1-Trouba was very good for us defensively this year... his offense obviously dropped tho... he's worth 7mil, not massively overpaid
2-just keep Danault, he's a very good 2 way guy

PLEASE don't hate me for saying this. I am not advocating for it either way, but it looks like a switch. The Habs need scoring, and they get it with Nylander. The Leafs need a right shot, minute munching defenseman, and they get that in Shea Weber. He's not going to win the Norris, but he'll probably be in the top 8-10 in voting. Right off the bat both teams are instantly improved. Weber might even push the Leafs over the edge. Caufield is a super young sniper that has <em>huge</em> upside, and Sandin is a super young left-handed defenseman with <em>huge</em> upside. Mete is a very young but already experienced bottom 4 left shot dman and Kerfoot is a solid 3rd liner. I do not have a horse in the race, but I actually don't think it's that bad.

Now, I am not sure the Canadiens (or anyone) gets Georgiev, as it at least appears the Rangers will keep him. But what do I know?! :)

My guess is that they wanted someone who's more experienced.

Also they probably got a bargain deal for Gardiner as he took an alleged discount...it was expected back in summer that he'll go for +$5M deal, but it didn't happen.

CAR isn't my single favorite team, but they're 2nd or 3rd. He's darn good. He's not what they need right now though. He's offensive playmaking Dman. He has a really good pedigree...two WJC on his resume. If CAR is going for a Dman...it should be for someone more physical. That's not Bean's game. That's my opinion why he wasn't brought up. He does have really good value though and he'll only get bigger/stronger as he gets older. Solid pick up for a team retooling.

He's young still and valued as one of our top 2 prospects. Just no fit for him yet with our young core of Slavin, Pesce, and Dougie.
The other 3 slots are interchangeable so we could use a Petry upgrade. Bean will turn out to be a good player with Montreal. First also helps with them hosting the draft.
