The reason for moving a goalie out is to make room for top prospect Dustin Wolf.

Despite the down year, someone will pay more for Gustavsson than that. CGY accepts easy

Rossi Jiricek
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ryminister_92</b></div><div>It’s not media or fans making a big deal outta him being yo-yo’d up and down - Jiricek himself made a big deal outta it. He believes he should be getting more ice time in the NHL, specifically on the PP where he’s not getting any ice time.
Sure the odds are in favour of him likely being on the team next year, but a deal wouldn’t be as surprising as some people think either</div></div>
If he wants to play in the NHL maybe he should play well enough to earn it. He has been AWFUL this season when with the main squad. His skating is atrocious. If he wants even a chance of making the opening day roster next year he has to work extremely hard this summer. As it stands now I think he will start the season up in Cleveland once again.

Next year with Fleury
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wildwinswhen</b></div><div>It's possible. But I really hope it doesn't happen. Rossi is a C2 and so he's right where he should be. You'd only trade him this year if you think Khus can be a C2 next year, but I didn't see that.
Gus we'd trade if we're going to have Wally be G1. But I really don't see him being ready for that either.</div></div>
Yeah I agree with you, I just think Guerin is gonna try and make a splash and seeing how he handcuffed himself, there isn't much else he can do.
We'll see - could be wrong. Just a hunch based on rumors and knowing Guerin's impulsivity.

Nice job with the team makeup considering the Wild are still hamstrung by the Suter / Parise buyouts.
25/26 Guerin will have lots of cap $ to spend , less a chunk for re-upping Faber and Rossi

Losing the dead weight
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CoolHandL</b></div><div>Agreed, just send them through waivers. Or Mojo could be traded fairly easily, I'd think.
And I don't think Flower would need to be paid 3.5 again. 2M or so, is my thinking. Otherwise this looks alright. I really do wonder whether Heidt makes a push for the team, especially if Mojo/Freddy are jettisoned.</div></div>
Yeah the issue with Mojo is that they won't actually waive him. I think if he was given the ultimatum of "AHL or trade", he would waive the NTC, but Guerin isn't gonna do that. Even if it works on paper and in theory.
Heidt probably won't be ready IMHO, but it will be fun to see if he can get his 9 games and what he does with them.
Tbh, one thought I had with Heidt (if he does impress but maybe not quite full-time) is if they'd ever consider something like what Anaheim is doing with Carlsson - a deliberately reduced schedule. You obviously want him playing, but I do wonder if 40-45 NHL games is better than 68 WHL games for a guy like him.

Off season plan
Why are you short-changing the cap situation next season?
It's already been confirmed that the cap is going up $4M this off-season to $87.5M, so that's literally $3M in cap space you just left unusable and off the table.
Our current open cap space this off-season totals $9.5M, without any additional signings or trades/moves. We would still have $3.3M in open cap space after all this happened.

Watching this exact same roster again next year would be torturous. Bring in some kids or sign someone. Seasonal Affective Disorder is already real enough for some people, no need to compound it by a full season of Johansson/Zuccarello in the top six and that fourth line.

Should we keep Dumba
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>C21</b></div><div>Keeping Dumba would be cool and all but not if it means we just give away Addison. I don’t care if Deano doesn’t like him, it’ll be harder to get someone with his PP1 QB potential and ability than it will be to shelter and develop his two-way game.
I think Addison should at least be given a year and then moved if it doesn’t seem to be working out. And at the same time, it’s very possible Dumba signs a 1 year deal like a lot of the UFA pool has, and you bring him back to Minnesota a year from now</div></div>
Orrrr…they trade Foligno, resign Dumba to a 1 year contract and give Addison another year to develop in Iowa…bringing him up when/if needed.

The Mild will have to wait until 25-26 to be serious contenders and hopefully get some real centermen by then.
Brock Faber looked amazing in the DAL playoff series. Should seamlessly step into Dumba's shoes. Hopefully Rossi can blossom in the top 6 with those solid wingers

Idk man, I'm actually excited to see what the Wild can do. Faber is such a stud, cannot wait to see a full season of him. Boldy is one of my favourite players , he's going to have a great year. Kaprizov is Kapeizov. I really want to see Rossi comfortable in the show. Maroon is a fun addition.
I'm not expecting big things, but I think this team will make some noise. And if not, Michael Misa isn't a bad consolation prize

Might as well draft and develop over returning to form, dumba was a warrior and played a tough style for his size, so a decent amount of wear and tear and miles on him. Probably better to develop younger and hopefully peaking when the handcuffs come off from those buyouts.

Addison for Yager
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>He's fine. Especially considering he missed a whole year of crucial development due to Myocarditis.
He's doing great in the AHL right now. There's nothing wrong with letting him overbake down there where he's getting top ice time and being *the guy*.
But there's a small contingent of Wild fans who are irrationally ready to give up on him just because he's not already playing for the Wild in a top six role or hate the fact he's under 6'0" tall.</div></div>
They're doing this the right way.
Nothing drove me crazy more than when so many wild fans said last year that Rossi would be the immediate solution to the top 6 center gap. While I agree he is for the long term, people wanted too much, too soon, and some still do.
Still think y'all need a stopgap top 6 C tho for another year.
