Someone HAS To Be Getting Traded
Why? I hate to tell u but that’s our team. It’s gonna be: Zucker/Crosby/Kapanen, Guentzel/Malkin/Rust, McCann/Janko/Rodriguez, Tanev/Blueger/Sceviour(untill Z.A.R comes back and is healthy and we will probably trade Sceviour’s expiring contract at the deadline). Our defense will be: Dumoulin/Letang, Petersson/Marino, Matheson/Ceci, and our scratches will be Lafferty, Ruthwedel, and Rikkola(Just like last year). And that’s a 23 man team. And leaves us like 1.3M on the salary cap for any injury call-ups. I don’t know what u mean someone has to be traded?

Lines
Rodriguez is going to be our 3rd line RW and Zucker will play with Crosby. You want the speed, in Kapanen and Zucker, w/ Crosby. Guentzel/Malkin/Rust line has always been good (and was awesome last year)and will stay together.

He’s gonna sign the 895k/yr offer sheet. I doubt he even nickels and dimes them up to 1M/yr. there is no possible way it gets to 2M/yr. he has no leverage. He can’t sign anywhere else unless they offer sheet him. He’s not arbitration eligible until next year. So he signs it and next year, goes to arbitration.
And Holl and Dermott basically play 2 different positions. Holl is a right-handed shot defenseman. Plays the right side. Way more valuable than Dermott and A LHD

He’s got an offer of 895k. I really think he will accept that offer eventually..he probably won’t even nickel and dime them up to a 1M offer. So, If another team gave him a 1.4M offer it would be 500k more. He leaves..lol

Leafs with no more moves
Nice job, the only leafs fans that Posted something that knows the offer of Dermott and what Miikheyek will get in arbitration. Every other fan just posts to post something, with out knowing anything. Atleast w/out knowing how much their team offer sheeted a player and what his and their options are.
You didn’t re-sign Joey Anderson though. No way the leafs traded for him and won’t sign him. Everything I read said the organization thinks highly of him. If he goes to the OHL it won’t go against their cap either.

The leafs offered Dermott 895k. If someone offers him 1.395M or above the leafs will let him walk and take the 3rd round pick compensation. NO way they pay him 2M. Obviously he didn’t sign the 895k offer sheet yet but he’s not gonna get more than 1M/year from Toronto. And he’s not arbitration eligible.
And Mikheyev is arbitration eligible and has a hearing next week I believe. He will probably win something like 1.5-2M a year

If another team offers Dermott 1.395M or above. It’s very, very unlikely that the Leafs match that offer. They would just take the 3rd round Pick compensation and be happy. You do know Nate Schmidt was just traded for a 3rd round pick and is way more valuable than Dermott. yes, Toronto loses a player, but a player who is eligible for arbitration next year and will for sure take it to a arbitration hearing if they offer 895k again. So, they will lose a player they mostly likely can’t afford.

Pens would take Hertl and Burns and his contract for Letang(who deal is up the year after next year). For Letang and 2nd round pick. The Trade that u have to the rangers is a lot for Hertl; 2 prospects, NHL ready player w/ some experience. And 2 1st round picks. Yikes.

The leafs offered Dermott 895k. If someone offers him 1.395M or over the leafs will let him walk and take the 3rd round pick compensation. NO way they pay him 1.75M.

But I think he'll be a mainstay on that 3rd line with potential to move into top 6</div></div>
I can see Robertson playing the LW on the 2nd line and Mikheyev playing on that 3rd line LW and Vesey on the 4th line LW. Toronto definitely needs that entry-level contract of a young play-making forward.

I like it!! The most reasonable and best post I’ve seen by a Leafs fan in a while. The leafs offered Dermott 895k already. He might sign that offer sheet. He might not even nickel and dime them up to 1M/yr. If another team offers him 1.395M or above, they have to give up a 3rd round Pick as compensation. And the Leafs would 100% take that 3rd round pick and let him walk then.
Every other posts has Barabnov starting too. It’s hard for me to imagine two 1st year, Russian players coming in and starting on A contenting, play-off team. That’s a lot to ask. Especially since Mikheyev is a lot bigger than Lehtonen and Barabnov. Barabanov especially is smaller. And both play the Russian way. Soft and fast. With the bigger Ice RInk in Russia. It usually takes some time for them to adjust to the NHL game, the smaller rink, is a huge difference, but isn’t even the biggest difference. And plus, getting accustomed to everything off the Ice too. Like I said, that’s just a lot of faith to have in two 1st year guys that have never played a play in the NHL yet. So, I like you just having Lehtonen on your 3rd defensive pairing too. Seeing he’s the better of the 2 players anyways. Atleast the more highly touted. I guess we will see who is better..lol.

Leafs Proposal 11 - Leafs Win the Cup
They win if someone offers him 1.4M. They get a 3rd round Pick compensation. That’s more valuable in my opinion. Especially than a 1.4M/yr Dermott. The Leafs would definitely let him walk and take the 3rd round pick. Only acouple teams would be interested in Dermott. Everyone is interested in a 3rd round Pick. You can trade it to any team w/ no cap concerns for them immediately. And Nate Schmidt just got traded for a 3rd round Pick. If he gets an offer sheet of 1.395M or above and the team has to give up a 3rd round Pick compensation, the Leafs definitely don’t match that offer and let him walk and take the 3rd round pick.

And No way both Lehtonen and Barabanov make the team. No way 2 Russian players come over and start on a contending team in there 1st year in the States. Let alone their 1st year in the NHL. The game is very different, not just the NHL ring being smaller, which is hard enough to get used too. But they have to get accustomed to everything else as well. On and off the ice. Maybe Lehtonen, the way better player of the two, make the team. But that’s still unsure.
For a extremely picky fan base. You guys sure do have a lot of confidence in 2 players that never played a single game in the NHL. And no one has even seen play yet..lol. Especially trusting Barbanov to be a 3rd line winger..on a play-off team. Good luck. I can see Lehtonen, especially being the better of the two, being a D-man on a 3rd pairing. But both of them, that’s a lot of trust. I doubt the coaches or GM have either of them penciled in as starters right now. They can’t possible. Neither of them played an NHL game yet. Mikheyev is way bigger than both of them. Both Lethonen and Barabnov are small and rely on speed. Especially Barabnov. And that’s how the Russian game is played. With the bigger Rink. Softer and faster. We’ll see how they both translate. Good luck though. A lot of faith in two 1st year players.

I think an arbitration hearing just awards a sum of money to a player based on both sides case. And if the team declines to pay the offer. The player then becomes an unrestricted free agent. The team can then sign him again to a lower cost but they don’t have 1st shot anymore and don’t have the ability to match any offer anymore.

I will agree that Lehtonen looks legit from what I’ve read too. But we will see. It’s a different game man. Especially for a D-man. The rink being smaller, although a huge difference, isn’t even the biggest difference in the NHL game. A lot bigger players. And speed isn’t gonna kill as much on a smaller rink. And then getting accustomed to all the off the Ice sh*t too. It’s just a big ask on a contending team. I could see on a team re-building. But not a win-now team.
Like I said, no way, even the coaches or GM have either of them penciled in as a starter right now. They can’t. They haven’t played one game in the NHL yet..lol
