Probably. But I like what Bjugstad brings to the table, and think it rounds out our bottom 6 perfectly.

While I think the Rangers paid less for Tarasenko...due to both his NTC and his high Cap hit, that some teams couldn't handle...I think guys like Bjugstad and Luke Schenn will actually be more expensive. With no NTC'S to limit suitors...and a low AAV to help contenders with little Cap space...teams will actually have to overpay a bit for these players.

Considering how well the Rangers have played of late, and how perfectly they would be built from top to bottom in the Playoffs, I'm OK with paying a little extra.

The Rangers accept that trade, but I'm not sure the Canes do.

Drury is the most valuable piece of the 4. While I like Edstrom over Bokk, I don't know if he's good enough to make up the difference of Drury over Kravtsov.

You're giving up about 3x as much to acquire an injured Kane (who reportedly will only accept a trade to Toronto or the Rangers) as you did for Tarasenko and Mikkola.

That's a lot to give up for a guy that only one other team in the league can actually acquire him.

No point in the Rangers bidding against themselves, especially after already making their big splash.

Stick to more realistic moves to bolster the bottom 6. Kane isn't necessary.

I wouldn't "love it", but his perceived current value is roughly the same as Bjugstad.

Giving away a former Top 10 pick for a lesser value is never ideal. But to round out this year's Roster, I could deal with something like that.

Definitely not preferable to lock these young guys up with shorter deals. Unfortunately, it feels like a necessary evil.

Lindgren and Goodrow still have value, at the moment. Would prefer not to move them now.

When 23-24 ends...at a time when Kakko and Schneider are next up for new deals...while Kreider and Trouba are both able to then be moved...then Drury can start selling pieces off.

Too many of our big Contracts are immovable. Can't do much with them there. Just try and squeeze in what you can at this moment, and wait patiently for the Cap jump.

Having both he and Goodrow in the bottom 6, with the versatility to both move from Center to Wing when needed, would be exceptional.

Trade values can definitely get overinflated. No question.

But they gave up the lesser 1st instead of the better one.

Gave up their 3rd or 4th best Defensive Prospect, while keeping all their Top Prospect pieces.

Got half retention. Along with Mikkola. And dumped Blais.

Even my more realistic expectations were surpassed.
