<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Storm3456</b></div><div>Going from 8 million to 9 million is a huge jump. Plus that extra year is the main reason teams are looking to trade for him rather than wait until FA. Nolan Patrick doesn't seem like he will work in Philly, so there isn't much to lose there. Going for Hamilton indicates you are all in for this year and the first should be somewhere from 20-32. I'm a fan of both teams, I would not mind a trade like this coming from Carolina. Defense has been a mess since Niskanen retired and messed up the pairings. Hamilton brings that stability back and the rest of the D should follow. No more Provorov - Braun.</div></div>

Storm pretty much said what i was gonna say. and it’s not like other teams aren’t interested. if the flyers trade for the UFA’s rights of Hamilton, there is a higher chance that they do in fact get him signed. they’ll ask him if PHI is a preferred destination so that both sides agree mutually on the trade. we saw the same thing last off season with Edmundson and MTL.
