I am not saying that I disagree with you, but that Sully is still the coach...

PIT Trade Probably Three Peat
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsbeathabs</b></div><div>More goal in less TOI and the eye test I'll give maybe it's I see a lot more of Joseph</div></div>
Yes...he has a grand total of 2 more goals than ZAR...in 2 more games played then him. Yes ZAR has more ice time, but I would venture to guess that a good chunk of ZAR's ice time is on the PK and also being on the BART line he was primarily starting his shifts in the D-zone, usually against one of the other teams top 2 lines. Oh and I forgot to mention, ZAR gets no PP time at all, not that Joseph sees a lot, but its still more than Zach.

That's fine, we can agree that we don't want this trade and that it won't happen. However, what stats, numbers, proof, eye test, whatever, makes Joseph better than ZAR? I am not even a big ZAR proponent.

Crap I hit the wrong button and accidentally reported your message...sorry.
What I meant to do was comment that I am not saying that this is a fair trade, however offensively Joseph and ZAR are even. But if you talk with the analytics people ZAR is a defensive gem. McDonagh is definitely the better offensive D-man, but Dumo is comparable defensively and is 2 years younger. The reaso TB is giving up a slightly higher value is because they are buying about $2M in cap space. With that being said, as a Pens fan, I don't make this trade. Upgrading on Dumo while slightly downgrading on ZAR does not upgrade the team enough to be able to take on the extra cap, plus they would have to move out another league minimum contract to even make it work.

Just curious why you would put Rust on the 3rd, you know that is never going to happen in Pitt again right? He may slide down to 2nd with Geno out, just to spread the talent around a little more, but he is basically stapled to Sid and Jake at this point.

I mean I love Turbo, but why would Pitt care if Seattle took an over paid for much too long 4th line player? If they want Tanev, take him.

Why in the world would anyone even consider taking Jankowski? It makes no sense. I get that maybe the creator of this may be trying to screw over some GM's, but why screw over Pitt and let TB walk free? It makes no sense.

Add Matheson in and the Pens may consider, but why in the world would the Pens be interested in moving their very good backup goalie on a team friendly contract for a bottom 6 player on a bloated contract. Once again, just because an Edmonton beat writer says that the Pens are interested, it doesn't mean that they actually are.

If Toronto wants McCann so badly, they are going to have to pay for him. This is not paying for him, especially not with retention.

Just because an Edmonton beat writer says the Pens are interested in Kassian, it doesn't mean that the Pens are interested in Kassian. They should have zero interest in an overpaid bottom 6 player.

Uhhgg...how many times do Pens fans have to tell Leafs fans that they are not interested in Reilly, that the Pens have over $12M in 3LD already, they have about $24M in 5D already. There is no room, or need for Morgan Reilly in Pittsburgh (PERIOD)

Okay Edmonton fans...just because some talking head around Edmonton wants it to happen, I am fairly confident that Hextall has no interest in Kassian's contract and he is definitely not going to send out his starting goalie that he has specifically said he doesn't want to trade. The second would be nice, but everything else around that trade is a big fat NO from the Pens.

Hextall and Burke have both said that they don't want to move Jarry. He didn't cost the Pens the playoffs, just one game. Get him a better goalie coach and I think he'd be fine.

What kind of contract will Ritchie be looking for? If it is relatively cheap, I'd be all for this. The Pens need to move at least one of Petts or Matheson and they could really use a hefty body or two up front.

The better question is why would the Pens move their starting goalie that just won his division and is a year removed from being an All-star for a C that would likely be the #5-6 C (Sid, Geno, Carter, Blueger) on the team?

A lot of Pens Fans "Jarry, just backstopped the Pens to winning their division, get him a better goalie coach and he will be fine"
Edmonton "How about we trade our horrible contract that no one wants, for your goalie that you don't want to trade?"
Hmm...something doesn't add up here. Just because Ryan Wilson will do anything to get Jarry out of Pitt, he is just a reporter that has no say, the guys in charge don't want to move Jarry. They want a veteran that can slide in as a 1B if needed. However, I am sure they also recognize their cap situation and know that they need to move a significant amount of cap out, so they will likely be running Jarry and DeSmith again.
The only way I can see Pitt having any interest in Kassian at all, is if they move out Zucker and Matheson somewhere first and then Edmonton retains 50% and the trade doesn't cost Pitt any meaningful draft picks or prospects.

What he is paying to get rid of Petterson is closer to what they would have to pay to get rid of Matheson. Anyways, he also misses the fact that Larmi is no longer Pens property. He is on his way back to Finland and won't be coming back to NA. Also the Pens would likely have to bribe someone to take Jankowski's rights. The best move with him, is to not qualify him.

Not going to disagree. The problem with Zucker in Pitt has been that he seems to fit a lot better beside Crosby or even McCann, yet Sully always wants him with Geno. Since chemistry is such a crucial element to the Pens game, sending out someone that doesn't fit is a great idea, but not when you are bringing in an unknown that costs just as much for more years.

Zucker is coming off of a down year...but whether its a personal reason or not, one of these 2 played in the playoffs for their team and the other didn't. Regardless of whether Drouin's 3 year averages are better or not, how does trading Zucker for Drouin help the Pens in any way whatsoever?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ApparentlyOilFan</b></div><div>Pulju is <strong>1000x better than McCann</strong> in OilCountry and we are not about to ship him to another city</div></div>
You are assuming, as you really have no idea. McCann is only 2 years older so age isn't really a factor, but lets look at the numbers. Let's start with career.
<strong>McCann</strong>
353 GP, 66 G, 89 A, 155 Pts, +26
0.187 G/gm, 0.252 A/gm, 0.439 pts/gm
Average over 82 games
15.3 G, 20.7 A, 36.0 Pts
<strong>Pulju</strong>
194 GP, 32 G, 30 A, 62 Pts, -4
0.165 G/gm, 0.155 A/gm, 0.320 pts/gm
Average over 82 games
13.5 G, 12.7 A, 26.2 Pts
So over their careers McCann averages about 2 more goals a season, about 8 more assists, 10 more points. All while being more defensively responsible. But what about the argument that Pulju is still improving? Well lets look at the most recent season.
<strong>McCann</strong>
43 GP, 14 G, 18 A, 32 Pts, +17
0.326 G/gm, 0.419 A/gm, 0.744 pts/gm
Average over 82 games
26.7 G, 34.4 A, 61.0 Pts
<strong>Pulju</strong>
55 GP, 15 G, 10 A, 25 Pts, +6
0.273 G/gm, 0.182 A/gm, 0.454 pts/gm
Average over 82 games
22.4 G, 14.9 A, 37.3 Pts
This past season alone has McCann averaging out to 4 more goals, about 20 more assists over an 82 game season. Oh but we are also forgetting the most important fact about comparing these 2...McCann doesn't play with McJesus.

That's a most definite NO from the Pens. They are most likely going to expose Zucker, but that is because they need the cap space. Bringing in Drouin, who isn't as good as Zucker, while costing the same as Zucker, but having more years on his contract, is just dumb cap management.
