Can lambert make it
Looked good last pre season. I’d like to think he gets his 9 games if anyone is out of the lineup. I could see him in a temporary top six role.

Barring any trades or significant injuries to the Jets, I doubt Lambert makes the team out of camp.

Depending on how the season goes, he's likely a first call up after any moves (Nino or Scheifele).

Sure you can do it, but you don’t need it

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>That’s fair. That’s the main reason I’m not high on him. If he was 6’1, I’d have him as the centrepiece.</div></div>
Small defensemen are the future, and Seamus Casey is secretly a forward. I unironically think he will make the NHL as a center.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>Thanks! I think daws would be a good fit since he can step into the backup role next year while milic and dom develop. That’s my opinion. As for being on LTIR half the season, ehlers also is but we don’t say that. I’m going for potential here and daws has some I think.
I don’t understand the Casey high (like he’s good but not to the level I’m understanding others think imo). But I can downgrade the prospect as explained above. I’m okay with that.
I’d like to play heinola and Dillon can play a solid leadership role and is a bigger leader than schmidt. I’d move schmidt if I had the chance to play heinola.</div></div>
I think Dillon should replace Schiefele as Assistant Captain next season

Ya I would be still shopping, would be my ready or not, sink or swim and adjust as we go sort of hope, that he runs with it and scheifele beside him if needed. If I’m selling helly, my main target is a buy low bargain young center, and project rhd dman and possibly a tender of some sort depending on offset cap.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Barring injuries (and Bones stupidity) the Jets second PP unit should be much better this season then in recent seasons, an issue that hasn't been discussed much the last few seasons was how useless the 2nd PP has been.
Obviously losing Little really affected PP#2 but Maurice, papa Lowry and Bones player usage hasn't helped it any since either. Hopefully with some health and better options both PP groups will be better and underperformers won't be seeing time on the man advantage.</div></div>
I saw a tweet about Bryan Little a week or so ago. He won his age category in an ironman triathlon. Little finished first by over five minutes, with #2 through 4 finishing within one minute of each other.

Winnipeg Jets signed Gabriel Vilardi (2 Years / $3,437,500 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>thomasjohn</b></div><div>More likely with Ehlers and Perfetti as the second line. Iofallo and either Appleton or Barron will be third line with Lowry.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>McSorley</b></div><div>Likely would have gotten 3.5x2 from a cap strapped LA so good signing.
I hope they put him with Ehlers and Lowry.</div></div>
Jets are fun to project their possible lines with the new additions. The Vilardi deal is a great value whether he is anywhere in the top 6 or even the 3C. He does seem to be destined to play Center in Winnipeg so he'll need a playmaker on one of his wings.

I like it! Great AAV and still under team control. I figure Vilardi went this way so he could cash in after 2 years and WPG gets some piece of mind just in case (god forbid), the injury bug bites again.

Yes great deal imo, WPG gets fair value, and he expires an RFA still.
I think a lot of people were suspecting more which I don't understand because he only broke out this season and seemed like LA was pretty close too giving up on him before the season. This gives Vilardi a chance to truly prove he is the player he was last season. And WPG doesn't risk giving a hefty contract to a guy who could be a '1 year wonder'. Not saying he is that, but too me it's a valid concern to have.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>I would do that schmidt trade. However, doubt Anaheim does with the current cap situation league wide. It looks more like chevy will run with what we have and then wait until the right injury/trade for ville to come in. Ville will be even more disgruntled to start the season, but I doubt he’s going back down once he comes up.</div></div>
I don't think there are anytakers for Schmidts contract unfortunatley. I like the guy but not worth the price.

Is This A Playoff Team
De-accessioning (the NY Metropolitan Museum of Arts' term for selling off unwanted masterpieces) malcontent Pierre-Luc DuBois was the definition of addition by subtraction and certainly a step in the right direction. This team should be a playoff team as long as Scheifele and Hellebuyck play as if their hearts are in it and guys with injury history like Ehlers and Perfetti avoid the LTIR list. (The Jets might not even need that if Iafallo and Vilardi contribute significantly.)

My ask revised
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wqrrior</b></div><div>As a neutral fan in this argument, I have seen Devils fans offering literal garbage, so I know why Jets fans would be irritated, but I still see no realistic world where Holtz and a First are both included in the same deal for a goalie. It's either Holtz with a 2nd or a 1st with a prospect down a tier like Stillman. A negotiation requires both sides to budge, and if the Jets won't budge i don't think the market to sell him will be there. Not enough teams are forming a big line to get a goalie.</div></div>

We can trade it, it just has to be conditional
