I think thats a pretty solid offer for Ekholm, I just wouldn't be surprised if Nashville says no

Most likely the case
While it's unlikely, the Hawks could give Strome a qualifying offer for around $1m. Either he signs the QO, an offer sheet from another team, or he sits the season out until the final signing deadline a la Nylander.

Big Minnesota Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>Maybe. I added the Leafs 2020 2nd in last second. Maybe no Second round pick.
I know Min is super high on Joel Ek. But statistically he isn't anything special. Basically 2x young 3rd liners and 9th overall. So take out 2nd?
Remember a big part of the value is in straight up cap space. Min is eating all kinds of cap space for the Leafs.</div></div>
Fair point. If you add Dubnyk, then you can probably change the 2nd to a 4th. Minny would be getting their starter and a guy who could possibly be their 1C if they think Nylander can move back to the middle. I personally dont see Joel Ek being anything more than a middle-6 player but Minny has weird talent "evaluation," if you can call it that.

The Leafs should be able to get more from Minny than just that return, especially with Anderson getting an extension

Raymond falling that far would be crazy and be an absolute steal for Carolina. Bourque probably gets picked earlier, but Vegas would make out like bandits if he drops that far

Busy Making This Mock Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Hawks pick Holloway, Mercer or Zary. They have a logjam of young defenders and the only one they would consider is Sanderson but he won't fall that far. Hawks prospects left side: Vlasic, Beaudin, Carlsson, Kalynuk; Right side: Boqvist, Mitchell, Regula.</div></div>
I don't see any of the LHD prospects having top pair potential, so I wouldn't hate the Guhle pick. I would still go with the fwds you listed. Holloway seems like the most likely choice with the Granato connection at Wisconsin

Sens focus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Great pick for the Hawks in the 1st round. 2nd round, if available, without question they go Sam Colangelo who they've had their eyes on. Could end up trading up with one of their 3rd round picks to grab him. He's a sleeper, very solid player.</div></div>
Something about drafting an undersized C in the 2nd round doesn't seem like something Bowman would do, especially after last years draft where they picked up larger guys like Dach, Vlasic, and Teply. With Colangelo being 6'2 and having the Chicago connection, it's a no brainer for them to pick him.

LW upgrade Longer term Goali
Hawks pass. I think this is a close trade, but Debrusk and Rask aren't making the Hawks a playoff team (not that it's their fault). They couldn't even make the playoffs with Lehner and Crawford playing well, so adding Rask probably isn't the answer. This feels like a lateral move for both teams as Debrincat>Debrusk and Rask>Markstrom. Chicago gets a better starter but their main issue is still team defense. Boston adds more goals but also lets in a few more.

Buds 2021
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DarthKane</b></div><div>The Chicago trade is decent, but I don’t think the Hawks trade Murphy unless the return is overwhelming given their circumstances. Johnson would be enough for de Haan but not Murphy.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DarthKane</b></div><div>The value is trades is always about perspective. Murphy has been a rock for Chicago and he’s the type of d-man that other fan bases undervalue because he doesn’t put up points (much like the guy he was traded for).</div></div>
This value of this trade is terrible from a Hawks perspective. Leafs basically get their 1st pair RHD (if Muzzin is kept on the left side) and the Hawks get a fringe middle-6 winger (Johnsson was only adequate alongside Matthews and Tavares and pure ass next to everyone else) who is overpaid for what he produces on both the score sheet and on most advanced metrics. The perspective of this is that it's a terrible trade, and even pretending it's close or decent is downright laughable.

Just the optics alone from trading for the guy who not only broke your best players collarbone as a rookie, but who also later said he did it on purpose should have gotten Chiarelli kicked out of Edmonton after being tarred and feathered.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Disagree. We will buyout Smith. Giving up the #80 pick OA to save $1M in cap just doesn't make sense when you start thinking about that 3rd round pick being a very good goalie prospect. For a 4th, okay, but not a 3rd.</div></div>
Every $ counts in a flat cap world. This trade makes a lot more sense than buying out Smith to save $2m this year and adding on $1m next year.

Domi out and other stuff
That Hawks trade is laughable. Saad wouldn't be traded as a cap dump.
Hurricanes say no, Fluery has way more upside and value than a 3rd and depth fwd.
Isles might say yes as they need the cap space to sign Barzal and Pulock.
Jets are going to want different, better pieces. Domi is fine, switch Norlinder with Romanov, Leddy is "okay," throw in Poehling alongside this years 1st and the Jets might consider trading Laine.
