They were both made on crack. My bad that **** hits hard.
But no in all honesty I’m not very high on yamomoto and originally just had a 4th round pick in there instead of him. And like the guy above said, gotta overpay to move up in the draft. Yamomoto definitely has value but I don’t see him panning our in the NHL. Would be more than happy to eat my words on that though.
I think the Washington trade is pretty fair value. Young tough middle pairing right hand D for a good young top 6 forward. Though I don’t think Washington would have interest in moving Vrana whether it was fair value or not.

Laine Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurgerBoss</b></div><div>I don't think Laine's gonna take that deal. He'd most likely like to continue in WPG, which is a true contender.
Besides since CAR is a small team, they can never be so close to the cap limit. They simply have no money to do it. This is why they're almost never after expensive UFAs, and trade players like Skinner who was about to become one.</div></div>
I think Laine would sign that deal. Carolina is also a playoff contender now and it is likely a lot more money than Winnipeg would offer but they might match. But ya I'm aware that Carolina typically doesn't spend this kind of money on a player and probably wouldnt be willing to do this financially.

Laine Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bloodykisame</b></div><div>Agreed, NYR love lemiux he brings the physicality and grittness every team needs and a is a solid middle 6 forward. Fox holds very little value for carolina due to the fact he stated he will not sign with them and is a year away from FA for unsigned players. At best you will get a 3rd from or vesey or maybe both.</div></div>
Ya I figured Lemieux might be a stretch as well, would be fine with any asset though. Figured if it was done this offseason then potentially NYR would give up lemieux in order to sign fox and have him play this season rather than waiting out a season but most likely not.

Laine Offer Sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Interesting that thinking that Laine is worth 10m but a superior playing Aho is worth "just" 8.5m on his contract or that Teravainlen who certainly had a better year than Aho signed for 5.4m</div></div>
I don't think Laine is worth that much which is why an offer sheet at that amount might make Winnipeg hesitate to match. Offer sheets have to overpay big time and price the other team out of matching which is one of the main reasons they don't happen very often, if you offered for fair value the jets would certainly match. Aho extension is based off of Draisaitl deal and in this case would be done before they offer sheet Laine for more money.

Penguins Re-tool Kessel Gone
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawks34</b></div><div>avs and Montreal laugh in your face at those offers. Trading a 4th overall pick for a 32 year old starting next year? Not a chance. Let alone all the other stuff added there. Horrible offer. Montreal’s offer is not as bad but no way penguins risk Matta blowing up somewhere else for Shaw of all people lol.</div></div>
If you look at it again it's not the 4th overall they got from Ottawa it's their own which will be 16+ for a proven goal scorer with cup pedigree on a team that needs secondary scoring and will be drafting a top end talent at 4 that could possibly step into 2nd line center role immediately. Also, you say Montreal will laugh and that Pittsburgh isn't getting enough for Maata, contradicting yourself a bit there which one is it?

Ya my thought on the Pesce trade was that Carolina has a ton of caproom and Zaitsev can fill in as a decent 3rd pairing D on the right side since they won't have Fox coming up anymore. If Carolina thinks he is at least a serviceable NHL dman then he is just a bonus on a 1 for 1 with Kapanen and Pesce.

I think a pick would have to be in the deal on Vancouver's side to get Maata but I like the thinking behind this. Would need Edler Hutton Maata or Hughes to play the right side but not really a problem.

Tatar went for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd a year ago though I know that's not the norm. You also see teams like Pittsburgh consistently trade away their 1st. We will see though. Personally, I think Stone is going to go for a very high price.

So, half what you’re offering if that.</div></div>
Ya I would agree that Hossa and Stone are actually very comparable players. That trade was 10yrs ago though so it's difficult to use it as a comparable as the landscape of the league as changed. I guess we will have to just wait and see what the IRL price ends up being for Stone

I actually think that Stone is a better player than both Hossa and Kovalchuck or at the very least equally as good.

There are limited numbers of suitors and this might be there best offer by far.</div></div>
I think the Canucks would be a team that would offer at least 10M in free agency as they have the money and the need for a winger. But ya I think Stone would be a really good fit in Boston. The price to get him will hurt.

A rental with Stone's ability is unprecedented. Also the reports that Boston will be "All in on Stone" if he's available make me believe they will give up one of Studnicka or Vaakanainen in the deal. I wouldn't be shocked to see it include something like Donato, Bjork, 1st rounder + conditionals instead but I see Ottawa wanting one of the top 2 prospects as they'll probably get a top end prospect from someone. I think a package from NSH would be Tolvanen, 1st round pick + B prospect for Stone which in my opinion would beat out almost anything Boston offers that doesn't include Studnicka or Vaakanienen

Stone
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>Love the idea of trying to get stone, but there are some big time problems here.
1. McAvoys contract term. This literally never happens. Ever. Teams don’t give players coming off their elc a contract that will take them right to ufa without buying out any ufa years. I literally don’t think it has ever happened. Why? Because it’s so damn stupid. If Donnie did that he would be fired before the ink was dry.
2. That’s waaaayyyy too much to give up for a rental. I know you want to re-sign him, but the reality is he has one year left on his deal. He isn’t coming with a contract. Other teams aren’t bidding on him as if he has a contract. He is a rental. A first, Donato, and zboril? Sure. Jack Studnicka? Absolutely not.
3. Don’t trade Studnicka.
4. Chara is coming back. He wants to play. The bruins want him. He’s coming back.
4. How on earth does grizz find himself in the press box behind zboril?
5. Krejci above Bergeron? Donato on the fourth line as a center? What is going on with those lines?</div></div>
I didn't put much effort into contacts and term because it is dependant on so many things that are impossible to predict without being in the conversation. More so just picked an AAV that I think they could work a deal out at with Mcavoy and Carlo. Also didn't put thought into lines as coaches switch them around all the time. Those would just be my assumed top 6 forwards, bottom 8 forwards, top 4 dmen, and bottom 3 dmen. Chara coming back will of course would make this next to impossible without moving Krecji, Backes, or Krug. I know Chara wants to play and the bruins want him but if Stone wants to re-sign and the only way to do that is by not bringing back a 42 year old Chara for one more season I think its possible, also possible that they'd move Krug to make that work considering he's the easiest to move out of the three mentioned. I don't think the price is too high, maybe you are able to get him without Studnicka or Vaakanainen but I don't think so.

Granlund will be as good as gone this summer so he would be a toss in at this point for the playoffs.
The return seems high , so that's why i take this trade and run with it!</div></div>
I'm a nucks fan too. Nichushken has a bit of name recognition still but he has 0 goals 7 assists in 41 games averaging 12 mins a night after 2 decent seasons in the KHL. Honka has also been unable to establish himself as a full-time NHLer over the past 3 seasons. Goldobin has offensive upside that Dallas could use and Granlund is versatile which will be useful to dallas in the playoffs.

Who wins
Eichel = Petey (both are superstars not gonna try to argue one is better than the other)
Reinhart < Horvat (pretty close imo but Bo is extremely well rounded)
Mittelstadt < Boeser (Mittelstadt will hopefully pan out to be a really solid player but Boeser has been a stud)
Nylander < Virtanen (Nylander hasn't established himself as an NHLer and has had average point production in AHL, Virtanen is at least a solid bottom 6 forward)
Dahlin > Hughes (hopefully hughes can become a star but Dahlin is a generational dman)
Ristolainen > Juolevi (once again hopefully juolevi becomes a solid top 4 dman but risto has logged a lot of minutes and been solid for years now)
Nucks have the edge on forwards, BUF on defense. I agree overall it's pretty even and is tough to judge without seeing Juolevi and Hughes at least have a bit of NHL experience.

Just thought it would be an interesting discussion between two somewhat similar players with a 2yr age gap.
