<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>the fact you are trying to justify the actions of a guy who has a long and troubling history of racism....there is no place in the 2021 NHL for guys like him. He will cry that he is being prosecuted for his beliefs, no its bc hes an awful person and an awful teammate that has finally had too many chances. Should have been told to hit the bricks a long time ago</div></div>

I'm not justifying anything he did or did not do. I don't care if Tony is an awful person or a good person. I'm pointing out that he has rights as labor and outrage culture is designed to strip those rights. It has nothing to do with his beliefs, it has to do with his contract. The Rangers are very tight against the cap with their bonuses. They probably regret giving Tony that contract, primarily for financial reasons. Rest assured, the general process here is NOT actually about Tony DeAngelo on a broader level. He is just an easy target for prolefeed consumers like you. The point is to make the position of labor more precarious and to increase corporate power. The "allegations" that can be used against someone to strip them of their contract (and then access to banking, housing, whatever, which is already a reality for people lower on the pole that corporate power has taken aim at) will get more and more spurious. Less and less evidence will be required to prove it. In a hard cap league like the NHL, you can bet there is incentive for certain players to try to get someone's contract terminated so that an extension might come their way.
