CHI Trade at draft
RHP is not an NHL player and he's not a RW or RD, either. He's 25 (two-and-a-half years older than Kaliyev) yet has only 83 NHL games under his belt (Kaliyev has 188).

Owen Beck (2022 2nd, Pick 33) = Almost a 1st
I am not saying Anaheim wants to trade Zegras. But that is 3 firsts and more. And no 3 1st rounders have the same value. We understand that.
In reference:
Jack Eichel to Vegas:
16th overall, 17th overall, and 18th overall pick coming back to Buffalo.
What would you like from Chicago for Zegras?

Do you REALLY think that someone is going to give you a 2024 first-round draft pick for any of those three prospects?!?
And this is before we get into the discussion of the difference between a 2024 first, whose placement if not completely fixed is at least known within narrow parameters, and a 2025 pick which, in some instances, may not even be that pick at all (i.e., the Calgary first) or even that year (in the case of top-10 protection).
By the way, the Eichel trade included Alex Tuch, who would be a top-10 pick from his draft were that selection held today.

What I would like to understand is what you consider a fair package, in terms of value. (eg. Josh Anderson, a power forward, with 50% retained, has value, how much can be debated, but this in my eyes is not a cap dump like some are claiming.)

The fact that you see three firsts here, and the fact that you think all firsts are the same, are emblematic of the myopia that afflicts many Habs fans.

What an absurdedly fatuous statement. On-ice value is what determines whether two players are comparable, not how intelligent their respective front offices are. "LOL" indeed.

Pat Verbeek didn't "have trouble signing" Zegras to a long-term contract; he didn't offer him one.

Zegras Since the Rumors Be Rolling Neither Side Should Do This
Thank you for these companion posts.
In his two comment in this thread, @Lancebmx, a non-Anaheim fan, has brilliantly, correctly and perfectly set forth our position on Zegras' trade value: a comparable high-end asset. Think of the Gauthier-Drysdale or Bowen-Mittelstadt trades. The only two such assets you have on your books that you might be willing to give up are David Reinbacher or your own 2024 first. (You're not about to part with Caufield or Slafkovsky, and Suzuki and Guhle aren't RWs or RDs.) A bunch of moderate values like the Winnipeg or 2025 firsts just don't do it.

The Ducks aren't "moving on" from Trevor Zegras any more than the Habs are "moving on" from Cole Caufield.

Turning every team into a playoff team
Why should we, a small-market team, throw away $7.5 million just for the sheer unalloyed joy of trading away three seasons of starting goaltending?
On a related note, what value do you think the Winnipeg third has when the Ducks have three earlier picks in that round and a total of SEVEN picks ahead of it?
And on a similar note, when do you project that a prospect selected with a 2025 second would actually hit the ice, if ever?

Nope. And I think that would be true even if we manage to re-sign Matt Roy, which I think is unlikely. And I won't embarrass myself or my fellow Kings fans by offering Jordan Spence plus our own first for #7.

2025-26 Playoffs
Anaheim already owns Edmonton's 2024 first plus pick #35, so how much of an extra mitzvah do you think that the Winnipeg choice will be, even though it will be earlier than the Oilers'?
Similarly, Anaheim already owns an "extra" 2024 second, which has the advantage of time over the Pittsburgh choice, plus two thirds in that draft, so the last element in that offer won't make Pat Verbeek swoon, either.
I can guarantee you that the forward selected with Anaheim's own 2024 first will be a better prospect than Sean Farrell, or the defenseman selected with Anaheim's own 2024 first will be a better prospect than Justin Barron, so as my esteemed friend says, what is there in that offer that would persuade us to give you a top-6 forward whose production is the same as Cole Caufield's? You yourself don't think that either of those youngsters merits more than a near-League-minimum deal for his second contract.

No chance that Brandt Clarke is on the market for any single player you own, including MacKenzie Weegar.

With our lack of depth at RW, there's an underdog possibility that we would give you a fourth-round draft pick for Emil Bemstrom. The other four elements of that trade, individually or collectively, wouldn't get you anyone on our roster, let alone two starters, let alone Trevor Zegras.
You could offer us the rights to the unsigned Brayden Yager and your 2025 first-round draft pick and that wouldn't get you Trevor Zegras, or Cole Caufield or Martin Necas for that matter.

I'll never understand the thought process (and I use that term charitably) that basically runs "DuBois is garbage, so we'll give the Kings garbage for him, so then we'll have garbage DuBois on our team, oh boy, oh boy."
I know that Vejmelka and pick 49 aren't exactly garbage, but DuBois had a better year than Barrett Hayton (pro-rated) or Ryan Johansen (with Colorado).

Playoffs push
What in the world would make you think that we would trade Troy Terry for a left-handed bottom-4 defenseman, of all things, and two futures?!?
You can't construct intelligent trade proposals by starting with what assets you think are comfortably expendable. The first step in any such construction is deciding what asset(s) you would like from a team (here, our top-6 RW), and the second step is to imagine what that team needs and would want in exchange for said asset(s). For Anaheim, that's a quality RW or RD at the minimum. So Terry for David Reinbacher and your 2025 second would be right on value, but we're not trading our best RW.

More likely, but still unlikely, is New Jersey exchanging firsts and adding something for Jordan Binnington, but that would depend upon his M-NTC.

Fantastic Off-season
Los Angeles isn't trading local boy and fan favorite Trevor Moore, who just keeps getting better. And the Chychrun ship sailed at the trade deadline. For next season, we have much more important cap priorities, like re-signing Matt Roy if possible and if not, getting winger help for poor Pierre-Luc DuBois and filling both goaltender vacancies. And even if the only Kings game you watched all season was last night's, you should know that Chychrun isn't the answer to whatever ails LA defensively.

A 26-year-old lame duck fourth liner on a near-League-minimum contract as the (only) current asset for a 23-year-old top-6 LW who could be under team control for anywhere from 4 to 10 more seasons?
Replace the draft picks with Coronato, Honzek, Zary and Andersson and Anaheim would consider.
