what I would do
I'm good with the top 9. Like you said, Hog and Pod have to step up. Hopefully a player like Domi can unlock their scoring potential. Joshua starts over Dries and as much as Hathaway is a solid player, no way I'd want them to commit 3 years to him. Rather play studs or see Karlsson get a shot.
I believe Dermott is gone or signs near minimum. I'd love to see a more stay at home LHD round out the pairings. Maybe a guy like Dumolin if he'd play in Canada.

Could maybe contend for a spot in the division next year
Miller is doing just fine. PPG 2C. Why retain? His contract is the cost of a player that produces that much.

Probably the only media guy still pushing that Miller could be moved. They turned down big offers from NYR and Pitt. I'm not convinced there's a chance a deal could happen anymore lol

Could easily be said as 'why aren't we moving a bottom 6 player making 3m a year for an expiring deal?'

On the outside, but long term, who stays around beyond Sanheim and York? A bit early to know if Andreas is going to translate to NHL. I guess moving Laughton would suggest more moves on the go (possibly Provorov). That said, the Canucks probably have other prospects/players to include over Rathbone.

Maybe if he would take a one year deal. I wouldn't want to sign him for that term. He's a better winger but can fill in at center if need be.

The D year 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nighthawk</b></div><div>I’m leaving 3C til another day or the following season. Gavrikov for top 4 needs bumping OEL down. If an OEL buyout is in the future each year we can survive his cap hit lessens the buyout length. Also in case of injury more depth. Myers gone for 2024/25 is cap savings. The 20/4/25 is when the roster should be ready many seasons of the PO’s on the road to contention. Cap space will be needed to resign EP & Hronek for 2024. That gives plenty of time to cap manage til then.</div></div>
I really want the team to go all in on a playoff roster or ride out the current roster for another year until a better FA class. Selling Garland and Hoglander to roll out that third line is a crime imo. Acciari and Gavrikov are solid pieces and if they go this route, I don't want to see Dries and Aman centering. Find a 3C and let Acciari hold down a very good fourth line with Joshua and hungry guy like Karlsson. Flip Myers and keep pieces like Garland and Hog and suddenly it's a close to a beauty.

Ross
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dan_the_Man</b></div><div>It might to actually get him to sign. It's not like guys go leaving perennial Stanley Cup contenders for what's been fairly regularly a non playoff team. To a place where there is a heavier tax burden. Especially if there's a handshake deal in place on a longer term for the following year when the cap will increase. So it might take more than you think. There were several rumors Jeannot was looking 6x (2.3 to 2.6) area</div></div>
I hear ya. If Jeannot is adamant on that now, makes Ross a tough signing. Smart move for Jeannot would be a 1 year prove it deal, put up points in a high powered team like TB and cash in next year.

The D year 1
I'm thinking the Garland trade is excessive. Keep Hog and ship out Kravstov (or let him walk). Hog would definitely start over Kravstov on the third line next year. As much as Gavrikov could be a solid add, the need for a 3C is bigger than another LHD.

Ross
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dan_the_Man</b></div><div>TB is going to resign Colton Jeannot and fill everything out with <900k players. With the cap being what it is how ridiculously are you going to over pay to get Colton to sign an offer sheet? He is most likely Killers replacement next year So unless you seriously over pay wtf would he sign an OS?</div></div>
If TB is filled out with near minimum contracts outside Jeannot and Ross, TB is looking at 4.5m or so to re-sign both of them with Seabrook doing the grunt work on LTIR. It might not take as much as you think. At least Pod has another year before Stamkos re-signs for less and the cap bumps up. Maybe JB convinces Jeannot to take a cheap, prove it, one year deal and JB gives Ross a Nick Paul deal. It's tight and potentially doable, but even 4.2m O/S (2nd round pick) makes things difficult for TB.

Unfortunately Pod is not progressing with his limited ice time, not remotely close to pushing anyone out of the top 6 and doesn't fill a roster need. Gotta give to get. 26 is still young.

Maybe on the Detroit trade, probably do it.</div></div>
What more would Lindholm be worth than a top 10 pick in a great draft, another mid-round pick and a couple prospects? Yes Kravstov is a nothing-burger but Rathbone could do well where he gets an opportunity to play. Maybe it's a different forward prospect but this is a consistent package seen around the league (1st, another pick, prospect or two) for good players.

You say that but what comp would you even suggest to say it's not close? We see very good players get moved year after year and they are headlined by returns of 1st, another pick (mid-rounds) and a prospect or two.

Need a 3C to elevate that line. Kravstov won't be back unless it's in the A. Defense needs a boost still. Use some of that cap :)

Fine with me. At least they will try and we all see where Pettersson is going. Big difference when ppl saw Bo as the top dog but now Vancouver has one plus a Bure repeat to go along with. Reality is, they need a third center and to replace Myers. Both are doable.
I made this post given Dubas' occasional wildcard and aggressive approach. Moving Sandin was an abysmal decision. Whose to say it won't happen again? The heat will be peak next year for him. Hopefully he doesn't blow it all up on the way out.
