If only Carolina had overtaken the Rangers or Washington had overtaken the Islanders, we would have had
Canes vs Caps
Rangers vs Islanders
and the whole Eastern Conference first round would have been major rivalry series. I guess Rangers-Caps was a thing in the mid 2010s and Canes-Isles played a heated series last year but it's not the same.

Am I crazy for being excited for it? We haven’t played Boston in 5 years and I kind of want to see if we can finally slay the dragon in a rematch. Obviously it won’t be easy but I think it’s doable. GLG!!!</div></div>
I got Bruins in 7 games again for that one.

Might sound ridiculous (and it probably is), but I kind of what to face Boston in the playoffs. Destroy the narrative and finally defeat our biggest adversaries. I dont like our odds based on the goaltending / defense matchups, but how sweet would it be to FINALLY surge past Boston

Caps are 27th in league in goal differential (29th at even strength). And going to the playoffs.

Now that all the playoff spots have been clinched, I think it's safe to call this regular season the best in a long time. So many drama all the way to the end. The current way of doing things rarely creates entertaining hockey down the stretch, but man it was entertaining the whole way through this year

Its funny how in the Metro 2 teams with a negative differential could make the playoffs (NYI already has) while one in the positives could miss

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>You can though... Bert and Domi shouldn't cost more than they do now... Toronto has a ton of young guys who want an opportunity... Guys like Robertson, Steeves, Hirvonen, Tverberg, Minten, Quillan, Niemela, Kokkonen, Riafali, etc.
Lilly should only get 2.5-3.25 on a longer term deal...</div></div>
You really cant
In order to significantly improve the Dcore have to move on from one or both of them
Even if you use a bunch of ELC's you dont have enough
Leafs have 19m
They need to extend Robertson + Dewar + Liligren then bring in a 1B goalie, 2 top 4 RD, and sign a wing
2 good top RD will eat up the majority of that cap space along with Liligren extension and the new tandem guy

Well, Washington-Philly will decide a lot, Washington is win and in, Philly I believe would pass Washington off of 4th tiebreaker with a regulation win leaving the door open for Detroit, Pittsburgh and maybe Philly to get the spot

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Saskleaf</b></div><div>Dude just stop you’re embarrassing yourself, you aren’t necessarily wrong but like why is that relevant? The habs made the right move not to pursue PLD and it’s fine for habs fans to say that. It really doesn’t matter that he’s be their 5th best player, in fact it further adds to their argument that they shouldn’t have gotten him (that he’s only the 5th best on a crap team)</div></div>
It's a fair assessment... You don't see me going into Erik Karlson threads talking about how the Leafs are great and he's the most overrated player in the league, just like player that I didn't like last year, etc.
Because Karlson would be a top 6 player in Toronto... And he would still be a good upgrade to them
It pisses me off seeing this same thing but with another fanbase and different player who usually doesn't struggle this much

Yeah i spent the last 2 years humiliating my league so they all wanted me dead. They nearly got it too. I barely snuck in as the 4 seed, needing to win 2 tie breakers just to get that.
6th place got 13 wins, 1st got 15. Just stupid close.
All that just to destroy the 1 seed and now the 3 seed in the finals lmao

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jr400</b></div><div>You’re asking the wrong question. The question should be: Would Dubois be worth $8.5M to Montreal, where presumably he would be playing higher in the lineup? You could argue that he would help them now, and they could fit him under the cap by using more LTIR allowance, but this is an 8-year contract. If the team continues to improve and their young players develop the way they hope, it won’t be long before they’ll have better ways to spend that money. I’m sure there’s a bit of sour grapes in some of the comments we’re seeing from Habs fans, but I agree with them. They’re probably better off without him and his 8x$8.5M contract.</div></div>
It's not even just the contract, not only is he overpaid and signed long term, but the Kings also had to give up a kings ransom for him. You're talking like Monahan + Josh Roy/Mesar + Ylonen + 2nd. No thank you.

Dubois would still be 5th in scoring if he played on the Habs...
No Habs fan has the right to clown on this trade, Jets fans however...</div></div>
For a guy that's making 8.5 Million, more than any active player on our roster, we absolutely can clown on them.
