Personally I think Ottawa needs to add a good not great prospect to that deal like Jarventie, JBD, etc. 7th overall is great, but the Wild are taking all the risk in that trade since a prospect is not a guaranteed asset like Fiala.
Value is fine in the Devils trade, probably a bit of an overpayment with Talbot, but I just don't see why the Devils wouldn't take Slafkovsky or Cooley instead.
I think 5th overall for Fiala is good, just don't think the Flyers have the cap to do it. Like the Ottawa deal I still think an OK prospect should be added.

It might not be as drastic as a 5 year 5.5 million deal, but I'm preparing to see him get extended.

Launch him into the sun along with Kulikov. Great guy and can play well when he's healthy but I'm so sick of defending him. Inconsistent, often injured, and when he makes mistakes they often lead to goals. Trade him for whatever futures we can get.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>drmantalban</b></div><div>Yeah I definitely like the flexibility shown here. Feels like there’s at least a little more breathing room to develop players and build for the future, while also not tanking.
There’s a small pessimistic part of me that worries <strong>they’ll move on from Addison, extend Dumba when they’re allowed to,</strong> and show reluctance to trust Rossi in the top 6 over the next 2 years.</div></div>
There's a big pessimistic part of me that worries about that :tearsofjoy

Just be bad during the buyouts
I think that's a smart idea, issue is how will Kap feel about that. If he can accept his team will suck for the next 2 seasons then Wild should do this plan. They'd come out so good.

There hasn’t been any news reporting that Holtz and the 2nd overall pick should be the offer. This is quite literally the 1st time it’s ever been brought up.

It's been pretty much confirmed that the plan is to sign Wallstedt to his ELC and get him over to North America next season. However, they want him to spend at least a year down in the AHL to adjust to North American hockey and its pace. Which is much faster here.
Besides, Guerin and Evason don't rush their prospects. They gotta pay their dues and earn their spots. It's a character challenge thing for them, beyond just making sure a player is ready before giving them NHL icetime.

Id go Savoie then Jiricek, personally. We have a reasonably stocked prospect pool, so may as well shoot for a high upside guy like Savoie.</div></div>
I can’t stand that guy 😂 pretty sure his username is “NhlFan” followed by a bunch of random number and he’s a Devs fan. I think he’s dropped his offer to Zacha and a couple 2nds😂😂

1) Savoie

7) Nemec
RHD is nice and all. But we need to go with a Center/Winger after moving out Fiala. That's priority number one.
Savoie, Lambert, and Nazar are all center prospects with top six potential and are likely wingers at worst. Slafkovsky and Kemell are excellent options too.
As nice as it is thinking about one of Jiricek or Nemec. It would be foolish to go for one of those guys at that spot. I trust Brackett to do his thing and pick us up and build up our RHD depth with later picks.
We're either going to have a low 1st and 2 2nds in this draft on top of that potential top ten pick or the top ten pick and 3 2nds.
Use the later picks on RHD, and keep the top ten pick for a top-tier center/winger.</div></div>
I’d probably go with Savoie if he’s available, I think Wright, Slafkovsky, and Nemec all go in the top 3 though.

Savoie. Right shot center, may have the highest offensive upside in the draft. Hell of a skater, too. He's a bit smaller than you'd like, though, and his size does concern me considering Rossi would be our other top 6 center. That said, the NHL has been trending smaller the past 5-10 years so it may not be a huge issue.
I'd also be happy with Jiricek since I don't think Addison will be the long-term Dumba replacement we thought he'd be. We are super thin at RD in our system and Lambos-Jiricek could be a pretty good top pairing in 5 years.
There's some nice wingers at the top of this class but this franchise is so center-starved and I think Guerin has learned how hard it is to trade for a top line center. You have to draft those guys, and the 5th-6th overall pick in a draft that has a ton of good center prospects would be the perfect opportunity to do just that.

But if this is like ~17th OA, ~36th OA, Mitts and Bryson, it’s probably close to what we can expect. I don’t love it, but that has more to do with my hangups than the value here.
I do hope they keep Middleton though.</div></div>
Solid, I agree. It'll be 15 or 16 overall for the VGK pick. This obviously falls apart if they win the lottery and are picking 5th or 6th and defer the traded one to 2023.

Fiala is a MASSIVE upgrade on Moore. If you've watched Minnesota play this year Fiala is a game changer. He's always had very good advanced stats but it appears to be really coming together this year.
I get not liking the trade or the contract Fiala might get but it's undeniable that he is much much better than Moore. Moore isn't a bad player at all but he's not a 1st liner that can individually change a game.

Fiala is an upgrade of 20 goals and over 40 points. Yes, it would be expensive but Fiala is on another world compared to Moore.
