Maybe we ride with this team into the playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Benzino204</b></div><div>With Scheif, Helle, and Nino extending, there may have been talks about how to approach the contending window which likely includes taking the swings many contenders do, by sacrificing futures to add depth for a deep playoff run. The team is full of guys who like to play for each other, and are friends off the ice, but this is the time to act, and there is a hole at the 2C.
The addition can't just be anyone. They'd have yo fit into the culture the team has created, but they can't just sit back, especially if contending teams in the WC like Dallas, Vancouver, Vegas, and Colorado add to their lineups for their own playoff pushes</div></div>
If Chevy can find another Paul Stastny type of player, then sure but who?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Benzino204</b></div><div>This team is one of the best teams in the league. They have not lost a step with key injuries, and the call ups have been great, but they have to go all in, and sacrifice the 1st and a prospect to get a 2C.
In the short term, maybe see if a team will take Kupari and Stanley for draft picks, so some guys who deserve to be up stay, but you'd have to expect one of AJF, Gustafsson Toninato will be lost on waivers. It sucks, but those are the roster limits they face.</div></div>
It will suck losing players to waivers but I think players understand this. What will suck more is who will be sent to the 4th line when Connor returns and a 2C get inserted on the 2nd line. Names will be one but who is the other? Iafallo? I don't know what it will do to the chemistry they have right now? I agree with you if the team starts sliding but if they stay healthy, I wouldn't rock the boat.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cory</b></div><div>They sure are rolling. Glad Dubois is gone, don't feel the same way about Wheeler. Know him personally from attending social events together and he is one hell of a good person. Personally, I think he was very mistreated in Winnipeg at the end and was used as a scapegoat.</div></div>
No doubt that Wheeler and his wife were great for the city but I think age and injuries were Wheeler's downfall which lead to his buyout. Unfortunately this sport has turned into a business.

Seems like the Jets chemistry is working this year. Wheeler and Dubois are gone and Scheifele is playing a 200 ft game.

Big NO on Hertl but I would jump at that Calgary trade, Getting rid of Schmidt contract for a cheaper and shorter term dman for the 3rd pairing is a yes for me.

It was because who he was hanging out with. The guy he was with went on the roof and starting pissing on people below. A little too crazy even for the 80's.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Canoehead</b></div><div>Pulock has trade protection and may not waive it despite being a Manitoba guy. It was known that if the Jets acquired Mark Stone at that TDL a while back he was going to be a pure rental and the Jets had no chance of signing him despite being a Winnipeg guy. The last guy from Dauphin the Jets tried to bring on board rejected them and went to Nashville.
Edit: I think he'd be great on the Jets, but I am not overly optimistic the Jets would meet the Isles ask and Pulock would waive.</div></div>
Yeah the stars would have to align for the Jets to get Pulock but want to see Chevy improve the 1RHD.
Saw Trotz at a party back in the 80's and I was surprised he turned into the guy he is today.

Maybe a Ekholm for Barrie + is a type of trade that Chevy has to do. Would the Islanders go for a Pulock for Demelo + trade especially if Demelo comes with an extension? Ekholm got Nashville Barrie, Schaffer, a 1st, and a 4th so for Pulock, Islanders could get Demelo(extended), McGroarty, and a first. This is if Islanders are out at TDL and the stars align.
And Schmidt and his contract has to be gone.

Yeah in all honesty it will cost the Jets more than what I offered. A year ago I would of jumped at a trade involving Perfetti but now it would be harder to do although we have better prospects to fill Perfetti's position than the #1rhd.

The team of Trouba and Morrissey was great. Pionk and Morrissey when paired up just doesn't work. Trouba adds a physicality that Pionk doesn't have among other things.

DeMelo as a 1RHD means the jets are going nowhere in the playoffs if they make the playoffs.

One position to fill 1RHD
Any trade would have to have Schmidt's approval. Most trades on this site would have to have the player's approval.
This post increases WPG cap by only $50000.00. I still believe this post improves the defense as Dumba is better than DeMelo IMO.
At this point I do not know where WPG can get a 1RHD without weakening another part of the team or the future.

Dumba at 1RHD and DeMelo at 3RHD is an upgrade from what they are now.

If WPG could trade Dillon then sign Dumba then the D would look better. DeMelo just isn't top 4 as it showed when Morrissey went down in the playoffs. I would like the D to look like this-
Morrissey/Dumba
Samberg/Pionk
Heinola/Demelo

I don't see anything under 8.5. Whoever signs Hellebuyck to a long term deal is taking a risk. Hellebuyck will have to go shorter term or less $ per year.
