<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheJoeMan</b></div><div>I think Steel is best utilized at center though I get the impulse to give him a better opportunity being on the top line. I think Shore has no place on this team. Not talented enough to be a top-6 guy and not fast and gritty enough to be a bottom-6 guy. Comtois brings the most effort and generates the most chances of our young guys so I wouldn't take him out of the lineup. He can swap with Jones though. I'm starting to worry that kid just doesn't have the hands for the bigs.</div></div>

I am with you %100. I just saw what an impact that line had against Chicago on Sunday night and I would love to see if for a full game and go from there. I'm indifferent with Shore. I thought he played well in the first 2 games but after that its been kind of shakey. Fair enough, I love Comtois but didn't think he would be utilized great on the 4th line. I would love to see this team to start burying some of their chances though.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>I don’t mind moving Steel to the wing for a couple games. Bring up Lundestrom to for the all Swede line. And Comtois over Terry. Terry needs to sit. He won’t shoot the puck. Need to find a way to get thru to him. Sit him a game and see if he figure sit out. Had the puck in the slot twice last night and didn’t shoot either time.</div></div>

You make a good point on bringing Lundestrom up. Terry reminds me of Getzlaf and not wanting to shoot. I still don't think I would sit Terry though. Maybe sit Jones instead of Terry and bring Comtois back in the lineup.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheJoeMan</b></div><div>Does he though? I really feel like what we've seen from Ritchie is what we're going to get. He can't skate, he's never going to be able to skate but he does has good hands. He just seems incapable of not taking bad penalties but all-in-all he's a 30ish point player making absolute peanuts for the next two years. Honestly, I think if we hadn't drafted him 10th overall I don't think so many of us would be so down on him. But I'm absolutely done thinking he's ever going to be more than the player he is right now. I wouldn't give him away just for the sake of giving him away but if another team really covets him I wouldn't hesitate if they're offering a decent return.</div></div>

I definitely agree with this take. I think as much as we wish we got a better player at 10, especially considering 2014 ended up yielding a lot of good players after 10 (Vrana, Larkin [oof], Sanheim, Deangelo, Kapanen, and of course Pastranak), we didn't. And that happens. From a draft perspective, Ritchie is one of the biggest busts of the first round. But if you look at contract to contribution, he's a steal. When Ritchie plays well he can generate good offense, is a solid front net presence, and a physical force. That being said, I don't think he fits the future of the Ducks. We saw in buffalo that our team plays best quick, scrappy, and creatively. Ritchie is not that. I think there is a better fit on another team, but I would be surprised if a team pursuing him offers more than a late pick.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AFOX10900</b></div><div>A. Sprong isnt a 4th liner, he will never be, plus FHCGMBM doesnt want him there, why he got waived, and I believe that Steel is also waiver exempt, and Lundestrom has looked fantastic on the Swede line, and i would put Kase with Getz, Getz's line hasn't looked fantastic (I haven't watched much though... East coast sucks sometimes) with a guy like Sam Carrick on his wing with Comtois</div></div>

None of this was based on actuality. This is just what I would do. But I guess I might as well justify my opinions:

A lot of the lineup focuses on protecting players from the expansion draft. Right now, this is how I see protections going:
(7/3/1) &gt; Henrique, Kase, Silfverberg, Rakell, Steel, Comtois, Terry / Lindholm, Fowler, Manson / Gibson
(8/1) &gt; Henrique, Kase, Silfverberg, Rakell, Lindholm, Folwer, Manson, Guhle / Gibson
As it is, we are exposing a LOT of good young players. Larsson, Mahura, Jones, etc.

I put Sprong on the 4th line because I want him to have a chance to outplay Kase and Terry. If he doesnt, I think we give up on the Sprong experiment like Pitt did. AHL won't help him as he will probably produce fine down there. He needs to find consistency.

I REALLY like the Swede line. That being said, because I like Lundestrom so much, I rather him not have 2019-20 count against him or his contract. Ducks are a bubble team, not likely a Stanley Cup team. Rakell and Silf will be here next year. I rather play Steel now than Lundestrom as Steel will be 1 of top 6 Centers until Zegras is ready. The future of Zegras being 1C and Lundestrom or Steel being 2C is only a few years away.

I like Getz with Kase, but I also like him with Terry. I think Henrique and Kase have good chemistry and Henrique puts him in less dangerous situations. Getz is use to playing with power forwards and stronger guys, and Kase is just too injury prone to be that guy, Carrick is fun to watch and a great call up option. But much lower on the depth chart for me.
