Sure Billy Beane, lets see Dubas ship Marner off for Sheary or less than & watch mathematics work it’s thing.
Maybe we will win a championship like the Oakland Athletics under his tenure, oh wait!

Hmmm you’re way of speaking and almost word for word comparison seems eerily similar to that of BRANDONDUBINSKYGOAT.
Just saying.

But who replaces the 90+ points you just traded away (with a D & pick I might add) for nothing.
Just make a stupid trade and leave it at that with a 21 man roster even without Marner?
I just read the same damn thing in 3 different other threads and you just mashed it all together with no answer to the problem, your posts are just a b**** fit really.
The posts are no better off than the ludicrous Marner signings we see.

Matthews goes home Marner Gets the C AND SIGNS LONG TERM
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RahefIssaLeafsHockey</b></div><div>William Nylander is a better individual player than Mitch Marner. So far in their careers, Nylander’s Corsi for is 54% whereas Marner’s is only 40%. In fact, each star forward on the Leafs found more success playing with Nylander than with Marner. Kadri has a .86 G/60 playing with Nylander and .85 playing with Marner. Van Riemsdyk has a 1.33 G/60 playing with Nylander and 1.18 with Marner. Tavares has a 6.27 G/60 playing with Nylander and 1.53 with Marner. Matthews has a 1.53 G/60 with Nylander and a 1.04 with Marner. Just stop for a moment and take a look at Marner’s possession metrics and advanced stats: <a href="https://imgur.com/gallery/nVdJHWP" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://imgur.com/gallery/nVdJHWP</a>
<a href="https://imgur.com/a/j04H3vO" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://imgur.com/a/j04H3vO</a> He literally gets carried by Tavares and is only effective when JT is holding his hand.
Across the past 3 seasons at 5v5 in comparison to Marner, Nylander has a higher...
iCF60: 15.03 vs 14.44
iFF60: 11.33 vs 10.64
iSF60: 7.94 vs 7.37
ixG60: 0.78 vs 0.66
So literally the only A3Z metric that rates Marner higher than Nylander across the past 3 years is...nothing.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RahefIssaLeafsHockey</b></div><div>What’s more mind bottling that Jake Guentzel, a player who is just as good if not better than Mitch Marner, signed for just 6 million on a 5 year deal. Yet here are people thinking Mitch is worth 10.75 million!</div></div>
You’re off by .16

What are the Leafs? The new Quebec Nordiques? It is hard to ever imagine a Lindros-esque trade ever happening again.

I’d sooner see the Leafs spend their money by putting Ceci on waivers and AHL than trading him with picks and prospects when he’s only here for a year.
Marner... maybe for 8 years? Or maybe this deal in 3 years time after a 3yr bridge? But not now and not 5yr.

I’d like to see when Dermott is back.
At least see them try it out anyways.
Rielly / Dermott
Muzzin / Barrie
Bottom pairing fluctuates
Left side
Marincin/Harpur/AHLers
Right side
Ceci/Holl/AHLers
I need to see more of Ceci - yet to be convinced.

Trade with Wild
Wouldn’t be “so” bad if Zucker & Spurgeon had longer terms on their current contracts.
I guess it would depend on Dubas’ view of Stanley Cup window.
Farm/picks worth 1yr of Spurgeon & 4yr of Zucker?
I couldn’t see Wild doing it anyways even if Leafs “listen” to it.

It would be nice if we could get away with the Rielly & Barrie top pairing, but I still don’t think we can.
As good as Muzzin is defensively, I think we will lose whatever we gain from the top pairing with this D line-up. Your D line up could happen sometimes during the season toying around with line ups, but I think Rielly/Ceci Muzzin/Barrie top 2 pairing give the Leafs better balance.

How good is Roland Mckeowen? How many years out from NHL?
Braco is probably one more year out but should see time this year on Leafs roster early on.
All I can picture is Dubas pulling a Conor McGregor, who the $&@! is that guy? And ye ain’t taking my 7th rounder.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Price_is_the_goat</b></div><div>Kerfoot has played over 60% of his career in the nhl at wing. They will likely start him at C, but won't give him a ton of minutes, cause he's not the greatest matchup guy as a centermen. Kadri was. This responsibility will likely fall on tavares and matthews.</div></div>
I agree & is why Leafs added Shore & Spezza - Leafs biggest problem (other than defence) showed when Kadri was suspended, Leafs had no C depth and had to shove Nylander down to 3C.
I think you will see 3/4 C fluctuate the whole season between Kerfoot/Spezza/Shore/Goat & possibly Petan

You don’t think Spezza is going to see special teams? Pretty sure Leafs picked up a good PK faceoff taker in Spezza.
Leafs seemed to focus around C depth a tad bit after the bs of rotating Nylander into 3C during playoffs when Kadri was suspended.

They also gained Kerfoot to replace Kadri @ 3C in that trade, not just Barrie

My understanding is until Marner has been signed, his (Shore) signing is a gentleman’s agreement only.
I could be wrong, someone here I’m sure could prove that if need be, but I don’t think Shore, Gravel, or Agostino are officially signed, yet.
If on roster, I think you will see a mixture of Spezza/Goat/Shore in the 4C this year.

I do think you have one thing right & really only if the owner wanted to risk to save his image with the fan base.
I do think Ottawa would be the only team that would be stupid enough to spend 4 first round picks for 1,2,3,4,5 years of Marner.

A new leaffor Nylander
I like the in-depth thought surrounding this but I do think both Marner and Nylander are retained by the Leafs unless someone silly offer-sheet’s Marner 11mil+.
Nylander deserves a full year to prove to himself & Leafs he can be better than his 2018-19 partial season. At least until 2019-20 TDL.

Leafs extended Matthews before Marner, yet Marner was drafted first, so who is the franchise player.
Wrong about the Blackhawk stars too btw.
Toews 3rd overall in 06
Kane 1st overall in 07
