The MAX Id give for PLD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>I like in a trade as it gives Columbus a good centre for this year. Then they have some cap to decide to get a centre next summer. Denault, Caulfield and a first might be fair. Don't think CBJ want 3.4 X 3 Byron in any trade.
But really I don't see the fascination with PLD. if KK and Suzuki Caulfield develop, Habs have a fine core of forwards</div></div>
I think the big thing with all of this is when our window is. We need a good team in front of price and webber before they start to get worse. We also need to put a good team on the ice before we lose a majority of the good players on the habs right now. Tatar is probs not coming back next year, I doubt danault would either. This year seems like its perfectly set up for montreal to do damage, so we need to take advantage of that.
on another note, I included byron because danualt is paid 2 mill less than PLD and montreal still needs to have cap space to fit PLD. I would also give Lek, Armia and/or weal in the same spot, just to get rid of money. I think byron, if he’s not traded this year, is going to seattle next year anyways, so not a big loss.

That’s one of the reasons I wanted to move danault and not KK. If we get PLD this year, everyone has to watch out, and if we keep KK on the third line, its even moire dangerous. I’d watch out for a breakout year from him this year.

The MAX Id give for PLD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Borocop</b></div><div>thats fair, the way i see it i guess is I think they both have similar ceilings, but Dubois is just better now which kind of opens the habs window to be a contender a bit more. I guess it would depend on the extras columbus would ask for from montreal that would determine if it would make it worth it but i think 1 for 1 PLD makes the habs better now and doesnt really sacrifice a lot of future (again depending on the extras they would need to add in)</div></div>
It interesting to think of having all three. In a great universe, after this year, we would get KK on a good team-friendly contract, then the same for suzuki and PLD. If not, imagine what we could get back for trading one of them in the future after they have proved themselves (PLD not included obviously, because he already has). Right now Caufield is not ready. he might be a 40 goal scorer one day, but he isn’t right now at this level. As for the other i mentioned in here, they don’t have very high ceilings compared to the rest of the roster. So, to win now, i would 100% give up a few good prospects for a shot at winning. I think we could get to a point down the road where we have so much talent in the roster, that we can trade for prospects.

Legoroks99 is actually stupid. the two tweets, when analyzed by anyone else, refer to an ask and a counter. Columbus wants Suzuki, Montreal is potentially willing to give KK. Allegedly. I will become a leafs fan if anyone were to ever consider trading both and another player for PLD. I get that he’s good, but this season is going to highlight just how good both our guys are. There is no way both come up in trade talks.

Thoughts on what just happened
nah, perry and frolik will be fine. all the gms have unwritten rules, and one of them is definitely to not claim someone that’s just signed. it’s bad for player relations cause that player wanted to be on that team. if someone claims either of them, they won’t be happy with the other team. might get claimed later in the season, but i doubt they will be sent down later

This Joel Armia Deal is a Perfect No-Brainer Win-Win for the Sharks and Habs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>babouie</b></div><div>TOFFOLI is a better offensive player then people think . Bergevin getting him at that price was steal . I see him playing 2nd line</div></div>
Which second line? In my opinion they have three, which are all competing for that first line designation. Would be surprised to see a bid difference in ice time for gally/anderson/armia, because I think their lines will be played at about the same rate

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CheechYou</b></div><div>I hear you, that's also what I had in mind though. This is what I was saying:
Drouin-Suzuki-anderson
Tatar-Danault-Gallagher

All I'm trying to say is that you're treating armia like a fourth line player, which he definitely is not. Even if he's only worth a second, he is very important to the habs depth, and unless they get someone back that can be that 3rd line rw or lw, they aren't going to be moving him.

I see Toffoli on the 3rd line in his natural RW and Lehkonen on the 3rd on his natural LW. This puts Gambrell (or Armia if MTL keep him) on the 4th.</div></div>
Sorry, gotta keep the danault/tatar/gally line together. Put toffoli on his off wing and slot armia on the right of kotkaniemi. Danault is your obvious #2 center, and elk shouldn’t get anywhere near that 3rd line if the hans have any chance of going far. You need that depth to show, and the only way to do that is slot your top 9 in the top 9.

Idc if you include a first round pick so they don't touch anyone you want, thats an amazingly deep team, even if just for this year. If that leads to a cup or close, it has paid off. Yes aria is great, and as said above, I wasn't looking to realize the full value of each player in that trade.

I'm not even close to a toronto fan and i can see it</div></div>
Okay. Let's say you're right. Ullmark has never played more than 40 games of a season, and Jack Campbell ain't your go-to guy if you need backup. Goodluck getting anywhere close to a 900 save percentage between the two, unless one of them is spectacular. Probably not happening, and considering a lot of those forwards can't back check, and even if you say the defense are top four, there is not a top 20 dean in thats squad. That all combines to give a very low chance of low scoring games against you.

Even if they do keep tatar, which is possible considering they don’t have any other lefties, it would be much better to force to take an Evans or a big contract that we don’t want than to give up a big defenceman, which is what we need. probably a Byron.
