<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xspyrit</b></div><div>1) I would never trade Alex Formenton for 2 seconds. Yes he's still not highly impactful at the NHL level yet but he has almost McDavid speed. That skill is elite and very very valuable. He scored 27 goals, 53 pts in 61 games in his 20 y/o AHL rookie season for a reason. He will be a pretty nice luxury support player, he just turned 22 y/o. Trading that for two 2nds would be stupid.

2) Brown as in Connor Brown? A 2nd and a 3rd? that would be turned down right away. Think more Blake Coleman return... Brown has one of the best veteran AAVs in the whole league, a total bargain at that price and a quintessential player. I actually have something prepared that I just copy/paste everytime Brown is underrated. It was before this season of course.

- Among Brown's 19:17 TOI/GP in Ottawa, 2:45 were on the PK and only 1:32 on the PP. His overall dZS% has been 62.6% which is extremely high. Simply put, he is mostly used as a shutdown forward or on a matchup line.

- Despite this defensive usage, he has been 61st for Even Strenght Points among NHL players since 2019-20 (not including 2021-22 yet). Look at the names around him on that list, they aren't all as good overall :

Facts summary :

- He has scored at a 24 goals/50 pts pace in Ottawa (127 GP)
- He was 2nd in takeaways last season (behind Mark Stone of course)
- He received Selke votes (17th)
- Total beast on the PK : routinely gets more scoring chances than the opposition
- used heavily in a defensive deployment (34.0 oZS% vs 66.0 dZS%) but still provides good offense

His speed, non-stop motor and flawless work ethic is a beautiful thing to watch. With only a 3.6 AAV for 2 more seasons... way too valuable for Ottawa and they love him a lot. Any team who has Brown should use him in a similar way that Ottawa has been

3) Disagree with White, don't think he could return a second, unless like I said in my post above, you retain on his AAV

4) Pinto for a late first would be Dorion's dumbest move as Ottawa GM and we're talking about a guy that traded 23 y/o Mika Zibanejad and a 2nd for 28 y/o Derick Brassard... or a 2nd to get Derek Stepan's corpse (and his 6.5 AAV). Pinto is an absolute beauty, you don't touch that just like Batherson and Sanderson.

5) Agreed with the rest (Sokolov, Tierney, Paul, Brannstrom)

This is the players the OP said "first round pick"

Tkachuk, Brady
Norris, Joshua
Stützle, Tim
Brown, Connor
Chabot, Thomas
Brännström, Erik
Pinto, Shane

Everyone here is easily worth AT LEAST one first round pick except maybe Brannstrom because his usage is making his value plummet right now (Dorion has no idea how to manage assets)</div></div>

Thanks for your comment! Brown is good, but I don’t think he gets a first unless it’s from a contending team that really wants him to push them over the edge. I never said it would be smart to trade these guys.. I was just giving my thoughts. Is Pinto really that good though.. like he has been good, but he hasn’t proven himself in the NHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nhl_oilers</b></div><div>First of all, I like Wayne Glenzky. Probably the best player in the league! Now, I feel like you are overvaluing your players a tad. I don’t think you would get 2 seconds for Formenton. Maybe one late second. Brown would be a second and a third. Sokolov may be a second…. It’s hard to tell for him. For Tierney, I wouldn’t give you more than a fourth round pick. Paul could be a first if he is going to a contending team, but probably just a second if he is not going to a contending team that likes to trade first round picks. Braanstrom would be a late first in my opinion. Still a good prospect, just has not proven to be worth more. White, I think would be a second. Pinto again, would be a late first. That’s just my opinion. Most of them are pretty good, I just think you are saying a first round pick too much for some players that are not worth it.</div></div>
