I fell like Newhoof¸k could make sense in a such deal</div></div>
Joshua-Newhook-Garland could round out a nice top 9.

Ya, I'd probably be keen on a center prospect.
I think Struble is solid defensively and prime for a decade plus solid NHL dman. Skates well and physical. Less fussed about Kovacevic.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>Eeli isn’t signing that contract
Try like $5,500,000 per</div></div>
Probably shorter term (like 3 years) otherwise higher AAV as Leandro suggested.
And another top 6 forward. Burakovksy is too injury prone and Schwartz isn't top 6 on a playoff team.

BETTMAN GETS BYFIELD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>batman</b></div><div>1) Byfield extension is already going to be between 8-9M AAV. They’re not going to let him walk because they don’t want to pay 1M more in AAV.. He’s a stud. And Roy is already probably going to walk. Thank the PLD contract for that one. Try between 10-11M AAV if you really want to get the 21yr old out of L.A.
2) Kings could pass on that one, just because another talented forward wouldn’t come back in the deal. But the value would be fair/what they’re looking for. They would then draft a crazy talented foward with the #6 like Demidov or Lindstrom and then would also bet Guhle. Imagine a Clarke-Guhle pair. Losing Roy wouldn’t hurt at all because you just got Guhle and Clarke is going to be full time nhler next szn.
3) We are way more ready than what everyone thinks. We’re going to aim for the playoffs next year. With Suzuki Dach Slafkovsky Caufield Reinbacher Newhook Guhle Hutson and the #5 overall + another trade like the Newhook one ( Necas?). We loaded the prospect pool this last 3 drafts. We can already win big games Vs Big teams. We learned and took experience, the pieces are assembling. We don’t need few more years, it’s time. With Cayden Lindstrom at #5, our team could look like :
Lindstrom ( #5) - Dach - Slafkovsky
Caufield - Suzuki - Necas (Newhook/Dach trade expected
Newhook - Dvorak - Anderson
RHP - Evans - Roy
Matheson - Guhle
Hutson - Reinbacher
Xhekaj - Savard
Monty
Primeau
Hutson and Reinbacher probably make the team.</div></div>
The Kings can't give him a big deal and stay competitive. They are a wild card team and if they lose Roy, their depth and sign another mediocre goalie, it will be worse by going long on Byfield. They need him to bridge and then adjust Doughty and Kopitar cap hits when they expire and then go long on Byfield. It's pretty known from King fans on this site.
I know Montreal has many talented prospects but it's going to be a few years before competitive. That's all I said... Lol
Anderson Gally Savard Matheson will all be gone unless they run Guhle RHD but that pair hasn't been very good.
Lindstrom is talented but will not be NHL ready next season. Dach off a serious knee injury will need time. Reinbacher, Hutson and Mailloix all need time to develop. It won't be next year.

1) LA would easily match that
2( MTL would put up the best offer with Guhle and the #6 😉</div></div>
1) At $9.5M it's not easy at all. Goalie, RHD would be in a bad spot if they did. The 4th line would be $775k.
2) Kings would pass
Byfield signs the OS as it takes him to UFA at 27. Montreal would be wiser to keep on going as is. Need a few more years before the young guys turn the franchise around.

He's worth it imo. It's a lot but damn he's getting better and his cap hit is outrageous relative to his game. It's too bad Minnesota has these buyouts hanging around so long.
Not sure the direction Minnesota is headed. Hanging onto pieces through the buyouts, while extending others, suggests they'll ride it out but good place to start fresh if the Wild were to go that route.

Interesting take. Saves draft capital but gotta replace Joseph. Not opposed to it but not a big fan of buyouts and I think Joseph brings elements to the ice that supports offensive guys.

I don't mind these adds but Big Z can't be top 4 RHD. He said he wasn't comfortable on the right earlier this year. Maybe Soucy but prefer another Dman if Graves added.
I think Blueger would have to walk and maybe even Joshua at $3.5M. Rather see a legit top 6 guy and cheap on bottom 6 vs rushing to overpay depth guysm

Probably takes more for McBain and Kesselring. Especially with Miki's cold streak.
Top 6 looking lean unless Lekkerimaki and Pod make huge leaps.

Take advantage of this competitive window
Damn, two seconds to Chicago for decent players... Pain.
I think I'd rather pursue a guy like Turbo over Toffoli for the two way game even if meant more term. But, not complaining about the roster. Just wonder if they are a contender with Joshua top 6 vs good bottom 6er.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheBoyDuddus</b></div><div>As much as I love Lekkerimaki, a late 1st in a draft a year from now and a B-C prospect doesnt make up the difference to Batherson, especially considering the value he brings with production relative to his contract which still has term. If Ottawa were to seriously consider moving him it would need to be for a package that was an objective overpay, similar to the perception surrounding th Hagel deal with TB, which I dont think is something that would interest the Canucks who, like Ottawa, are going to be hard pressed for cap space.</div></div>
Ya, I can see that perspective for sure. Batherson is extremely productive and on a great deal. The TB firsts were both late and top 10 protected for Hagel. Raddysh a kicker. So maybe another prospect/young roster player could be desired.

Rather keep Pod. At least I know if he's gonna be asked to play a bottom 6 role, he can do that. Not sure Walhlstrom would bring any qualities Tocchet is after.
All else looks good except for maybe Talbot vs Silovs and then rolling Joshua top 6. Would hope for another goal scorer in the top 6.

No bueno! Especially since Fabbro signed a one year deal to walk to UFA. Rather have one year of Hronek, even on his QO, than one year of Fabbro plus Sissons.
