaming of Karlsson joining Tampa since last year's july when we all saw that "I'm told that Karlsson to Tampa is a done deal".
Adding him to the roster would incredibly hype our guys up + we'd gain a player that can get us to beat the 1-2-2 trap.
And, when an all star player like karlsson wants to play for your team, you gotta find a way to make the money work. Especially if he'd be willing to take a paycut.
My perfect offseason?
- re-sign Point
- unload one of Palat/Johnson/Gourde
- sign EK65
- once the roster is set for the 2019/20 season, get Vas and Cirelli extended already</div></div>
Wow what an offseason that would be. JBB GM of the year before the season starts ha. I think Point will get resigned. I think 3 mid-cap ppl will leave. My guess: Callahan will be real soon, like in a few days. The last rumor I saw was Cally to Chicago and another roster player is involved but I don't know who and which team. My guess is Paquette. He had his best season yet and I bet we sell high. Who knows if he can duplicate last year. After Cally, I think Palat will go next, the rumor is many teams have asked about him. Last of my 3 is JT Miller. Gourde would be more logical b/c of his NTC that will kick in, however, our front office doesn't want to sign players to NTC then trade them before it kicks in, that looks really bad to the players. So I think it will be Miller cause of his NTC is modified. Signing EK65, I agree if he really wants to be here that bad and will sign for around his previous cap hit (6-6.5M) range than even though some cheaper options are available, I agree you have to sign him at that price. I would prefer trading JT Miller for a RHD like Justin Faulk, Jarod Spurgeon, TJ Brodie, etc. They have one year left which gives Foote one more year at Syracuse to develop. I agree JBB is waiting to extend Cirelli and Vasy once he knows how much he has to work with meaning fills out this year's roster.
BTW Imagine our opening night starting line up:
Stamkos - Point - Kucherov
Hedman & Karlsson
Vasilevskiy
It is an all-star team!
note I moved Stammer to wing to promote Cirelli. 2nd line how about Joseph - Cirelli - Johnson.

However, rumor is Bolts are working on a 3 yr bridge deal for a lot cheaper Cap</div>
I really like that, and it makes a lot of sense. Give him his big payday once both Johnson and Palat contract will be over. And it guves you a better chance to sign EK this offseason + having more cap for the 2020 RFAs
-Subban? A pass for me.
- I'd add Cirelli to the untouchable list
-Kessel and Pavs, ehhh. Kessel will be 32 at the start of the season, pavs 35. I'd pass.</div></div>
Great feedback. I agree on Cirelli being untouchable. The crazy thing is a few years ago, we thought Johnson was untouchable, then Point came along. Now Johnson is tradeable and we want to lock up Point long term. Watch in a year or 2, Cirelli will surpass Point and we will want Tony signed long term. Crazy how the young guys come in and outperform the big money guys. Cirelli was one of the few who actually showed up the playoffs for us this year. That would be a great argument to bridge Point... I say all that BUT I want Point signed to an 8 yr. At least a 5 yr which puts his contract ending when Stamkos's ends. I think Point is the real deal for years to come.
Also, I would love to hear what you think of the superstar swagger idea. Someone to change the psyche of our team. Someone to say, "last yr was last yr, I'm here now and we are gonna dominate and go win us a cup."

Too much or too little? He's gonna be 35 next season. Anyone that comes to Tampa, takes a discount. I literally just heard on Lightning Power Play (Lightning's radio station) talk about Karlsson's deal with us will likely in his old contract pay range, like $6-6.5M. Before Pavelski's $6M deal, he had a $4M deal. I thought $4M was too much but I went high cause he is a UFA. What do you think we could sign him for on a year to year deal?

Tampa in Trouble in 2020 2021
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zwui21</b></div><div>Killorn's NTC after the 2019/20 season will become a M-NTC (16 teams trade list), so he'll be gone freeing up 4.45M. Miller will have a M-NTC, so he can be traded if needed to free up 5.25M.
What concerns me the most is the Gourde contract. 5.16M with full NTC? Bonkers IMO for what we use the guy to do. Really hope he'll be traded prior to this year's July 1, when the NTC hasn't kicked in yet</div></div>
<a href="/users/Zwui21" target="_blank">@Zwui21</a> Nailed it Killorn NTC becomes Modified and he will be moved. Miller's Modified is only 8 teams he won't go to. I bought we move Gourde, its bad to sign a guy, add a full NTC and then trade them before it kicks in. Its shady and player lose trust in management.
<a href="/users/TavaresIsALeaf" target="_blank">@TavaresIsALeaf</a> - Point is too much and too long. We can't afford an 8 yr deal for him. My guess is 5 year around $8ish. Also too much and too long on Vasy. I would never sign a goalie longer than 5 years or for that much. The top goalies in the game don't stay at the top for very long. Anderson is at $5M, Gibson at $6.5 range, I would sign Vasy in that range. Also, love VGK get Fleury at 3 years length. Would like Vasy in that 3-5 yr window too. These are just my opinions of course. Oh and also don't forget the expansion draft so the cap won't be too hard. Unless we do something stupid like sign Karlsson or Panarin haha. They are awesome players, but then we can't hit our cap in 20-21 for sure hahahaha.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>That's all fair, Karlsson is really worrying with his injuries. He probably has 3-4 years out of him before he hits a wall and he'll most likely get a 7 year deal.
As for the trade, I'd pass. We have a million left shot players which was a huge issue scoring for us. If we're moving Spurgeon, I want a young stud right shot C or RW and the only one Tampa has (Point) is worth a lot more than Spurgeon, especially as a rental. Personally, I think moving Spurgeon is smart since I don't see any way we make the playoffs next year and if he's not signed this offseason he will certainly walk in free agency. He has said he wants to win.</div></div>
I completely agree with you on Karlsson. Even though he is still under 30, he has had to carry Sens and has logged a lot of ice time. I think you nailed it with the 3-4 good years left. So ya need right-handed centers huh. Yeah Stammer, Point, and Johnson arent going anywhere. I'm sorry. But hey we have a UFA who centered our top line at the AHL level names Gabriel Dumont. He is a right-handed shot. He might become a free agent. I doubt he wants to resign with Tampa being that he's behind all our Centers. Could probably pick him up cheap too like $800,000 per yr on a short deal. Kind like a prove it to me contract. Yeah would love Spurgeon as a rental. Oof we would be so good. He would be paired with Hedman too. wow wow wow. Someone we might look at as a rental is Justin Faulk too. We well see.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>If I were the Wild GM I'd be extremely interested in Sergachev. Is there any pieces Tampa could want for him that we have? I don't think our GM <em>wants</em> to move Spurgeon, but I could see him being a better fit than EK for Tampa. Say we don't want to move him, I think anything except the obvious (Parise, Suter, Koivu), Kunin, Fiala, Donato, Kaprizov, and our 1st and 2nd would be on the table. Not sure anything else would be of interest, although Greenway for Sergachev could be a starter... We could take on Callahan if necessary, and I really like Tyler Johnson if we could work out a package.</div></div>
If the Bolts brought in EK, we would only be able to take on future value like AHL or draft picks. Our AHL is deep at forwards but we do need defensemen in the AHL. Also rumored our AHL goalie Connor Ingram will be traded even though he was an all-star last year. Rumor is he jokes around way too much and pulls pranks on the players and the players don't like it so ownership might trade him so we could use an AHL level goalie. Taking on Callahan's contract would help a lot on this scenario.
BUT saying all that, I personally don't wanna move Serg (he is so good) and I don't want Karlsson. Yzerman wouldn't move Serg for Karlsson. That's saying something. What would you say to Spergeon for JT Miller and we could through in either Adam Erne or Paquette? I know yall wanna keep him but his 1 yr deal would be perfect for us and would give Foote one more year in the AHL to develop. I bet you Spergeon would come back as a free agent the following year. I know we couldn't afford to resign him. It would be a 1 yr rental.

Evolving-Wild’s contract projections him as worth a 6 year deal at $4,666,158. In my opinion here in Tampa, he is super close to Kuch and Vasy and would likely do exactly like them and take a 3 yr bridge deal to stay here around $4M but that's just my opinion.

He is an offensive weapon on defense. He's a top 4 easy, but could be a top 2. He plays the left side but for us is stuck behind Hedman and McD so we play him on his off side at RHD. He also plays our 2nd power play unit. His rookie yr had better number offensively b/c Coach Cooper sheltered him to help develop him. For example, 85% of his playing time was when we had an offensive faceoff. But last year, (his 2nd yr) he was trusted a lot more and has really grown on his defensive side. At end of season and playoffs, he was paired with Hedman as one of our top pairing. McD and Cernak was the other top pairing. I would say his value is pretty high. And he is on his ELC so is a cheap cap hit this coming year.
