I have perhaps an odd suggestion: when you want dessert, go get the Sizzling Apple Pie at Craftsman Pizza. Don't get me wrong, all their food is good, but that dessert is one to remember.

MN chases playoff spot
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Ya not interested in moving Mittelstadt but let's just say his value to make it worth moving him would have to be for a top 4 RHD in the 22-30 age range with term. Otherwise it doesn't make sense</div></div>
That would be Brock Faber. Minnesota fans don’t seem to like this idea. They would rather try to pawn two pending UFAs, a second round pick, and another prospect the Sabres don’t really need in return for a young productive center with team control. Yeah, I’d like it if my team could make a trade like that too.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Agreed the top 9 is beastly and Quinn is posed for a big season. I think he puts up 20-25 goals despite missing the first 32 games.</div></div>
That might be pushing it
But this team is gonna be real scary up front with all the talent we have- AND all the talent we still have coming
Team needs going forward imo:
1- figure out long term solution in goal
2- top4 RD…. Joki? Clifton?
3- defensive 4C that wins faceoffs
We get that done & just let the young talent we have continue to develop & i think we’ll be in good shape for quite a while

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Hopefully all of the goals we allow against and our atrocious faceoff numbers make Adams aware (if he isn't already) that we are in desperate need of someone like a Kampf or Sturm to help us in that department. Hopefully he also realizes that we don't need to keep all of our later round picks in every draft and that moving one or two of them for a player like that would be wise... Time will tell I suppose</div></div>
Yeah, a smart tweak or 2 could certainly help
Love how our top9 looks right now if we can stay healthy
Should start seeing a bunch more scoring
Quinn looking good already

Adams gets one last shot
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Those are 3 trades the Sabres would not and should not make. 1 year of Saros does not cost a A+ prospect, unprotected 1st, a B prospect, and UPL (who would be a good goalie with any other D core in front of him). Murphy is an alright defenseman but wouldn't cost a A prospect, B prospect, solid 2-way forward and a pick. I'd peg his value at a B prospect and a 2nd personally. If we were to move on from Jokiharju (which I'm good with) we should be looking to acquire a solid bottom 6 forward or a D prospect</div></div>
Couldn’t agree more!
<a href="/users/SadSabres90" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@SadSabres90</a> with some pretty massive overpays here

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Really no point in stating the obvious, of course I'm not KA but just sharing my opinion. Why "might" that price be "more than we are willing to pay" as you put it? You haven't shared why you think that. We traded a 2nd and 5th for a forward with a career high of 12 goals and 32 points...</div></div>
Just bc we overpaid for Greenway, that doesn’t mean his trade value will correlate to every other player we might trade for
Sabres *might* not wanna pay that price for Kampf, Simple bc we are happy continuing to develop Krebs in our “defensive center” role, they’d making acquiring Kampf unnecessary
And i felt the need to “state the obvious” bc it seems like we are talking about 2 different things
1- what YOU would do
VS
2- what Adams will do
I’m interested in what’s gonna happen in reality
I personally think bringing in a good defensive center makes sense (i think we agree there)- i just don’t know that Adams feels the same way

Geekie would still be scratched in Philadelphia. Doesn't make sense to trade Frost for another forward unless it is a clear upgrade.

I don't think points are the defining factor there, but Joshua Roy leads the AHL in points. I think you'd have a pretty hard time arguing Ostlund is a better prospect, let alone clearly.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Ya its not like he acquired Tuch, Krebs, and Levi via trade or anything. Not like he fleeced Philly in the Risto trade and got very good value in the Eichel debacle. He totally wasn't at all responsible for signing Sammy, TT, and Coz to very good long term deals, securing a long window of contention.
Extremely unimpressive that's for sure.</div></div>
It's actually crazy just HOW much better our prospect pool and NHL roster is compared to when KA took over. I remember looking at what we had outside of Eichel and Reino and being incredibly concerned it'd take another 10 years to get the amount of talent needed to be competitive

Looking at them
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Yes I think Kozak could develop into a perfect 4C, hopefully he's good in the dot. Nadeau I could see as a bottom 6 guy who gets some gritty goals by being net-front. He will need to improve his skating and speed if he wants to make it. Rousek could be a middle 6 guy, he's just so smart and skilled. He needs to add weight and tenacity on the puck imo though</div></div>
Looking forward to seeing Nadeau in Rochester. Works the boards well and has sneaky hands around the Net. Right about the skating, but like Samuelsson did, he has been working with a Skating Coach the last 2 off-seasons. Remember watching him the game he came back from his Shoulder Injury. Scored 4 goals had like 8 hits. Kid looks out for his Teammates to.

TRADING FOR DC
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joblow</b></div><div>Not taking into account that Dach winger where mostly 3rd liner or Mike Hoffman. That is a non sense. You compare players base on points this is new on here . Skillset, attribute all favor Dach. As he reach is full potential not yet but he will be better then Cozen when there career done. Dach won’t always have Armia and Hoffman as winger. Would very like to see Cozens with those 2 maybe that would make something to think about. And by the way you can have the opinion you want that doesn’t mean that other people opinion are trash. This is call open minded, you should try. Having hockey discussion, talking about other thing then just goal and assists without context.</div></div>
First,
it’s CozenS- with an “s” at the end of his name
Wow
Second,
idk who u think Cozens linemates were, but he wasn’t on our top line- he CARRIED our 2nd line, especially in the 2nd half of last season. He mostly played with 2 rookies
Third,
Dach doesn’t suck. But when u COMPARE a guy who you’re
PROJECTING to be really good
VS
a guy who is ALREADY PROVEN to be really good….
Well then, u just sound foolish
And these are they types of responses u should expect to get

Natural rebuild part 3
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Bringing in a true top 4 RHD will be key. Having a goalie to help ease the burden on Levi will also be key. Other than that its simply developing our players. We have a crazy amount of forward prospects so absolutely 0 need to acquire anything up front. By 2025-2026 Zach Benson will be on the team 0 doubt. Ostlund would be close to NHL ready. Wahlberg as well probably. I think Novikov is a dark horse for being a real good option for a shutdown physical guy on the 3rd pairing. I think Johnson can play right-side in the future since he's an elite skater.</div></div>
100% agree with this, anything you do bring in up front earlier on would be on 1-2 year deals that you don’t have to give up assets for, for example a joe pavelski type. Although that may block a guy like savoie or kulich. By 25-26 ostlund, wahlberg and benson will 100% be ready for the show but where do you put them? Obviously zetterlunds spot is one but how about the other 2, and those guys all should be on the power play as well but I just don’t see who you’d move out. Gonna be a huge logjam in a year or two even though there already is. Could definitely bolster the defence.
