I don't think its nuts at all. Honestly with Laf on the table I'm still not sure Sabres would trade Tage. 38 goals and just starting to come into his own after his first year moving to the Center position. Laf has a ton of potential but is still a winger. C>W. I know you can't remove the fact that he was just 1OA but It just doesn't make sense for the sabres IMO.

lol I mean they need to spend $ and need right shots. Strecher was an after thought for this post. Re-sign Colin Miller I could care less top 4 are Dahlin, Power Samulesson and Joki.
He played well with Power at the worlds; that was about as much thought as I put into him. There is not a lot of people Buffalo could sign as far as right shots go.

It's more about how strong the left side is. The D-pairs are interchangeable. The they need right shots and to spend money. Strecher played well at the worlds with Power when they won gold. Short deal so if he's bad they can look elsewhere to.

Yeah I mean this would be a MASSIVE return for Buffalo and I can see many Flame fans being against this but, if this offer would certainly beat most Vegas offers IMO.

Jack Eichel Trade
Don't see it happening with Krebs. Maybe brisson getting added helps. Vegas doesn't want to move Krebs clearly but there cup window is now so I could see the longer this dragging out actually helping the sabres by the pressure building up on vegas to win now. Adams and ownership are clearly ok with waiting this out.
You would also need to add some light conditions that would move the 2nd to a 1st rounder (ie. 20 games played)

I think this works if the conditions on the picks are lightened. For example 20 games played each year and the picks move to 1sts.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Austons_Math_Youths</b></div><div>I think people aren't taking into account how much Eichel's value has dropped. He can't get surgery until he's traded, so he wont play for at least this season with recovery time even if he gets traded now. That severely drops his value, plus that we don't know how he'll be post surgery. Team's can't afford to take that risk, so Buffalo will have to get much less than initially expected. Friedg made a good point that conditional picks probably need to be involved</div></div>
The 5 teams that are reportedly in on Jack are all ok with him having the disk replacement which carries a recovery time of 6-8 weeks. and there is a 90% chance that in 4 months he is the exact same player.
I think you are overestimating how much his value has dropped. If the Sabres wanted to move him for spare parts the trade would have happened already.
Zary or Coronato would have to be included without a doubt.

oh common you can't be serious! I get you like your players. This is a HARD pass on the sabres side.
Emily Kaplan reported there are currently 5 teams that are ok with Eichel having disk replacement surgery. Not saying Vegas is one of them but its Ludacris to say this is an over pay.

That certainly could be the case. I just don't see Eichel getting moved to VGK without Krebs in the deal. It'll be interesting to see how the next year plays out.

add Krebs +. Being stripped of the captaincy means nothing. Sabres are not moving off there value. Vegas needs a 1C to win a cup. They got exposed in playoffs. Sabres are not getting fleeced for an elite 1C.

Eichel failing his physical has changed this entire situation by exactly 0%. It has literally been known for days if not weeks that he would fail his physical since he is not willing to get the surgery the sabres doctors were recommending to him months ago. Since they can't agree on a path of treatment = failing physical.
This changes nothing as far as cards/ leverage/ etc in the trade market.

Calgary to. Plenty of more options for teams out west then people are willing to admit. With Brisson as his agent this thing will get moving. His health has been overblown. Pegulas are embarrassed of the O'Reilly trade and won't let it happen again. Adams will be patient until his ask is met.

Eichel trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>slapshot30003</b></div><div>While I agree it's not the best. You may need to start preparing for the fact you may not get what you think out of him. If Salary get's retained, it could help, but word is out on this and the other teams have all the leverage. Unfortunately for you fans, the GM is playing the LONG waiting game to trade him. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. In this case, since he doesn't have much leverage in negotiations, he won't be able to get what you think he should. I don't see too many desperate GM's out there willing to make it happen.
Moreover, teams should have their star players back on issues like this. I bet the rest of the league... including OWEN POWER are taking note of this and will be much more reluctant on signing there.
I hate to say it, but Buffalo is still in for some hard times whether you like it or not. The key tell sign for me was the fact Owen Power is going back to school. Thats the sign that he doesn't want to play there. He gave up over $1 million to go back to Michigan.</div></div>
The Sabres literally wanted Power to go back to school. There is no point for him being here next year. They are trying to lose again. It is so short sighted to believe this is a slight against the Sabres. If the Sabres truly wanted him in the lineup next year he would be here.
Power will play the year in Michigan, log big minutes, play in every situation on a stacked team and go to World Juniors. Then after the NCAAs he will sign at the end of the season and get a few games in this year. Barring injury you will see Power in a sabres uni before the end of the year.
I get he's 1st overall and it may not seem normal, but then again what has normal been lately? no fans, covid, shortened season etc. We are not in normal times. Also, see Makar, Hughes, Werenski all as recent examples on D-man who went back to college after being drafted (Makar is somewhat of an outlier because he was drafted out of jrs.)
As far as the trade above goes, you would have to change the 2023 to a 2022 1st and include Svechkov to get the conversation started.

Right, exactly. Eichel puts them over the top, especially with Ekblad back. It's a flip of the coin as is (if everyone is healthy). This deal helps/ makes the Panthers a better team today. Also Eichel is 24 signed for 5 more years giving them a fairly long window.
Point is only getting better and they have the best goalie in the world. Not to mention Kuch is only 28 and Cirelli is a beast to. IMO this trade makes sense but I respect your opinion.

Something Different
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wadejos123</b></div><div>they probably decline. Lundell is one of the best prospects out there. He might be pretty close to Eichel in terms of value in a couple years. Lundell plays a different game, he won't be a 100 point guy, but he has ppg+selke potential. Great two way center, wins faceoffs. Does most things right</div></div>
Very valid points. This trade makes Florida have the ability to compete with Tampa today though, rather then waiting a few years for Lundell to come into his own. After losing 4-2 to Tampa IMO this trade puts them over the top with Barkov and Eichel down the middle. Would be awesome to watch...so much skill there.
