Buffalo Sabres Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>The Blues don't even consider that, sorry. I also have no idea why you'd offer UPL, who they have zero use for.
It's cute how you pretend that has ever happened here. Saying no to an overtly bad offer is not the same thing as asking for the moon. It's common sense.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>asauer1122</b></div><div>This is an over value on Parayko. Sabres wont/shouldnt consider because of that contract. One the worst contracts in the league and near unmovable</div></div>
Contract is unmovable. It's a futile effort to even try. Nobody will be happy with a return and he will sit on STL's roster for the next however many years. Hopefully he can be like skinner has been. Still an anchor contract, but at least it brings some value.

International Rosters - Team Western Canada
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>"Sure, but Toews having a proper two-way game" is not a fair assessment. His version of an offensive game is 'give the puck to Makar or MacKinnon and get out of the way' which is fine but his ability defensively isn't better than Rielly's offensive abilities. As for Morrissey, just like Karlsson, this looks and feels like a one and done season. He has already surpassed his career high in points (37 in 79 last season) and frankly is worse than Rielly defensively (as I have watched in the playoffs or against the Leafs these past few years) and doesn't stick up for his teammates (the game against Toronto where Rielly beat him up for touching Roberston or the Laine bullying scandal).
If you truly believe there is an argument to be made for Rielly, then what are your points and why are mine bad?
Yes, this season Morrissey is having a better season but if this time 4 months ago we had this debate, you would be ridiculed (no offence)</div></div>
you realize how ridiculous some of the stuff you're saying is, right? "if it was 4 months ago" well it isn't. Also, only the Leafs fan bubble think that Morgan Rielly is like, a true #1. "how it feels" is not an actual point. you're allowed to just be wrong dude, don't worry, it's okay

Yes it's time for Chychrun.
That being said, I'd rather keep the 2 and 3, add Olofsson to the Chychrun deal, and call up Kulich.
Also, that 3rd pair better play like 8 mins a night because WOOF.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Why do you guys want Olofsson out of town so badly, seems like half the Buffalo ACGM's are trading him?</div></div>
That's a good question. I'll take a poke. Olofsson is a fantastic shooter, but it's a bit of a numbers game in buffalo right now. Our coach has pretty much settled on his top 6- Thompson with Skinner and tuch, and cozens with Quinn and peterka. Those lines have mostly been producing, although the cozens line has cooled recently. That leaves olofsson playing with mittelstadt and (currently) jost. Mittelstadt is not one of my favorites, doesn't do much of anything well, and is a danger for a minus every time he goes over the boards as a center. Granato seems determined to rehabilitate Mittelstadt, which has been a fruitless endeavor. The line has looked a little better with jost playing the middle, but the results aren't there yet. The Sabres have 4 first round pick forwards coming, and possibly another from this draft, so olofsson (and a few other forwards for that matter) are really gonna have to produce to keep their spot. If you can steal him and put him with a decent two-way center that knows how to pass, you'll be very happy with him.

We need some defenders to break out because Hughes and Werenski won't hold up against those Canadian forward lines. Hopefully Jake Sanderson and Luke Hughes break out.

Can Comrie do it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>*Please note, this isn't meant to dump on the Sabres*
My thoughts-The Sabres should see some solid growth from guys like JPP, Quinn, Cozens, etc., but do we realistically think this is a roster that's even close to the other teams that are going to be fighting for a wildcard spot (ie. Ottawa, Detroit, Boston in the Atlantic, Isles, Columbus, Caps in Metro).
I just don't see it...IMO, adding Comrie (big question mark), Power full time, and Boosh, while praying for positive development, doesn't get them even close to the 25ish point improvement that they'd need over last year to get a spot.
That being said, I think the Sabres will have a solid development year this year, before Pegula potentially opens the wallet next offseason.</div></div>
They aren’t a playoff team yet, but they are building the team the right way. Detroit Ottawa we’re bad teams last season that couldn’t even finish higher than the Sabres last year when they were projected to be the worst team in the League. I think if they can get 80 points and be above 500 along with more player growth will be a win this season.

If team NA was assembled today
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>asauer1122</b></div><div>So opinions are opinions, but your exact quote "This alone shows that not any chart shows that Cozens is allegedly the more complete player" is actually completely wrong and goes to show you dont have a ton of deep hockey knowledge except saying "wow that lacrosse goal was cool guys!!!"</div></div>
Huh? I only replied to your comment that "any" chart shows that Cozens is better which is simply untrue. Also, why put words in my mouth? I literally said that his "fancy moves" aren't the main part of his game and if you think that's how I view things, you're just assuming stupid ****. And why say I don't have a ton of deep hockey knowledge? You just didn't understand my comment. I never said who's actually better, I only said that not every chart proves your point, that's all.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>asauer1122</b></div><div>Zegras is a good player but your statement is totally wrong. They are two totally different players and just so happens Cozens prides himself on being good both ends of the ice which will hurt his offence early in his career while zegras is all about offence but has awful defensive analytics.</div></div>
How can my statement be wrong when I literally just said that not any chart proves your point which I showed through the stats above. Additionally, I said that Zegras isn't just fancy which is a fact and anyone who actually knows Ducks hockey will tell you the same.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>asauer1122</b></div><div>Cozens has a better GAR, xGAR (offense AND defense), better PP offense GAR, Better shorthanded GAR, xGAR, which doesnt say much for this argument of course cause zegras doesnt play 200ft game while cozens is a 200 ft player</div></div>
Zegras' xGAR is literally higher than Cozens'.
Zegras: 4.3
Cozens: 3.7
I'M not saying Zegras is 100% better. I'm just saying that you shouldn't reduce him to his flashiness because that proves you don't know how he plays. I'm also not trying to discredit Cozens here, he's made great improvements this season and I'm truly happy he's playing this well.

But i fully anticipate moves to be made</div></div> <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RoyalBlueSabres</b></div><div>My biggest question for this forward group is what to do with skinner/mitts.
*if there is no trades from now to the start of the season next year* I think there lines are something like
Skinner/mitts cozens tuch
Asplund Tage olofsson
Jj Krebs Quinn
FA/hinostroza girgenson okposo
Those are 3 good lines. But no great line. Do package some young guys to go get someone real good or do you develop and someone is going to get limited playing time?</div></div> <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GenW</b></div><div>I can see them extending Hagg, R2, Bryson, Pysyk, MAYBE one of Miller/Butcher not both, and Olofsson. Dont see us moving olofsson.</div></div> <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sabres923</b></div><div>Hagg has been good, but he’s definitely getting traded at the deadline they have a lot of options at LD. Miller will be traded too.</div></div> <a href="/users/asauer1122" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@asauer1122</a> I think that will be the line up for the last 8 or 9 games.
As to the trades:
Butcher to Pittsburgh, they could use LHD and need help with their PP
Hagg to NYI, they need LHD
Caggiula to WIN, they have the worse PK in the league, Drake is the reason Buffalo has one of the best PK's.
Hinostroza to any team looking for a quality character player who can play hockey.
Anderson any number of teams, the bidding may be high as he is cheap and playing really well.
Miller is having a career year who if he keeps this up, who knows what the return will be, to Colorado they have ONE RHD
I will let every one guess what will be the return.
After all last year we got a second for Hall and third for Montour (7pts in 13 games for FLA, just about what Miller has).
