Quoting: OhKennyHolland

Roman Josi: 58 GP: 17G, 52A, 69 PTS. (1st in scoring among D)
Cale Makar: 57 GP: 21G, 45A, 66 PTS. (2nd in scoring among D)

Roman Josi among d-man:
- 1st in points (69)
- 2nd in goals (17)
- T-1st in assists (52)
- 1st in PTS/GP (1.19)
- 1st in PPG (8)
- T-1st in PPP (27)
- T-1st in EV Strength Pts (42)
- 1st in shots on goal (203)

I'm not trying to say Makar is not good. He's having a ridiculous year especially in goals. I'm just trying to prove how Josi is underrated and is comparable to Makar. There has been so many comments saying, "Makar is putting up Bobby Orr numbers" but he's not even leading D in scoring. My argument is Josi is more valuable to the team. Makar is 7 points behind on Kadri, the Avalanche leading point scorer. On the other hand, Josi as a D-man is first in NSH scoring, 6 points clear. Josi is literally the cornerstone of NSH defense and is putting up underrated monstrous numbers this year. Josi already has 7 POINTS IN HIS LAST 2 GAMES.

Lets also take a look at all of them defensively:

Josi (current season stats) : 29 takeaways, 51 giveaways, 0.51 GA, 93 blocked shots.
Makar (current season stats): 28 takeaways, 27 giveaways, 1.04 GA, 72 blocked shots.

Roman Josi definitely deserves some attention as I think he should be the favorite for the Norris. It's crazy to think he can play at this level even at the age of 31.

After all these impressive numbers, these are the votes from other NHL writers:

Cale Makar, Colorado Avalanche, 75 points (15 first-place votes);
Victor Hedman, Tampa Bay Lightning, 54;
Roman Josi, Nashville Predators, 40;
Aaron Ekblad, Florida Panthers, 32;
Adam Fox, New York Rangers, 17

… and that's why Josi is underrated.

Legit though even without scoring he's the best d-man in the NHL night in and night out. He's impressive in all three zones and he makes his d-partner better.
